Pros:

Very stylish, modern but also very welcoming and comfy. Spacious room and extremely comfy bed. All the staff were lovely and the balloon & prosecco were such a lovely touch for my boyfriends birthday

Cons:

We had a slight issue with the temperature of the shower, wouldn’t heat up on the over head shower and took a while to heat up on the handheld attachment. We told staff as we checked out and they went to sort it straight away so we can’t fault it

Needs some TLC in the rooms, to make sure everything works before guests arrive.
Pros:

The location was excellent for where I needed to be.

Cons:

The bathroom lights flickered constantly, the bathroom pedal bin was broken so couldn't be operated with a foot, the tea caddy handle was broken off with the screws rolling around inside and the bedding had some stains on it.

The Alan is a great place to base yourself in the centre of Manchester

Pros:

I had an issue with my room where the AC was not cooling the room. When I told the receptionist about this issue, he came to check on the room and found the AC to be almost warming the room despite the thermostat being put on the coldest setting. He quickly moved me into a room with a functional AC. The staff is super attentive and really care that you have a great stay, so I really appreciated that!

Cons:

The shampoo/conditionere/body wash offered in the rooms is terrible, mostly due to its smell. If you use those products, the bathroom, and you, smell like a freshly pressed smoothie (not nice).

Very pleasant hotel in great location.
Pros:

Good location, clean and adequate for our requirements.

Cons:

One couple in our party had a room facing onto Princess St and got woken up very early by the Great Run organisation. They did have the window open because the aircon was not cooling down the room very well. The other room at the back of the hotel was fine noise wise.

Didn’t start good but recovered well. Location, staff and food really good.
Pros:

Location is great, breakfast very good and the final room was spot on!

Cons:

First room was not good, stained carpet and bed, bathroom in need of TLC. The second room the shower didn’t drain and as shower in the actual room there was water everywhere. That said the staff managed well and we were happy with the third room.
