Woukd stay again when remodeling is completed. Staff were awesome.
Pros:

Easy access. Rooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable.

Cons:

We were on second floor where there was obviously work done in the hallway. Odor of paint was very strong in hallway and evident in room. We had to open window to let fresh air into the room.

Pros:

Breakfast was great & really good coffee. The staff was very good.

Cons:

Well, to be fair, they are in the middle of a remodel. Our room desperately needed an upgrade. Poor lighting at the sink, old bathroom, but other than that, good pricing. We would stay here again, especially knowing the facilities are being remodeled.

Property was not clean. Cigarette butts all around rear entrance. Rear entrance did not lock. I was put right next to rear entrance and laundry room. So much traffic up to 2 am with smokers in and out. There was a gap in my door big enough to see people come and go. The bed was way past prime. Needs to be replaced. Pillows too. Last year I stayed here and it was very nice. So I was disappointed this year

Surprise upgrade!
Pros:

This was close to our destination and very clean, the staff was so friendly and even gave us a room upgrade! The breakfast was a nice bonus too!

Cons:

Ther is not an elevator at this location. Not a bad thing as it's just 2 flights of stairs, but it is just nice to know ahead of time as I DO have a bum knee.

I think that the pool area needs some work. Not the pool itself but the Bathroom in there and the doors it is really bad shape 😩it would not take much to make it look beautiful again !

Josh at the front desk is great!
Pros:

Josh at the front desk was wonderful—so welcoming and kind. He genuinely seemed to enjoy working there, which says a lot about how the staff is treated. The hotel has a cozy, homey feel with all the live plants, which we really liked.

Breakfast was fresh, warm, and surprisingly good for a hotel. The blueberry muffins tasted homemade, the waffles were a big hit with the kids, and my husband loved the buttermilk biscuits and gravy.

The beds had good-quality sheets, and while the furniture and mattresses were a bit dated, everything felt clean and well maintained. The walls, ceilings, and windows all seemed upkept. I also loved that the sink was separate from the shower and toilet—super helpful when multiple people are getting ready.

The pillows were older, but honestly, at 43 I should know by now to bring my own, so that one’s on me! The heat ran warm—even with zero-degree temps at night, 62° in the room felt too hot for us.

If a large TV is important, this may not be your place—the room has an older, smaller one. However, we appreciated having a mini fridge and microwave. Parking was plentiful.

Like other reviewers mentioned, the doors are thin, so if you want to sleep in, choose a room away from the lobby. That wasn’t a problem for us since we were up early to ski at Nubs Nob.

The pool and hot tub appeared clean, though the pool area had a mild musty/mildew smell. Nothing overpowering. After skiing all day, we still really enjoyed the 102° hot tub. The pool was warm too, and the pool room itself was hot and steamy at around 84°.

Overall, a comfortable, friendly place with great staff and a cozy vibe. We’d stay again.

Proximity to hospital good;; handicap accomodations poor.

Cons:

Handicapped room had a VERY low toilet. It did have support rails but the toilet height was definitely NOT for a handicapped person with hip issues). I was at the area for hip replacement the following day at the hospital and knew there was absolutely no way we could return to the AmerInn that night. We had to make other arrangements and we did. Staff was very accomodating

Weekend stay in January
Pros:

This place was very nice! The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast spread had a large variety, and the staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing and memorable.
Pros:

We had such a wonderful stay. We stayed from a Friday-Sunday and we truly didn’t want to leave. From the amazing stay at the hotel to the quaint downtown of Charlevoix, it was an incredible trip. The hotel staff was exceptionally kind, making us want to come back. If you had to get stuck and snowed in anywhere, this is the place!

Zero disappointments.
