The maintenance of the property was poor. Furniture was worn and stained, toilets leaked, sinks were coming off walls. Not the deluxe experience I'd expect given the price.
I am still owed my $100 deposit despite contacting multiple times.
Best location in the city. Our room was great for a group of 3. Had a full kitchen and extra half bath which was perfect.
Rooms are a bit dated but for the location it’s a great value.
We’d stayed before and had a good experience but this time the ac in the room wasn’t working and they rebooked us at a cheaper hotel on the other side of the city which is not where we needed to be for various family events that weekend.
When we booked at a the market pavilion hotel a block away for $200 more per night we weren’t compensated at all. Very disappointed in church street inn.
Location
See images. Dirtly and vile.
Location to explore Charleston was perfect. Rooms were great and the kitchen was useful. Staff was approachable, courteous and helpful in every way.
Should be explained a little more clearly that you will have to pay for parking.
Everything went well ..we returned..for our 40th anniversary..we stayed at Church Street 40 years ago..
Noth8ng
I liked the location
I liked the courtyard
I liked that it was like an apartment
One day no one came in to clean or leave clean towels
We booked this hotel through Priceline in December for April 24th through 28th to celebrate our 40th anniversary on April 25th and paid in full at that time. On April 21st the email was sent by Priceline that our stay is coming up with the last details. After 9 hours drive, we finally arrived at 8 pm. Walking into the empty lobby, we were very rudely asked by the front desk person what we want. We said we are checking in, which he visibly was not happy about. He asked about our last name, briefly looked in his computer and announced that our booking was canceled, the hotel is full and there is nothing he can do. We asked who canceled our stay and he said that we did it back in December. That was a shock especially that the person pretty much refused to discuss it any further other than told us to call Priceline if we have any questions. We went back to the car and called Priceline. The person on the phone put us on hold to call the hotel. When he came back to us,he said that he doesn't know what to say, other than the clerk was lying to him through his teeth. The initial explanation was that Priceline canceled our stay, so he told him that it would be impossible, because they would refund our money right away. Then the clerk tried to state that it was us who canceled, which Priceline rep said it was impossible since we had to do it though them only. Finally he said it was one of their former employee. To make story short, Priceline could only refund our money at that time and add 20% for the inconvenience, but the problem was that the options at this point at 9:30pm was either spend the night in the car or pay $1000 more for a few hotels that were available at that time. We would never expected that something like this is even possible to happen. We wanted everyone to know what kind of service, or better way a lack of service we experienced at this hotel. It wasn't even an attempt for apology or an attempt to fix a horrible situation by front desk clerk.
Location was great easy to access everything!
I love to have breakfast provided when we travel.
Best location!! Wonderful staff!
Stairs to the bedroom tuff on old legs.
Not recommended for people with mobility issues.
Perfect location for walking everywhere. The rooms were two stories with a kitchenette, bathroom and pull out sofa on the bottom floor and bedroom and full bath on 2nd floor. Very nice hotel!
