Please note The Hermitage Hotel does not have any leisure facilities on site. Our guests are welcome to use the facilities at our sister property, the Suncliff Hotel, which include a heated indoor pool, sauna, and mini gym. These are located a short walk from the property.
Please note that this property cannot accommodate hen and stag parties. Internet is not always available at the hotel. Please inquire upon arrival.
If dinner is not requested upon booking, then there will be an extra charge in addition to the stated amount.
Please note that onsite parking is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis and chargeable at GBP 14 per car per night. It is not possible to reserve parking prior to arrival. There are also several public car parks nearby as well.
Any type of extra bed or child's cot or crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by Central Reservations. Supplements are not calculated automatically in the total costs and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.
For all payments made and booking types, the card holder must be present on check-in, and the same card must be presented for a security swipe via chip and pin on arrival. Failure to provide the same card will result in the payment being refunded to the original card, and an alternative payment method requested before check-in will be permitted. The property reserves the right to charge bookings in full up to 48 hours prior to arrival during weekends and peak times, regardless of reservation policies.
Please note that the property can only accommodate dogs with a maximum weight of 10 kg or less.

Please note that dogs will incur an additional charge of GBP 20 per day per dog.
As a matter of courtesy to other guests, dogs are only allowed in certain outdoor public areas at the hotel, mainly because food is served throughout our bars, lounges, restaurants, and terrace areas.

A pet bond must be signed at check-in, along with a GBP 50 refundable deposit. Any damage, soiling, or excessive dog hair on soft furnishings will incur specialist cleaning charges.
Please note that this property can accommodate dogs but will not accommodate other types of pets. Guide and assistance dogs are exempt from this policy, and charges for providing the correct certificate or paperwork are provided on check-in.
The hotel elevator services the hotel from the ground, first and second floors. The elevator does not go to the third floor, which is serviced by a staircase on the second floor.
Guests who are unable to manage stairs should inform the hotel in advance. Our Superior Rooms and Suites have stair access only. The hotel might not have the flexibility to change rooms to meet this request upon arrival. At least one guest per room must be over 18 years of age; minors are not permitted in their own accommodations without prior consent of the hotel.
Please ensure the correct occupancies are selected on booking; failure to do so may result in your check-in being refused. Identification will be required for age verification purposes.
All bookings of 6 or more rooms booked together will be treated as group bookings as per Oceana Hotels’ policy. Group bookings will be contacted within 7 days of making the reservation and will be treated as advance purchase bookings. The full nonrefundable payment will be required within 7 days of the reservation being made; no cancelations, modifications, or refunds will be permitted for any group bookings. These group terms and conditions override any rate policy that has been booked. In case of payments not received within 7 days of the booking being made, the hotel reserves the right to cancel the booking without any liability or further communication.This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties.

We booking our staff with parking facilities. On arrival the car park there was no parking for our family so we aborted our stay.

The location was perfect!! Not too far from shops, restaurants and a 5min walking distance to east cliff beach and pier! Especially if you have little ones it was just a stroll away. Breakfast was good with choices that were reasonable and tasty. Everyone had something they could eat and be satisfied. Rooms were spacious for a family of 5! Bonus to have closet space and ironing equipment, hair dryers with frequent cleaned rooms. Great family friendly hotel with parking! If you dont want the kids to swim in the sea, there were hotels (20min walk) that allowed us to swim in there indoor pool for free because we stayed at this hotel (neighbouring hotel benefits ).. Result!
The family room said bunked beds but had only two beds and a pull out bed which made me uneasy thinking my kids could fall off. Kids room didn't have an air conditioner and stuffy at night, but was given a fan which was nice. Towel heating rail was not working and didn’t get sorted but apologetic and caring
The hotel was central to the beach. Although the constant emergency service sirens late into the night were disturbing as the hot weather required the windows to be open.
We were on the 4th floor. Exciting the lift on this floor was difficult as the lift door to the outside wall were only as deep as my electric wheelchair. Manoeuvring out of the left was challenging.
The disabled toilet on the ground floor was situated inside the women's toilet. Accessible through 2 doors. Not ideal as you had to push the door open with your feet.
Location is great- right near the pier and park. The sea view suite was good although in reality we only got a “sea glimpse”. I was really happy with the available EV charging.
The foyer and bar were a little odoriferous- cooking smells were strong. Parts of the hotel smelled of cigarettes. The hotel is old, but interesting.
I booked a room with sea view and half board. I absolutely love this hotel. It's real value for money. I arrived earlier than planned, (13:30) So I was very pleasantly suprised that my room was ready, when I arrived at the hotel. Staf was friendly. Breakfast and diner was excellent. Room was clean and tidy. And the venue BIC next door to the hotel. What's not to like. I definitely will come back here again. Another fun note; when I checked out they had a teddybear at the reception desk for sale. Pacha (receptionist) had just placed it on the reception desk, 5 minutes before. And as I absolutely love teddybears, I instantly bought one. I happened to be the first guest to buy one on the day. :)
