The member of staff at check-in was so so lovely – very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the shower was good. I loved that check out was at 12pm!
The room was a little noisy — another guest had dogs that barked and there was lots of banging around 11pm. The location was also kind of the middle of nowhere. It worked for me as it was between town and the bay campus, but there isn't anything around, unless you count McDonalds.
Everything
They always provide the ground floor rooms looking at the parking where it is not comfortable to open the window.
Having lived in Swansea a few years ago I already knew the location would be good but the area has changed over time. The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast was good. A full cooked English breakfast (eggs were scrambled or boiled not fried) was available, as well as a wide range of cereals, toast, croissants, fruit, yoghurt and continental options. We enjoyed having Welsh cakes available and everything was fresh and replaced quickly if it ran out. Overall it was also pretty cheap for a hotel close to the city and with breakfast.
The hotel room felt tired and in need of a refurb. We stayed in an ‘accessible twin’ room which suited our needs (limited mobility but not wheelchair user) to help future disabled visitors I do need to outline some issues. The room was a fair size but the beds were pushed together and unless you basically want to share a bed with the person you’re with (which I’m assuming most people who book twins don’t) then there wasn’t really enough room on either side to get a wheelchair down and transfer. There were also really limited plug sockets in the room and most (a cube extension cord and single socket) were at floor level with only one at bed level but this was at head/pillow height above a bed. The reading light lamps had dangling cords over the beds. This was ok for us but some might struggle. The pillows were all rock solid and the mattresses might be a bit soft for some wheelchair users to transfer. The ‘accessible’ bathroom had a heavy door that swung shut to get into as well as a sizeable ledge to get over (the hotel entrance and room door also had big ledges). It was a wet room with a shower chair but it had no shower curtain so the whole floor got soaked and there was no room to fit a wheelchair and grab bars seemed quite low to aid safe transfer to the chair - there were also no pull down rails in the shower area just one at the toilet. The shower was very high up and impossible to move up or down on its bar. I suspect transfer from a wheelchair to the toilet would also be very difficult because you’d need to park in the shower area which had an angled floor for drainage. There was a decent space under the sink to pull a wheelchair into but it was taken up with 3 different bins.
One final frustration was the tv remote. It had very small buttons that seemed to work using prayer and luck rather than pressure.
I have stayed at the Ibis Hotel for just over six months, and throughout my entire stay the team has been consistently professional, welcoming, and attentive.
The standard of service has been exceptional, and nothing has ever felt like too much trouble. The staff have created an environment that is comfortable, respectful, and genuinely well-managed.
I’m very grateful for the care and consistency shown during my time here and would happily recommend the hotel to others.
room was very nice clean and i was very happy with it.
unusual traffic in the carpark lots of people just hanging around in cars sitting and talking to what i presume is staff. also noticed a very strong smell of cannabis so had to keep my window shut. we were staying at this hotel by the recommendation of singleton hospital as my partner was having a surgical procedure and we had travelled all the way from north wales we also spoke other people who were in a group of people having the same procedure on different dates and they when talking to them they also stayed at the ibis and said they also smelt cannabis and noticed unusual traffic in the carpark
Excellent free parking. Near to supermarket.
Excellent staff, Friendly and went above and beyond

Staff were very friendly, breakfast was ok.
Nothing really, it is what it is.
Quarto grande e grande, staff muito simpático
Cheiro a fritos na entrada do hotel, algo longe do centro
Very clean and a lovely staff team.
My room was facing the main road which was very busy and noisy.
As soon as we entered the corridor outside our room it smelled strongly of cannabis. Our room also smelled of cigarette smoke. The room was pretty grim with chipped paint on the walls and skirting boards. There was only one pillow each on the bed and some of the lights didn't work. We had a kettle with tea and coffee but no mugs. I wouldn't stay here again which is a shame because it's so convenient for the city centre and the staff are lovely and friendly.
Location was perfect for our stay in Swansea. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good value.
Good hotel, expectable room, same as in each ibis which is good thing!
I bit far away, but 25 min walking will get you into city center
The hotel was quite no noisy late revellers turning up part at night. Peaceful
Free morning coffee
Room was nice and spacious. Hotel was quite and staff were polite and helpful whenever needed. Location was great with just a short walk into swansea city centre and a macdonald's next door.
I have no complaints. For a cheap place to rest your head the Ibis swansea is perfect for a solo traveller or a couple on a city break.
