Convenient location and a nice breakfast.
There was a power outage during our stay, and the team did nothing to communicate the power status to us.
Our breakfast was cancelled because of the outage. We also had a dinner reservation at the hotel, but it was unclear whether it would be cancelled due to the power issue. At noon, we asked the front desk to please call us when the power returned, so that we would know if they were serving dinner. The front desk told us they were not able to call us without power, but that we should make backup plans for dinner. Being Valentine’s Day in a small city, no restaurants we checked were taking day of reservations.
The power returned at 3pm, but the hotel did not call us to let us know. We went to the public pool to shower since the hot water was not running - something we would not have done on Valentine’s Day if the staff let us know the power was back on. The hotel picked up when I called at 5pm, and confirmed they were serving dinner, only after we had spent most of our afternoon trying to find a new dinner reservation.
When checking out, we requested comp for the cancelled breakfast - we paid extra to stay at a bed and breakfast. The desk said that since our breakfast was complimentary, they would not reimburse the cost.
I want to like this place, it’s a lovely inn with a great location, but the lack of communication and empathy from the staff make an unfortunate power outage into a stressful and frustrating getaway.
Breakfast was exceptional.
Wifi was sporadic and so was the TV.
Excellent hotel with amazing Tea service
Nothing
Breakfast was an amazing high tea experience, and Ashwin helped us to change our room to a bigger one. He was so nice and helpful. Our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable.
The breakfast was tasty and presented very nicely. The Inn and the room itself had a lot of character. The staff was very nice and personable.
I think the windows are single paned and, in our room which faced the harbour, the outside noise, particularly the construction work across the street, really effected the experience.
The service was great and the food was even better. Coming on boxing day was so nice to see everything so decorated and being walking distance from our favorite stores didn't hurt either.
The bed and pillows weren't the most comfortable in my opinion but that's not the worst thing in the world.
