We stayed at the Sandwich Lodge & Resort for one night in March. The location is great, with lots of restaurants nearby, as well as area attractions.
The room was spacious, and had a small microwave and refrigerator in addition to TV etc. The indoor pool was a bit chilly for our taste but the hot tub was great. There is also a game room and ping pong table for the kids.
The complimentary breakfast offers bagels and baked goods, dry cereals, and make-your-own waffles. You can also ask at the front desk if you'd like eggs and sausage, which is great since it means the food isn't sitting out and getting wasted when not eaten.
I would definitely stay here again when visiting the area. And you can't beat the price for a late spring getaway (with no crowds).
My family spent one night there recently in a suite, after a family birthday party. Didn't even stay long enough to shower. The place was clean and did not smell of smoke the way hotels of this era used to. Certain features were recently updated (e.g. the public bathroom off the lobby is gorgeous!). Beds were super comfortable. But in the room with two beds, one of them was so close to the dresser you had to squish between them to get to the second bed. And when we went to plug in a lamp next to the pull-out sofa where my daughter was going to sleep, we found the outlet behind the sofa had no cover, it was just exposed. The pool looked fun, but the noise of the people using it came right into our room. (Luckily the family left around 9:30 PM). We appreciated the ping pong table and air hockey. Breakfast was decent enough--always appreciate a waffle maker! No sidewalk on the road so although we went for a short walk in the morning, we felt like we were courting danger.
The beds were super comfortable! The room didn't smell smokey the way some hotels of this age do. Features such as bathroom vanity had been updated fairly recently. We enjoyed the ping pong table! If we had been staying longer we would have taken advantage of the hot tub.
The bed was uncomfortably close to the dresser--you had to squish between the two to reach the bed. There was an exposed outlet behind the couch, where we might have plugged in a lamp or phone charger (room 219). The noise from the pool area came right up into our room. Thankfully the folks that were using it didn't stay much past 9:30 pm.
Spacious room
Spa pool jets didn’t all work properly
Nothing it’s not clean from the snow I have to park the car on the other side and walk to the room
Not clean the front desk staff she was rude and not polite when I told her about the bathroom door that was broken and cannot be locked she said that’s not broken just not locked
Everything was good!!
Snow outside
Breakfast was convenient.
Bed not very soft. Not enough towels and washcloths available for entire stay, had to ask daily and make several trips up and down stairs to ask, turn in used towels, and then receive additional towels.
Very nice breakfast. That's not an option in most other places
Can't think of anything!
We stayed in the King suite with the jacuzzi tub. Room over looks the indoor pool. Room was clean. The people that work there are very friendly. Definitely would recommend.
Our room was very clean, well equip and comfortable. There were no rugs on the floor which made coming in from the snow and ice a bit slippery. It was perfect for a good nights rest, but not so much for hanging out in because there was only one chair, besides the bed. We did not use the common spaces or breakfast. It was perfect for our needs for a place to sleep while visiting family.
Good
Nothing
Terrible experience. Very rude front desk associate. Accidentally left items in the room upon checkout. Came back 4 days later to retrieve and was told they only keep list and found for one week. I explained it had only been 4 days and the front desk clerk shrugged and dismissed me. The only availability for a large family is above the pool which stays open until 10:00. It was very noisy and the room wreaked of pool chemicals. Will not be returning!
Convenient location for our needs!
