Location is great
Room is clean, spotless
Very clean and large room compared to small rooms generally in Japan. Clean and next to train station.
Japanese traditional style room is gorgeous. Roomy and comfortable. Quite a walk to subway station and food. Would recommend.
Simple, efficient, great location
Good place. Bathtub shower combo leaves a bit to be desired. But everything else was great
This is an authentic Japanese Tatami style o sleeping and is priced affordably!
We had a comfortable stay in Wayfarer hotel. Staff were very kind and helpful. We didn’t had any communication issues with the staff, hotel was foreigner friendly. Only one night my next door neighbour was loud otherwise overall lovely stay. Would come back again if we visit Japan in future.
Great place to stay for a family of 5 - large room, convenient location, super helpful and friendly staff. Bag forwarding company next door. Perfect stay.
Cool hotel. Super friendly and helpful front desk staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in a large / executive family room (903) with 5 beds and found it perfect. Very modern. Quiet at night. There’s a bus stop out the front and other routes a 5 min walk away. I actually thought the location was great as most attractions are only accessible via bus anyway. We were initially worried based on a couple of reviews, but we have really enjoyed our room and our stay.
The area is good with access to metro and buses. Nice places to have breakfast at a few blocks.
this was the worst place ive ever stayed at in my life there was hair on my bed from the previous peoples also the workers were weird and stared at my fiance and made her uncomfortable. also the price wasnt what was advertised complete trash place go somewhere else
Great location, quick walk to the metro and only a few stops to Kyoto Station. Bus stop right outside. Hotel allowed us to check in a little bit early as the room was ready which was appreciated. Check in using an ipad, staff on reception spoke immaculate english.
Bed was very hard and only one pillow which was flat and not your normal pillow - more of a mesh filling. Needed some silicone round bath as shower water goes straight down side of bath.
Only one bottle of water in room when arrive, after that need to buy your own if need any.
The check in after hours is not easy. Last service person leaves at 11p (23:00). I had to download an app and process my passports. Not a fun process after walking 30k steps. Other than that no complaints. Great location, nice staff, good size rooms, & clean.
One of the most expensive hotels we have ever stayed in with the smallest possible room. Be careful what you book. The photos show large spacious rooms but what we got was one barely large enough for 4 futons. The reception team point out that burried deep amongst the photos is the room we were given. The essential tatami family room. Very disappointed with the experience. A real smoke and mirrors job. Bordering on a con. Booked through Booking.com
This was the last leg of our 8 day trip to Japan and Wayfarer didn’t disappoint. Checking was easy, all the staff was very courteous and helpful. The room we stayed at was modern and had the perfect touches for a pleasant experience. The hotel is conveniently located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, within walking distance from the Nishiki Market (15 min walk). Highly recommend.
Great costumer service.
We got a very spacious room with 5 individual beds. The room is very nicely designed with two sleeping areas, a separate office corner with full privacy, and a little living area. My kids absolutely love it. It's the best hotel room we stayed during our Japan trip.
The rooms are very small. We had a four person room and there was no space for our luggage. The photos are deceiving. The staff is rude and not interested in helping their guests. There are far too many hotels in Kyoto to settle for this one. We won’t be staying here again.
Room is big for 4 people. Comes with 5 beds. Short walk to shopping centre and food locations.
The location of this hotel was amazing, but the hotel itself was somewhat lacking. There seems to be very limited soundproofing between rooms, so you have hear others’ conversations/loud footsteps above you. The tatami beds were also quite uncomfortable.
