We are heading home from a 10 night stay. We loved every minute of it, the hotel facilities are brillant, extremely clean and staff can't do enough for you. Rooms are bright and stylish, cleaned everyday and sheets changed everyday if you wanted. The shower is powerful, nothing worse than a weak shower.
The pool area is stunning, plenty of sun loungers and you cant reserve beds which they do inforce. I would highly recommend staying here..Special shout out to Miguel from reception, such a friendly guy! We will definately be coming back again with our daughter.
We visited the GF. Gran a number of times but this was our first stay since the refurb. The hotel certainly has a fresher more modern feel to it, especially the rooms and the dining room, but there doesn’t appear to be many major upgrades to facilities. Rooms and showers are good, sunbeds comfy and service is fine. Food is ok, not amazing but probably fairly typical of standard all inclusive fayre. For us the selling feature is its price and location: decent hotel within walking distance of the beach, and not wildly expensive. Nothing to mown about, nothing to rave about.
Breakfast excellent
All good
La tranquilidad y el silencio
Visited the newly renovated Gran at Easter with my Family. Breakfast was excellent, new swimming pool is a great addition for kids.
Rooms are looking great and staff work very hard to make your stay as good as possible.
This is the third time we have stayed here and can’t wait to return.
Have stayed at this beautiful hotel many times before as I previously had really enjoyed the adult only roof terrace and pool area and great service entertainment and dining experience. However on this visit i’m sad to say did not meet my expectations for the following reasons. Firstly I had requested a high floor and quiet room we were given room 422 overlooking a newly installed pair of splash pools and slides for children the noise from both pools was very noticeable and i couldn’t sit on balcony read or have a drink in peace during the day
secondly and the first time I have encountered this was the roof terrace and pool for adults was kept locked until 10am so people were queuing from 9 am to get the prime spots ! I refuse to queue on holiday as it’s too hot, demeaning and could potentially cause discord. Thirdly the main dining room has relaxed its rules in men’s clothing that they can wear shorts to dinner, I saw some men walking around in swim shorts and flip flops. I like to dress nicely for dinner and my partner also, So we felt the standards have been too lowered. We also noted that the food was not hot on some occasions and saw a person put their hand into food at the server to sample and eat while standing there! The staff work incredibly hard and we were treated very well I want to mention our waiter Besay in particular there was always something for us to eat both at breakfast and dinner. the entertainment was as good as ever and bar hall waiters very good Our room service was good and all of the staff and we’re lovely but I feel that this Hotel is now aiming for family’s at the expense of Adult only visitors and I didn’t enjoy this holiday like I have before so I’m not sure I will return
We stayed at this hotel previously just before they closed for renovation. Our stay at that time was fabulous and definitely 5 star. So when we booked again after the renovations we were expecting something really special. What a disappointment this has been.
We booked this for our 40th Wedding Anniversary trip and so I contacted the hotel prior to arrival to let them know in the hope we might have been given a better room. I understand this cannot be guaranteed but the room we were given was on the second floor at the back of the hotel. Sitting on the balcony all you could see was the top of the rocks or the sky as the balcony has no railings or glass but just a small cut out of the stone wall. In order to see anything you had to stand and lean over the balcony.
The second disappointment are the renovations. The rooms have been modernised but have had all the character removed. When we stayed last time I really felt as though we were in a 5 star room but this time was just an ordinary modernised room which, was also surprising to see, had not had the floor tiles in the main part of the room renewed so there were a lot of cracked tiles. The shower design is such that water runs out of the shower tray and into the room. To stop this you have to place the floor mat which then gets soaking so the next person to shower has to stand on a wet floor mat when leaving the shower. Very poor design.
The lifts in the hotel were terrible with some totally out of action and others very intermittent. We were told by another guest that several people had been trapped in one of the lifts and had to be rescued.
The service was quite hit and miss. We had to wait an hour for our cases to be brought to the room and a further several hours and 2 phone calls to get tea and coffee, despite being told it would arrive in 10 minutes. Some of the maids were brilliant while others were quite poor. On the first morning one of the bins was not emptied. The tables in the bar have QR Codes but you cannot order from these only see the menu. You then have to walk to the bar to order drinks.
In summary I would say this hotel has slipped from its 5 star status to at most 4 star and, having briefly visited their sister hotel the GF Victoria, I would recommend booking there instead of the GF Gran.
Definitely Not a 5 star Hotel.
Me & my husband have just got back from stayed at this hotel . It has had Beautiful refurbishment, and cosmetically it certainly lives up to expectations. The overall look and feel of the hotel is very modern, clean, and very well presented. It is very well maintained, spacious, and a great place to relax. Good location, We also found that all the staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, the all-inclusive food and drink offering were very disappointing and did not reflect a 5-star standard.
The main restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, consistently fell short. Food was often left sitting cold, the variety was limited, also the quality was mediocre and frequently repeated daily . The snack bar was also disappointing, with many of the better options requiring an additional charge which defeats the purpose of an all-inclusive experience. Not allowed coffee in the dining room at lunch . Have to pay for ice lollies, No water bottles to top up throughout the day ,No cocktail bar where you could sample a good selection of cocktails with out paying extra . Most all inclusive drinks were pre mixed and very limited, . The roof top adult only pool was delightful, but again the drinks were limited , no waiters taking drink orders , only snacks at lunch were fruit salad or a boxed sandwich. Ice creams extra . Many people claiming the beds without ever using them . The room service was not included either . Most of the drink and food options were coming in at an extra cost. Overall, while the hotel looks fantastic and has some strong positives, the food and drink offering significantly detracts from the experience of a 5* luxury holiday .
4* max.
Also we were told of some work going on and was told we would be moved away from any disruption! But 8.30am the drilling started and that was the end to our lie in !
This was our first time in the GF Gran Costa Adeje, althogh Tenerife is our go to holiday destination and we have been to other hotels around the island.
We arrived at 10 pm and a good first impression on arrival at the hotel, quickly checked in by a very polite staff member (Juan) The hotel was spotlessly clean.
First impressions of our room were great too, spacious room, bathroom with twin sinks, and a perfect walk in shower. Lovely big TV , fridge & everything you would expect!
We were situated at the rear of the hotel which for the most part was quiet, we did have some close neibours that were quite loud at times late at night, however on closing the doors we didn't really hear them too much.
We chose the bed and breakfast option as a change to our normal routine of all inc.
Breakfast was great too, plenty of choice, all the usual health options, you name it it was there. There was a lady doing omlettes to order, who had a great system going. Polite, fast and efficient, this became my go to breakfast item!
Breakfast staff were all very polite.
My only area for improvement would be the breakfast coffee, i had a coffee with milk every morning, and this was so STRONG! Even after asking for extra hot milk. No real issue though.
Spent many days by the pools, its great to see the no reserving sunbed rules being enforced, plenty of beds to go around, so no problem.
Ate some days in the pool resurant, again polite staff, great food.
The Duke shopping centre is a minute walk down the road, with a free Siam Mall / ParkBus stop right outside every half an hour, ( See posted times)
Hyperdino supermarket there too.
This hotel is ideally situated, close enough, to things, Del Duque beach is a 5-10 minute walk away.
All staff very friendly, and happy to help you.
There is nothing to dislike from our experience, and will be booking again, maybe next year.
Well done GF Gran you were awesome, a great holiday...!
We returned on Thursday after 10 nights at the Gran Costa Adeje. This was our 4 th visit to the hotel to celebrate my 80th birthday. The last time some years ago we recall saying the hotel was somewhat tired. The bathrooms had baths / overhead showers and the basins / taps looked well used 🥴
Well the hotel has certainly been made to wake up. The rooms are fantastic everything looks brand new , the bathrooms have walk In showers beautiful twin wash basins and fully tiled. So so comfortable.
The staff everywhere in this hotel are a credit to the GF group from the staff who clean the bedrooms and leave them as the first day you arrived , restaurant, bars , waiters and reception staff all so courteous and helpful.
It must be so difficult to cater in the restaurants for guests from over 430 rooms but I have to agree the food at times is somewhat lukewarm/cold , even the plates at times are cold. Perhaps a few microwaves could be installed in the restaurant to help solve this. I’ve stayed in hotels with microwaves for the guests and your food can be hot in a minute or so. The breakfast are excellent with food to cater for all.
All in all a fabulous hotel with excellent friendly helpful staff. Out 5 th visit won’t be too long. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday so enjoyable.
We recently stayed at this hotel following its reported £40 million refurbishment, and cosmetically it certainly lives up to expectations. The overall look and feel of the hotel is modern, clean, and very well presented. The pool area in particular is excellent — well maintained, spacious, and a great place to relax. We also found the majority of staff to be friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, the all-inclusive food offering was a major disappointment and did not reflect a 5-star standard. The main restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, consistently fell short. Food was often cold, the variety was limited, and the quality — particularly the meat — was poor and frequently tough.
The snack bar was also disappointing, with many of the better options requiring an additional supplement, which defeats the purpose of an all-inclusive experience. Similarly, room service was not included, with all food options coming at an extra cost.
Overall, while the hotel looks fantastic and has some strong positives, the food offering significantly detracts from the experience. With improvements to the dining quality and inclusivity, this hotel could truly match its 5-star ambitions.
WOW -what a team !!! The renovations are stunning ,rooms perfect I could not find one thing would change ,hotel is spotless ,rooftop pool a dream but what makes the place stand out and ahead of others ??? The staff -each and everyone of you are amazing ,friendly ,courteous -this hotel is like a home from home !! A big thank you as always!!
Room was good bed was twin and not a double so surprised by that did not raise it as an issue. Cleaning of room was ok but did not replace some a items such as lotions / nd you had to request to get the sheets changed thought ta this would be done every two to three days
Was quite nice very was quite efficient etc don't think we will go again
Fantastic location, variety of food, cleanliness , room design, Housekeeping twice a day! Good value for money lovely entertainment , enough chairs at the pool area, great clean pools been twice and definitely come back . Tanja Janitzky made our stay really special big thank you for your kindness.
Where do I begin with this hotel, think its best I start from the moment our coach pulled into the hotel driveway. The outside of the hotel looks wonderful me and my partner couldn't believe it was our hotel as didn't expect it to look as stunning as it did, when we entered the hotel we was greeted by a massive water fountain featured in the main lobby of the hotel and the lobby is massive in itself stretches from reception all the way to the other end of the hotel where the bar and entertainment is. There are multiple lifts to get to each section and floor of the hotel, during the day we have seen the hotel being kept clean at all times from the outside to the inside. The staff in each department are friendly and helpful and from what ive seen with other guest that had children then was brilliant with the children as well as the adults I cant fault the staff at all. The food has been really good each day with a selection to cater for everyone, each night has been a different theme for the evening meal which has been nice to try things I never would of tried back home. The cocktail drinks for all inclusive i feel is a small selection they have loads to choose from that is not included in being all inclusive but you pay less for them which is better than paying some of the prices. The swimming and lounge areas are massive with plenty of loungers to pick from depending on how close to the pools you want to be or how close you want to be to the bar the main 2 big pools I found wasnt as warm as I expected them to be but are fine if your looking to cool down from being in the sun to long. There is an adult only rooftop pool, bar and a jungle bar the adult only area is nice if your not wanting to be around children. If you have children on the 1st floor right at the back of the hotel there is a pool that has slides your not able to swim in that pool but will be able to sunbath as the children go down the slide multiple times. The room me and my partner was given was a nice size room it had 2 wardrobes which came in handy with the amount of stuff I took with me for a week, I found it was very clean upon arrival and maintained the cleanliness throught our stay towels was changed daily for us. I would happily pay the price we did to stay at the hotel again but stay longer as I felt a week wasn't long enough. Whislt we was away I celebrated my birthday and someone came upto the room and gave me a invitation to book a la carte and to get 2 free glasses of cava, 2 some soft of chocolate and a bottle of champagne. There is a little shopping centre right next to the hotel that is handy if your not all inclusive or if you want to buy some drinks and pop them in the mini fridge thats in your room, on a Thursday and Saturday there is a market opposite the shopping centre ill warn you now it gets busy so if you cant deal with crowded places then avoid or try and go when it opens as im not sure if it will be quieter first thing or even go an hour before it ends. I definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone if they was to ask me about somewhere to stay in tenerife as its definitely worth the money.
I recently stayed at GF Gran Costa Adeje and had a genuinely great experience.
Travelling solo for the first time can feel a bit daunting but the team made it so easy from the start. I was made to feel comfortable straight away and that continued throughout the whole stay.
The service really stood out. Everyone was approachable, attentive and professional, and it created such a relaxed atmosphere across the hotel. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
A special thank you to the young girl on reception who was incredibly kind and welcoming, and to the team for the room upgrade which I really appreciated. It was a lovely surprise and made the stay even better.
Overall it was a very smooth and enjoyable experience and exactly what I needed at the time. I would happily return in the future.
Great welcome, food excellent although only had breakfast, but something for everyone! Children’s pools warm, all areas very clean! Rooms were excellent
