Great option to stay in Funchal if you have a car! I stayed in other more famous hotels and totally different experience
Pros:

Everything was just perfect! Very welcoming, very quiet and peaceful, great food!

Cons:

It’s a little cooler here because we are uphill

Très calme,le parc est magnifique, un très bel endroit.
Corbeille de fruit et renouvellement de la bouteille d'eau dans la chambre.

Cons:

Insonorisation des chambres moyenne, bébé qui pleurs dans la chambre au dessus, mais cela n'arrive pas forcément. Sinon parfait

Het zwembad, de sauna, de grote kamer met fijn bed en het goede ontbijt.

Cons:

Dineren in het hotel. De keuze op de kaart, de prijs die ze er voor vragen en het lange wachten door onderbezetting personeel. Gelukkig hadden we hier niet all-in geboekt en konden we omdat we een auto hadden uitwijken naar Funchal.

Der gesamte Aufenthalt war geprägt von Schock und Enttäuschung und steht in krassem Widerspruch zu dem, was man von eine

Cons:

Für ein Fünf-Sterne-Hotel mit einem Preis von 343 € pro Nacht ist dieses Erlebnis absolut inakzeptabel.

Das Zimmer war in einem desolaten Zustand: Die gesamte Einrichtung wirkte stark veraltet, an Fenstern und Wänden war deutlich sichtbarer Schimmel vorhanden. Im Badezimmer war der Föhn defekt – er fiel beinahe auseinander und wurde so heiß, dass man sich daran die Finger verbrannt hat.

Zusätzlich funktionierten weder Heizung noch Klimaanlage, wodurch es im Zimmer unangenehm kalt war. Erholung war unter diesen Umständen nicht möglich.

Auch der Service im Restaurant war enttäuschend: Sowohl beim Frühstück als auch beim Abendessen mussten wir jeweils etwa 1,5 Stunden auf unser Essen warten.

Insgesamt steht das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in keinem Verhältnis. Für diesen Preis habe ich noch nie ein derart schlechtes Hotel erlebt.

Fabelhafte Unterkunft mit sehr viel Charme!

Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft. Sehr schönes, historisches Haupthaus mit Charme. Sehr gutes, abwechslungsreiches Frühstück und ein wunderschöner, großer Park.

Great quiet get away in the mountains, low key perfection.
Pros:

Quiet, beautiful gardens, free parking and a very good breakfast.

Cons:

Coffee wasn’t the best, and the bedding was very hot.
I felt for the staff, there were essentially 3 people running the hotel at all times, at the pool, in the restaurant, the upstairs bar, and they were flying around but always smiling and happy to help where they could. Felt a little understaffed.
