Prestige Inn Nelson

The parking lot is quite narrow, so anyone driving a truck or larger SUV may find parking difficult.
Unfortunately, we had several cleanliness and maintenance concerns. Both of our rooms had hair on the bed linens. One room had earplugs on the bedside table while the other did not, so we weren’t sure whether they were supplied by the hotel or left behind by a previous guest. The room without earplugs on the bedside table actually had one on the floor near the door when we arrived. One of our rooms had no bathroom linens other than a floor mat. On the wall beside the sink were two noticeable smears that appeared to be bodily fluids, one reddish and one yellow/green. The shower curtain had a large tear. The water pressure and temperature in the showers were poor in both rooms. We found a glow stick that was still lit beside one of the beds, which, combined with the other issues, left us questioning how thoroughly the rooms had been cleaned between guests.

The sheets are too much bleached.
The smell are very strong.

There was a few dead insects by the window and leftover food in the fridge from previous users

I am allergic to the main cleaning product scent they use. The air in the room was so thick with it that I got super congested, with burning lungs and could not breath, so I spent the entire cold october night with the door cracked open to allow enough air turn over to make the room survivable. The establishment should take into consideration that some people have sensitivities to common cleaning product scents, and if they actually wanted to be accomodating to everyone they should be using scentless hypoallergenic cleaners, and even still avoiding leaving residues of soaps, scents, or cleaners on surfaces and or fabrics.
The bedding was also washed with too much soaps, and would have suffocated me as well had I not brought my own bedding in expectation of this all too common mistake. Over all everything else about the establishment was great, but due to the severity of this issue it cost them most of their points.

No closets

Was clean. But there were a fly and an insect inside the room. Clean and new beddings, towels. Furniture is really old and outdated.

The parking situation was not ideal, as the stalls were small and slanted on a hill, making parking somewhat difficult. The train blows its horn in the early morning, and although earplugs are provided, they do little to block out the noise because the train passes so close to the hotel.
It was also quite confusing to find our room using the elevator. aTbe pool and bathrooms at the sister hotel was not clean.

We were put in a tiny room in a corner that shouldn’t have been a room, no bathtub, very noisy room - between road & railroad. No restaurant nearby.

Don’t stay

Up and down stairs in a hallway, lobby at the far end as well as elevator. Totally not user friendly to get to your room carrying baggage.
A train blowing it's horn right below our window of our room. No mention of that in the advertisement.

Parking is not great and exiting. A small breakfast would be nice, just pastires or something simple to grab.
