Efficient staff, food okay. Our room/bathroom was clean.

First of first we got 2 rooms link together as we are travel with kid's, First room was OK but second behind the wall was a real nightmare no hot water at all in the bathroom and no heating after reporting to reception they can't do nothing at the moment I said ok it is what it is. But next eavning we was left the room at 5.30 am and be back very tired arround 11pm both rooms was stinky like cigarette ashes someone smoke in the bathroom and thru the ventilation all smell go thru our rooms I reported to reception they confirm smell at the rooms and after they investigation they didn't find person whos smoke in the room I think was behind the wall but any way. S9 we was sleep in one room 4 people in one bed imagine this...... On the last day I was asked for part refund but people at the reception informed me they speak with manager and they can't do any part of refund so this situation is unacceptable for me as I spend £ 460.00 for double room as we didn't use other room and last night was stinky becouse of someone smoke cigarettes nearly all night. Never ever be back to this hotel.

We had an extremely disappointing stay at this hotel and would strongly advise others to avoid it.

When we arrived, we had to wait to check in because there was only one member of staff at reception, who turned out to be the manager. There was no welcome or clear information provided — we even had to ask what time breakfast was served.

The lift door slammed on my arm (right-hand side), which was both painful and concerning from a safety perspective.

When we finally reached our room, it smelled unclean straight away. The toilet had clearly not been cleaned. There were no bars of soap or bottled water, despite these being advertised on Booking.com and shown in the hotel’s photos.

The beds were also unacceptable. The single bed for my son had springs sticking out of it, and the double mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable.

The bar experience was just as poor. The blonde-haired lady behind the bar was rude and unhelpful. The food was undercooked, and breakfast was terrible. We had to repeatedly ask for basic items.

When I raised these issues and requested a refund, Anna (the manager) refused, stating that they had “offered a service.” Booking.com informed us that any refund must come from the hotel and said they were shocked at the manager’s response.

Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. Save your money — you’d genuinely be better off staying at a Premier Inn.

Access to footpaths nearby for countryside walking.
Convenient location, less than 2miles from motorway junction.

Room is nice.
Reception very frosty.

In the bar I asked a waitress for a menu and she told me to get it myself from the bar.
Very odd.

Other than that, good hotel, but CS is lacking.

We stayed here for two nights as we were visiting family
Check in was quick and easy and the lady that checked us in was polite and friendly
The room was ok we found it very dark but it did the job
Had drinks in the bar the first night but found it very expensive
We did go to reception the next morning about a issue but this time found the receptionist very rude and not welcoming at all
Would we stay again most probably not after our problem with the reception staff
