The Residence Inn Rochester Mayo Clinic Area has become our “home away from home” for the last year. The front desk staff, the maintenance staff, and the housekeeping staff (Genoveva has been like a mom!) have been exceptionally kind and helpful and are always pleasant. They all go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible and to accommodate special requests. The rooms are comfortable and it is very helpful to have a kitchen for extended stays. It is a very quiet hotel at night. The convenience of being able to take the hotel elevator directly to the pedestrian subway, which is connected to Mayo, is critical when you are in town for many appointments. It is about a 5 minute walk to the main clinic, with wheelchairs readily available if needed, as well as access to a phone to call Mayo Transport if you need assistance. Staying at this hotel has made an extremely difficult year much easier to deal with, and we cannot thank the staff enough for all of their kindness.
The staff here has been exceptionally amazing! Andrew, Kelly, Zack, and Jordan have made our stay even better! They are all quick to help and always have a smile on their faces! Simply the best! Thank you!
Kelly was amazing.
She was professional, friendly and extremely helpful. She did a fabulous job when we needed it most.
Danni was great and very helpful the traffic down there by the hotel was terrible but Danni was awesome
I am a clinical travel coordinator and I love this property for my Mayo Clinic patient families as they offer a great two bedroom suite category room that is often very well priced. It is connected to the clinic via skyways and management is easy to work with for third party payments and accessible needs.
Besides the location, Residence Inn is one of the nicest hotels to stay at in Rochester. Nice variety for breakfast, beautiful balcony view, clean hotel, and friendly staff. Calvin, Danielle, and Dan were awesome and very accommodating. Definitely recommend!
Danni at the frimt desk was fantastic
There was construction and the maps could not get us there. We called fromt desk and Danni stayed on the phone for more thsn 10 minutes to mske sure we reach the hotel. And thrn she was so welcoming even apologizing for the construction that is not in the hotel’s hands
Stayed at the Residence Inn in Rochester, MN and overall had a really positive experience. The biggest advantage is the direct subway connection to Mayo Clinic—hard to beat that level of convenience, especially during early mornings or bad weather.
The rooms are updated, clean, and well-designed for longer stays. Everything felt comfortable and functional, and the overall condition of the hotel is clearly well-maintained.
Service was also excellent throughout the stay—staff were friendly, responsive, and made things easy.
The only downside, and ultimately the reason I’d hesitate to return, is that all the rooms come with queen-size beds. For a longer stay, especially if you’re used to more space or traveling with a partner, that becomes a noticeable drawback.
Overall: great location, great service, solid rooms—but the bed size is a limiting factor.
The experience here was amazing. Great breakfast and room.
My husband was scheduled to be in Rochester for almost 2 months due to a medical procedure at Mayo. Not only were we allowed to go and check out one of the rooms a month prior to our stay, Kelly was so helpful and cheerful in answering all the questions we had prior to coming back. The front desk staff that we dealt with - Kelly, Dani, Dan and Andrew were also so kind and helpful, even when I was constantly coming back down with some odd requests! They were able to provide everything we requested to make our stay even better and as relaxing and stress free as possible. The cleaning staff always did an amazing job on our room! Susana helped us move to a different room without being asked and tried to refuse the tip we wanted to give her for going above and beyond what was expected. My husband ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks, so I spent most of my day there, getting back to the room after 11 pm, which resulted in the dishes getting piled up on the counter because I was too tired to deal with them. I came back to the room one afternoon to find the Florencio loaded all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and started the dishwasher, which again was above and beyond his normal scope of work. Zach was also so kind and helpful with all my requests - from a squeaky dishwasher door to putting in a hand held shower nozzle so my husband could sit in a shower chair in the tub and take a shower. He said it best when he told me that they know that people don't come to Rochester on vacation, so all the staff does everything they can to make sure that the guests have the very best experience they can, considering everything they are dealing with. He is correct. The guests are dealing with a lot and knowing that the people at the hotel are doing everything they can to make sure the experience is as stress free as possible is all we can ask for. The location of the hotel is as convenient as can be. There are restaurants within walking distance outside, and also through the subway hallways. Getting to the buildings we needed to get to were all easily accessible through the subway hallways. We have to go back within 2 months, and we will definitely be staying at this location again.
The perfect home away from home when in Rochester for medical reasons. Housekeeping staff does a fantastic job and is so kind (thank you, Genevieve ) Breakfast includes many choices - always hot and delicious - thank you Cheryl and Clayton! Office staff couldn’t be nicer or more efficient - Dan, Kayce, Dani, Andrew, Kelly. And Zach in charge of maintenance is capable and cheerful. The location is convenient, the accommodations are perfect and the PEOPLE are the whipped cream on top.
My husband and I stayed 4 nights during our appointments at Mayo Clinic. This Residence Inn location is so convenient to Mayo/Gondo buildings through their network of "walking subway" corridors to get you to all the Mayo complex in addition to shops and restaurants and to Mayo parking deck. We never had to use the street level which was wonderful! Wheelchairs were accessible at the lower "subway" level at the Residence Inn. To top off our stay was the AMAZING help and friendly service by DANNI at the Front Desk! Danni was outstanding in providing information and helping to coordinate our needs. I even made a point to stop by and thank Dan (Danni's Manager) to acknowledge Danni's great customer service. Great Stay!!
Location is great especially during cold months for visits to Mayo Clinic. Walkway to clinic is very convenient leaving our coats in the room. Andrew and Danni go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Having appointments during the day, we mainly see Danni in the evenings. Always cheerful, helpful and runs around accommodating to guest needs. Wonderful environment for stressful times!
KAYCE was an amazing receptionist!! So helpful, friendly, caring and kind!
We are staying at the Residence Inn for an extended stay to go to the Mayo Clinic for medical treatment. It is a hallway away from everything we need. What we didn’t expect was how wonderful a difficult experience was made by a kind, caring staff. We get a full delicious breakfast every morning, thanks to Cheryl and Clayton, as well as warmly welcomed everyday by Andrew, Genevieve, Daniel, and many more. Each has treated us a friend and kindnesses above and beyond hotel service have been generously offered. Our room feels like home away from home. We are so thankful.
Nice hotel that allows you to access Mayo Clinic buildings without going outside, by walking the subway. Onsite parking garage is handy. Friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the free hot and cold breakfast. Cheryl and Clayton were especially helpful. The Maintenance guy was also very quick, helpful, and friendly.
Excellent experience, & staff was exceptional in all areas!! Will stay again! Kelly, front desk personnel, kind, caring, super helpful & always with a smile.
Best Continental breakfast I've ever had! Great variety!
