Great location for transport links and shops
Nothing really- staircarpet a bit worn but that’s all
The room was a good size for a single, with good shower pressure in the ensuite. The location is great, being just a couple of minutes from both the train station and the harbour. The hotel car park is small but if you manage to get in, then it's a big bonus.
The staff were all really friendly and couldn't do enough to help - particularly thanks to all concerned when the battery on my car had died in the storm and people from the workshops adjacent to the hotel car park and one of the managers helped me on my way for a 300 mile journey!!
Breakfast was a buffet on my first night and there's plenty of choice of the usual suspects for a cooked breakfast, but it was cooked to order the next day - all was hot and tasty.
Will definitely be high on the list when I next visit Oban.
Some of the decor and carpets (particularly around the stairs) are a bit dated and damaged and in need of a refresh, but it is an old, traditional building. If you're after state of the art mod cons, then this isn't the hotel for you.
Booked four poster room said luxury room in brochure sadly it was not luxurious at all if you book this room beaware the all night traffic noise we had little sleep due to busy main road. Hotel very dated and scruffy in places. But the food is absolutely beautiful piping hot good choice . The staff are friendly and very helpful. Glad we went as loved Oban but would probably not return to this hotel.
