Bed
I don't like breakfast especially tea-it was cold. Also, personal on the kitchen , a dusty room
The rooms were clean. Safe location.
The room had a very noisy AC compressor that would wake me up in the middle of the night when it randomly goes off. Requested to change the room. The bed was very very soft, no support. The curtains didn’t work.
Did not know about breakfast . Coffee was good . Location to hospital was good for us.
Bathroom floor was really dirty. Hair and whatever was behind the door. Bathroom tub was dirty with hair on edges of it. Not enough grab bars for tub.
This place is the worst! Service is less than incompetent. They could not produce the room I was promised and tried to tell me the noisy side was an upgrade. I was told by the front desk that they are not Hilton, hmmm? So many issues and too many to enumerate here. One glaring incident - the parking garage has a sign saying “Doubletree by Hilton Parking”. When I couldn’t get my key to give access, I pushed the intercom button. The first words I hear are “I CAN’T HELP YOU!!" Seriously, this is hospitality now??
This hotel is conveniently located near Forest Park and right beside Barnes Jewish Hospital. Our room was upgraded and it was clean and spacious but the air conditioner in that room didn't work very well at all. No matter how low I set the thermostat, the temp in the room would not go below 72 degrees and I have difficulty breathing and sleeping when the temp isn't cooler. The bed was comfortable and if the a/c had worked I would have gotten a great night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was not very impressive at all but since it was mostly covered by my food & beverage credit I can't complain. I would stay at this location again but would ensure that the a/c was working properly or ask to be reassigned to another room.
friendly staff offering a refund
room was lowkey disgusting
- Leftover Chinese food
- Pubic hair on bathroom floor
- Crumbs and mud stains on couch
- Sticky patches on carpet
- Hairy boogers on lamp
- Stain on wall next to night stand
I liked the location and the bed. The couch in the room was nice too.
The lady at the front desk had no idea what she was doing. I had to use the bathroom bad and after I checked in I went to use my facilities and I couldn’t enter my room because she had me on the 8th floor and my room was on the 2nd floor. There was no pool, for $250 a night there should be a pool, breakfast was supposed to be included and it was not. Staff even double charged my cousin who was on the trip with me. I feel like this hotel is only trying to take advantage of people who need a place to stay near the hospitals, which is horrible.
After getting to our room I noticed a roach in the bathroom… I called the front desk and they promptly moved us to another room on a different floor. Later on that night, the front desk gentleman that checked us in was amazing and he actually paid for my drinks that I was buying from their little market and gave us an extended checkout since we were there for several doctors appointments next-door at Washington University / BJH. (He was making it right after the bug situation) The next morning I ran into a gentleman and I did not see that he was on his cell phone. All I asked was if he worked there and he said yes but continued to talk on the phone so I said never mind. I’ll talk to you later on…no big deal… The guy then says “never mind. I went ahead and hung up on the person that I was talking to”and continued to tell me how the person he was talking to was very important and was super hard to get a hold of, but I know at least five times he told me that he hung up on that person just so he could talk to me…. I explained what happened about the roach and I was trying to tell him how well the gentleman that was working that night handled the situation and I was trying to give him a compliment, but at the same time, let him know that they may need to spray for some bugs, but every single time I would try to say something the manager would only let me know that he hung up on somebody very important just to talk to me and he was making me feel like I was an inconvenience to him… not one time did the manager apologize regarding the bug and not one time did he say thank you for paying a compliment… I found out later that day that we checked out that the manager‘s name was Dan Gough. If I had to work for a manager like Dan I would quit!!! Now on the other hand Terry Haney was the gentleman that made the situation right by switching our rooms and his customer service was top tier!!! Terry Is a huge asset to that company and would be the only reason I would ever consider staying at that hotel again!!!
Tried to get a room last minute in person for and unexpected last minute stay. Unfortunately there was no room due to graduation events, but Alex went above and beyond calling multiple hotels to find me a room at another local Hilton location nearby. Excellent client service and would still stay at DoubleTree Forest Park another day. Thank you, Alex!
The ease of walking the short distance to the lung center, Applebees and the parking garage
Front staff, Terry and Alex, were very helpful, finding us a wheel chair. Our stay here was convenient for a medical visit to Barnes Jewish Hospital, which is accessible by a skywalk. Hotel has an Applebee’s Restaurant, and everything we needed.
Tv didn’t work bathroom had paint peeling tub had bad stains in tub that couldn’t be wiped out overall bathroom needed redone a/c was so loud
Tv and bathroom and A/C was loud
The location next to an Applebee's and the hospital. Everything I needed was in walking distance. The couch in the room was a nice touch as well.
I paid extra for a view and it was just a view from the buildings across the street. The bathtub has paint chipping and it seemed to be clogged at times.
The staff was friendly and attentive. They would send daily texts to check in on us and make sure that we were enjoying our stay.
The only thing I did not like was the check in process. It had limited parking in the entryway and you have to go inside to obtain your room key in order to have access to the parking garage.
Closeness to hospital, ease to get to hospital.
Cost for families with babies in hospital
That it was attached to the Children’s Hospital. You never had to leave your car or go outside.
Did they had you pay $15 for breakfast and $15 a day to park your car?
Good location and midday check out
The room had a broken thermostat. I changed room and although it appeared to have some control over the temperature of the room it still wasn’t effective.
There was a broken coffee machine and plug socket.
Noisy air handling system.
