Nice place
Water leaking in the bathroom from the sink and window curtains didn't close
It was a decent hotel, good location, the pool and hot tub were nice. The place was clean.
The beds. My husband has a bad back and it did him no favors.
Comfy beds. Friendly staff.
Limpeza quarto
Breakfast was good. Location was great!
Lighting in the bath room was awful
The breakfast room was clean and the serving person was busy filling all the stations.
The food was okay, not good, just okay. There seemed to be some shortages of the offerings, too. Could have used hard-boiled eggs, peanut butter, and more bagels. Danishes would have been nice.
Staff was super friendly, breakfast was good, pool was clean
Shower curtain was broken.
Great staff!
The pool and hot tub had way to much chlorine. Overpriced snacks.
This location is great for proximity to I-94, beaches, restaurants in the area and a Meijer around the corner. We came for the Lake Michigan beaches and this location worked well. It was our first stay at a Choice property and were pleased.
Upon arriving we were greeted by the wonderful Gloria which set the tone for our stay. We had a reservation and she gave us the option of what floor we’d like which we appreciated. Our 2 Queen suite with sofa was clean with the exception of the closet. It appeared that maybe a child used it as their snack spot. There was a chewy bar wrapper and crumbs that hadn’t been cleaned so the housekeeper just missed checking the closet when they cleaned after the last guest. We mentioned this to Gloria, she noted it and then we grabbed the housekeeper with the vacuum and it was cleaned, no big deal.
I found the bed very comfortable but it was a bit too firm for my husband, I liked the pillows. The sheets and towels had the scent of bleach which I always feel better about. The towels were really nice, there was a shampoo and conditioner dispenser in the shower and a lotion dispenser at the sink. Plenty of counter space and a magnifying mirror at the sink which was a plus.
Breakfast was nothing special, the usual waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt, bagels, etc. One morning the eggs & sausage trays were empty but the attendant was more focused on filling the cabinets and drawers. One group came in and brought this to her attention and she seemed surprised but she’d never checked those trays the whole time we ate. But that was only 1 of our 4 mornings, the other days everything was well stocked.
I’d recommend this location for price point and distance from St. Joe. It’s less congested and not more than a 15-30 minute drive depending on traffic. The sunsets were good all along the lake and we were told that at Weko Beach they play taps at sunset but we never made it down there to check it out. Can highly recommend The Sandbar bar for food, old school knotty pine bar, fun and good food and great prices!
