Pleasant stay, on the whole, but a few glitches.
Pros:

The room was pleasant, the location convenient and the staff friendly. Price was good for a room including an ok breakfast.

Cons:

Knocking on my door in the middle of the night from a courier who had the wrong room. He then stood calling out in the corridor. I opened the door in case there was some emergency, but he was just looking for someone else. It was a bit rattling. The bathroom was also not entirely clean.

Everything i wanted at a reasonable price
Pros:

Checked in after midnight. Security staff friendly and chatty. Reception friendly and really helpful.
Shower was a large unit, which, as a tall person, doesn't feel claustrophobic like a cubicle does. It made showering a lot nicer.

Cons:

There is a carpark opposite but its difficult to get to coming from the direction I approached the hotel from thanks to one way traffic
Booking.com gave me a choice of pay in advance or pay on arrival. I chose pay in advance and the payment was accepted. You can imagine my surprise when they asked me to make payment at reception. In my mind I feared paying twice. This was not a problem with the Ibis hotel: the problem was with booking.com

Pleasantly surprised - my first time at Ibis and preferred it to other similar chains.
Pros:

Liked the design of the room - smooth curves rather than straight edges. Also liked shower design - plenty of room, shower simple to operate and instant hot water.

Cons:

The "duvet' on the bed - it wasn't a duvet, just a thin but dense and heavy covering that didn't keep one properly warm
