Wow it's been amazing I and my family spending days with Novotel portharcourt , one of the laundry attendant named MEELUBARI and house keeping attendance called NKE CHI has been so caring and concerned about me and my family's comfort . My experiences with Novotel was like no others
I love everything about this place, the clean rooms, surrounding, good food and above all the security and safety of guests.
Thank you
My stay at this Novotel hotel was an unmitigated disaster. I arrived on the same day I booked, and was immediately struck by the overpowering mouldy smell when I walked into the elevator. Things only got worse when I entered my room, which was in a state of disrepair. The rug was stained and worn, and the decay was palpable. I knew I had to get out of there, so I contacted Expedia to request a refund. But the hotel refused, leaving me stuck in for five days. The WiFi was nonexistent, the towels and sheets were old and even the toilet paper was the cheapest in the market. And if all that wasn't enough, I saw cockroaches scurrying around during breakfast. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how this hotel managed to get such glowing reviews and if this reviews are legitimate. After spending four weeks in Europe and two weeks at the Best Western Oxbow Lake Yenagoa, this experience was a rude awakening.
I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. I was denied entry while trying to visit a friend who is a registered guest, and no clear reason was given. I was treated rudely and unfairly by the staff at the entrance, and the situation was handled with a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy.
As someone who values respect and basic hospitality, I found the behaviour shocking and unacceptable. A hotel should treat all guests and their visitors with dignity. If there is a policy in place, it should be clearly communicated and applied consistently, not selectively or with bias.
I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who expects fair treatment, proper communication, or even the most basic level of customer service. Extremely disappointing.
I was there with my husband and 2 young kids.
Hotel has a smell that is unpleasant and doesn’t go away. The rug needs washing. Room AC wouldn’t work we were sweating at night. Even the bathroom door wouldn’t shut. Stayed 2nights. This hotel is short staffed, one person doing 10 people’s job function . I struggled with their service because I had high expectations but alas! There’s a maintenance overhaul that needs to be done.
The bright side is their food. They had a variety for buffet and it was very good
Mtn n hotel WiFi reception in my room 125 are very terrible. Almost all guest are bitterly complaining about it. Guest can only get good WiFi network along the corridor. You guys should install WiFi access point in the rooms cos if not I won’t patronize this hotel again after I checkout. In fact I’m even thinking of checking out today n lodge in another hotel with better WiFi connectivity. I can’t be parading myself at corridor to connect to WiFi.
A constant guest @ Novotel whenever I am in PH.
Nice and clean hotel with exceptional front desk team. Especially Mrs Rejoice for her supportive and friendly assistance in welcoming guests. Nice food too.
Looking forward to my next stay soon.
Esther and Simple were dedicated in doing their house cleaning job. Their performance was top-notch and quite commendable. The room ambience was quite romantic and the feeling was like another home full of relaxation and so much comfort. Please keep up the good work guys..
Nice services, cute room, location and amenities are nice too. The meals and the front desk staff are what i like most.
Excellent Hotel.....Great Staff.....Great Breakfast....Rooms Could Be Upgraded a Little especially on 1st Floor.....Some Painting......
Everything is horrible, only security is commendable. The rooms are full of mold and damp. Old TV. They checked me into a room that had a bad shower, room 101. At about 11 am when I needed to bath, water wasn’t flowing , I told the front desk lady and afte she changed the key she started laughing at me in the phone with someone else. Worst stay ever, thank God it was for a night. It was a traumatic stay… stay away from this hotel if can’t stand dirt and mouldy damp rooms
The other services are good, the restaurant is exceptional as the attendants kept restocking the supplies and are polite and courteous.
However, the wifi in my room didn't work for the 4 days I stayed here. It was really terrible on the 1st floor, I complained but nothing tangible was done to resolve it.
The walls on my bedside have these patches like bad drainage or unfinished work. The Management needs to upgrade the appearance of the rooms.
Generally, it was a good stay apart from those 2 defects highlighted above.
Staff Very Good as Always.
Room 317 Bathroom Mouldy, Lights not working correctly....no Tissues in Room....
Breakfast Excellent
Check In Very Quick....Although there was only one staff on at the time.
It’s a lovely place Though they’ve done some renovations but they need to replace the mattress as they’re sinking and causing me back pains. The curtains are old too and needs to be replaced too. Thank you
What a shame that this hotel is under the Novotel chain.
Worst hotel ever......... A total disgrace, old, dirty, bud service and on top your are paying 300 hundred dollar a night.
Had to change 3 rooms, as first one has mold on the wall and Ac, dirty line and new towel that were dirty..
2nd room offered was next to Generator with huge Noice and was rejected and on the last night after a lot of complains finally they moved me to another room which was indeed bigger and at least decent but on the 2nd room where was the loving rooms was a small room/space which totally unfinished. Suppose that there was going to be a 2nd WC but yet to be.
Asked for if the room has mineral water complimentary and the rude lady in charge of the reception told me that this is the hotel policy not offer even a single small bottle of water and instead if had to use the water dispenser in the corridor.
Food was mainly buffet but local style and even for local standard was too bud accordingly to my local colleagues who had dinner with me.
Breakfast was bud................ Just to mention simply they dont have butter in the Breakfast........................
I had stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world but that the first time ever that hotel did not had butter for Breakfast.
To pay USD 300 per nigh there is a joke.....Faild to understand how this awful hotel has such a good score...
Worst hotel Ever.............. NO WAY TO COME BACK EVEN IF IT IS FOR FREE.
Not knowing what to expect from a place which I was visiting for the first time for work, this hotel both surprised and unsurprised me.
A nice hotel if you are staying for a few days with all the amenities minus the frills. Do not expect too much other than a comfortable stay, this hotel has all that one needs to get by.
The property is rather old and so are the rooms, the rooms have all the basic amenities. The carpets could do with a change or wash and the housekeeping staff with some training in good hygiene practices such as wearing gloves while cleaning the bathrooms. The elevators need replacement as well. Would have expected more from a brand such as Novotel/Accor group.
The bed was ok but the pillows were firm, thick and very uncomfortable had a hard time falling asleep and finally had to throw the pillows aside.
The hotel has a bar and a restaurant in the lobby which is a good option to relax in the evening.
The staff are friendly and polite. A big shout out to Florentina from the front office who was always smiling and cheerful and helpful. I hope the hotel gives her the recognition she deserves.
Overall, a comfortable stay in a no-frills hotel.
Excellent Hotel.
Reception Staff very Polite and Courteous.
Breakfast Very Good
Bar Service Very Efficient,
Room Very Spacious and was given an Upgrade.
All Aspects of Being Platinum Member were fulfilled....Welcome Drink etc.
It’s a good hotel near the heliport. Stayed here one night while in transit on my way to Lagos. Rooms are nice and food is good. Hotel could use some remodeling in the corridors and the elevators but overall it’s fine. Rooms are comfortable and quiet.
Dont know where to start. Unfortunately have to stay here multiple times may june july.
The instant coffee in the rooms is rock hard and has a generic wrapper. This is every single time I have stayed. There is no drinking water in the rooms. Good luck ordering room service , it is like faulty towers only worse, whatever you order they dont have, EVERY time. They tell you to go the buffet instead, tried twice both times modt things empty.
A french hotel chain where you cant even get a coffee?? Not sure what else is in Port harcourt and my company keeps putting us there but if yu can, then avoid like the plague. Oh yeah the pillow are sall 'square ' pillows that are like sleeping on timber. People on front desk are nice and there is noce pool and bar area but I wouldnt bother. All the above are every time not one offs.
