We had an excellent time at Fairfield Inn. The hotel was in excellent condition, both room & common area. The coffee was hot and the food was hot. This was a great hotel for a last minute trip to KC. Affordable, supremely located, and very easy to find.
We rode the train in to see the Big Boy 4014 steam locomotive. Thanks to Kansas City’s commitment to the renewal of a world class transportation system, being the Main Street Streetcar, we were able to travel from Union Station to our Hotel, 2 stops down at Union Hill, using only the fare-free Streetcar. Utilizing affordable, comfortable transportation options allowed us to enjoy the short day in KC with merchandise from the event, multiple incredible local meals, and a few drinks to end the evening. We will be back to explore the rest of the area very soon.
Nice hotel in a good area with a friendly efficient staff. Cheikh and Carlos made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

Location is a bit sketchy walking south but stay North and you will be good. The hotel was clean, free breakfast, and great staff.
The room we had, 105, had a recently remodeled bathroom. Everything was clean. Bed was comfortable. The pool and fitness room are conveniently right down the hall on 1. The lobby, breakfast area was roomy.
The hotel is right on Main street in the Union Hill area on the free KC streetcar route. Super easy to travel from the River City Market down to the Plaza shopping area. We enjoyed our stay.
The location was generally good.
The door was difficult to open and people were loudly opening and shutting doors at 3am and 4am (stayed on bottom floor).
The value was decent.
The room was generally well furnished and clean but it was confusing how to turn on the lights which were dim even when all on.
The metal "shutters" that rest on top of the toilet paper and make it cut off over and over too early are frustrating. These are not restrooms. These are poo toil rooms where excrement cleaning is an uphill battle.
