Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Winchester by IHG

As an IHG Platinum member since 2015 my wife and I stay mostly in IHG properties. I would have given a much higher review. Newly remodeled and very nice rooms. Friendly staff. Why one star?

My wife and I were traveling home from Florida and thought this historic town would be a nice overnight with dinner. It was. During the night my bottle of water slightly spilled and I knocked my Bose Earpuds off the night stand. Oh I’ll pick them up in the morning. Well I forgot about them and realized only when I got home at 2pm. I immediately called the hotel. I told them exactly where they should be. Right side of bed. Since I didn’t hear back I called. They looked all over and didn’t find. Obviously someone took them and didn’t have the honesty to turn them in. I didn’t make this up. I can afford a new pair. Just the thought of a staff member not being honest really gets me. As a past hotel executive for a major brand I would expect better from an employee.

Great place to stay!!

The hotel is finishing up some renovations, and the fresh room I was able to get was fantastic. Very clean and being an early sleeper/early riser, I really appreciate the blackout setup on the windows!
Excellent breakfast setup for health-nuts and splurgers alike!

Very speedy check in!!

Our hotel room was clean, comfortable and we got a restful night of sleep. Assistant Manager Tamra recognized us as Platinum Elite members, while being very friendly and helpful, as she checked us in. Jackie in the breakfast area was also very helpful and had a smile on her face. The scrambled eggs she had prepared were very fluffy and delicious (way better than most we have encountered over the years)! Looking forward to our next stay.

Was nice

We had a great experience. Although the regular check-in time was 3 PM, the staff kindly let us check in around 1:30 PM which was very helpful. The indoor pool and hot tub were a big plus and since not many people were using them, it felt like a private facility just for us. The location is convenient, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was great. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. Thank you for the excellent service and hospitality!

Overall is was a nice place to stay, clean and convenient for visiting family. However, I asked for handicapped assessable for my mom and we ended up on the 3rd floor in the last room at the end of the hallway. A little to far for her to walk. I should have been more specific in our needs.

They are remodeling which is great but outside the door need room 134 theres a red dumpster and on the ground was screws, nails and other unsafe things that didnt make it in the dumpster. Other then that our weekend stays was great

Parking price was high. No internet service. Pillows on bed were not comfortable!!!

So we didn’t know we would be arriving while they were renovating, which I know is unavoidable sometimes, but that said, check-in was at 3, so when we arrived at 6, our room should have been ready. It was not and the person who checked us in didn’t even seem to realize how late it was! Then when we finally got our new room, the pullout sofa bed we requested wasn’t made, and instead of sending someone up to deliver bedding or come up and make the bed, they made us come down and get a weird duffel bag full of bedding and make the bed ourselves. Seems like for what we paid for a suite (which was barely bigger than a normal room) we should’ve gotten better service. Also the hot tub was full of little kids so we couldn’t enjoy it. Plus the brand-new breakfast kitchen had a pancake machine that didn’t work, and a brand new table being stabilized with a styrofoam cup? Hopefully they’ll finish improving things soon—beds were comfortable, sound-proofing was good, and there’s a very cute little town nearby.

Our stay was excellent. Very friendly staff and everything clean and beautifully renovated recently. All the front desk staff and special shout out to housekeeper Stacy. We will be back!

There are currently construction works within the hotel. This is a slightly negativ point. But overall, it was clean and nice.

From checking in late from a long day of driving all the way to the next morning when we had to continue on our journey with our four children was exceptionally wonderful service. The lady at the front desk was sweet and kind very helpful. Went above and beyond. Just very impressed with this place. Clean, even though going through renovations. Would stay here again.
