It was sometimes good, sometimes bad. The housekeeping person was exceptionally nice.
Pros:

Some front desk staff were friendly and some were not. I love the Doubletree cookies. One housekeeping staff came by a day early stating our room was on a list of checkout for the day. It was front desk error, but she was most helpful and kind.

Cons:

Front desk texted/called several times: to ask if I had checked in (I had); to ask if I was checking out on three occasions (I was not). On the 2nd day, I had to go to front desk 3 times to rekey the lock and had to leave my friend, who has difficulty walking, alone in front of our room. The beds are extremely high and difficult to get on and off. Unfortunately, we had a room with a tub and that was dangerous and slippery.

Good Location and Rooms, but Dated Facilities and Many Inconveniences
Pros:

The location is great, on the lively neighborhood of Central Westfield End and right by the Med School campus. The room was comfortable, although bathroom and common areas a bit old

Cons:

The check in took forever; and once in the room we had to switch because the shower was broken (we were able to turn it on after lots of effort but then could not turn it off).
Our room was never cleaned during our 3 night stay; we were told rooms were cleaned only upon request the last day when we inquired about it, which we have never experienced in a hotel of this kind. The bathroom was allright but a bit time-worn. The keys kept de-activating all the time, so we had to go to the reception several times a day to re-activate them (even to enter the parking garage which was very inconvenient). Lastly there was a cannabis smell in many common areas. The elevators didn't require a key to go up to the rooms (there seemed to have been a system for it but it was deactivated)

Mixed feelings. Good for aged. Close to hospital for testing, but so spendy.

The cleaning ladies were nice and helpful.

Though bare, the rooms were clean.

Easy to use internet connection.

Comfortable bed

Good coffee and easy to use coffeemaker.

Cons:

It is the only hotel we have ever stayed in that charged you $14.95 per person for every breakfast. We travel a lot and stay in nice places. Everyone else has included breakfast. We were there for testing at a connected hospital and we had breakfast in their cafeteria for half the price and there were more choices.

It charged you daily for parking in the parking garage.

The decor was not welcoming when you entered the room. It seemed so bare, plain and cold. The window shades were difficult to open and close.

Pros:

Very upscale and clean. Staff was very helpful and very friendly. We were there for a surgery at BJC and it was directly connected to the hospital. It was really nice to walk through the hallway to get to where I needed.
I didn't have to leave for dinner either. Downstairs there is an Applebee's for the Hotel guests! Everything was so convenient for our stay. We do recommend if you have to go to Barnes for an overnight stay (such as an impatient surgery) and you live a few hours away like we do.(4hrs away) Definitely consider it. 😀

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

Fantastic employee
Pros:

Husband was a patient at Barnes Hospital. We booked here for the convenience. Alex was fantastic at the front desk. Friendly, polite, & was competent with his work. The hotel was comfortable & I felt safe.
