We spent a few days at our favourite hotel, The Westminster in Le Touquet.
We have been staying there for the last 20 years, ever since we found it. You are always welcomed by friendly staff and our room no. 017 was on the ground floor and really comfortable, clean and well decorated. We love the range of hot and cold food at breakfast, but my only complaint which I have been making for years is cold plates for the hot breakfast. (The food cools too quickly)
There is a lovely bar/lounge just off of the lobby and is really relaxing for coffee or an after-dinner Cognac. We take a stroll into the town and visit the fabulous shops which have a generous discount this time of year.
We are always early to dinner in the wonderful La Table Du West Restaurant with excellent staff and brilliant chefs. When we stayed, our head chef was Mortier Sebastien, he cooks lovely off-menu food for Jan, who is vegetarian. The other head chef when we stay is William Elliot, who is equally brilliant.
Our Maitre D was Darleux Vincent, and our server was Bruniau Alexandre, and they both spoke perfect English and explained the parts of the menu that our rudimentary French did not understand. The food that we had and the wine were amazing.
Really nice hotel, best sleep i've ever had. However, upon check-in €500 was taken as a deposit, not a hold, not an account number but physically taken from my account. I've never had a deposit that size taken out and upon leaving I was told it would be returned to me. its taken days to re-appear in my account. I don't think there is a need for this?
Lovely hotel great staff and atmosphere
Everything excellent, from initial welcome, service from all staff, to the delicious breakfast in beautiful surroundings.
Good quiet hotel with big rooms and excellent restaurant for dinner. Shower didn’t work in one bathroom but we had a bath with another in our room. €17 is a lot for the breakfast I had. Friendly staff and nice grounds.
As always, this hotel is superb.
poor service nothing ready on arrival girl ( Dominique ? ) with glasses rude and abrupt no places left at the in house restaurant because of staff event !
Rooms getting shabby
Only one glass in room for drinks
No charging for car 50 euro for 1 night parking is a joke
Air con does not cool room it’s over 28 in room so no sleep
In the room you use to get local biscuits not anymore just cheap jam who wants jam
Terrace drinks not cleared away and poor service
Towels in bathroom hard poor quality
Woke Up at 8 by the gardeners strimming and lawn mowing outside !
Poor breakfast
Superb stay at very comfortable and friendly hotel. From the moment you arrive to the last moment there, the staff can't do enough for you. Reception, Concierge, Bar staff all excellent. Breakfast was very good and staff there are as above.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the bed was comfortable. The staff was amazing too.
Rooms were small, outdated and dirty. Service was good at reception, however car valet left a sour taste in my mouth. The car was given to them and was not returned to me in the same settings... Not very happy. 37 euro per person for breakfast is also a joke... Only saving grace was the quality of the bed, very comfy.
Fabulous hotel in the centre of Le Touquet. Five star experience!
Absolutely wonderful! Amazing staff and exceptional food and service :-)
We had a Lovely break
hotel is a great place to stay with a good position centre of the town
Staff i found were excellent very friendly & welcoming even with my language barrier nothing was a problem & sorted all my needs .
The only down side i had a room on the top floor which was on the little small side & was quite hot on the warm days . That said it was a very comfortable & fully equipped room . Still would stay again at this hotel as it is the best hotel in the area.
Fantastic stay at a fantastic hotel
This is a disappointing hotel for the price. A "Superior Room" is €340 / night and the room was quite small and pokey with a similarly unimpressive bathroom. My biggest gripe is the Air Conditioning, which is "restricted" to 3 degrees below the ambient temperature for "environmental reasons", which is clearly tosh, it saves them hundreds of thousands of Euros every year. Good luck if you stay here in high summer with temperature at 30 degrees, your AC can only be set to 27 degrees ! The breakfast is €38 for a distinctly average buffet offering. Ending on a positive note, the staff were good.
Cleanliness of room, beautiful bathroom.
I didn’t like that the hotel wanted a £1000 credit on account.
Check your bill thoroughly as I spent hours at reception trying to sort out mine and when I requested to check out a day early they agreed to refund the night but several days later refused the refund and basically lied! I am still in long winded communications and will update the outcome but beware and check every bill carefully and at check in go through the terms of your booking and all fine details.
This is truly a 5-star hotel in a fantastic location. The attention to detail, cleanliness, and ambience are amazing. The hotel staff are attentive and the breakfast was one of the best I have had. The room was spacious with a very large bathroom. We would like to thank the hotel for looking after us so well and mskimg our stay very special. We will certainly revisit the area and stay again at this hotel.
Very good hotel, professional and friendly staff
This was the 8th time of staying at the Hotel Westminster & we will certainly be returning.
The staff are brilliant , efficient , smiling , friendly & helpful.
The food is wonderful . The Michelin starred Le Pavillon is a must for us in fact it is probably the main reason for staying at this hotel. Good , tasty meals can also be had at the Table du West restaurant at the hotel.
It is delightful to wake up & have a quality buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Bacon, mushrooms, beans, scrambled eggs , boiled eggs, chesses , cold meats, smoked salmon, plenty of fruit, breads & patisseries.
Comfortable rooms, spa is small but sufficient .
Overall we always enjoy our stay at this superb hotel & look forward to returning.
