We have just had a weeks stay at the Atismar Hotel and as other reviews say it’s a little dated But what a fantastic experience it has been , the staff.were lovely , nothing to much trouble . We were on the 10th floor so amazing views across the ocean . Food was good and plenty of it . We are going to miss our morning coffees in the beach cafe , we had a lovely meal on our last night at the Taberna Do Peixe ( would definitely recommend.
To sum it up very sad to be leaving .
What a lovely hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful plenty of choice at meal times and the selection of wine and beer at meal times was excellent we had a lovely sea view room and being so near to the beach was a bonus everything was perfect will definitely be booking next year .
Personeel is super vriendelijk.
I would just like to say this is not 5 star hotel but absolutely brilliant 3 star plus hotel just got back from 11day at this hotel was there 1 September to 12 id just like to say the people who keep putting this hotel down need to get a life there was me and my wife plus 3 other couples at this hotel for my son's wedding everyone that works there are brilliant from walking into the reception in to the bar into the restaurant in the restaurant there was always something there to eat pool doesn't open till 10 o'clock but the pool side very clean just got to say a massive thank you to everyone for making our holiday special thanks from Ossie and Sandra and the rest of the wedding party you will be seeing us again x🥰⛱️🍺
The hotel is perfectly located and convenient access to beach and boardwalk. We did have an issue with ants in the first room we had been given, however staff did their best to address and was able to move us, after one day, to another room.
Fabulous location
Staff were lovely especially Elder in reception
Not a great choice of food, but we aways found something and we loved our room
I loved this hotel its a bit dated but clean staff are so helpful we will be back on the 14th November this year hopefully Ivan the barman will still be there absolutely lovley young Man
Terrible experience, so disappointed, stayed 1 night and left the next morning, and paid £200 to change our flights to leave early. these are my reasons why:
1. Room out dated, walls look grubby and dirty
2. Furniture beaten up, smoke alarm looks broken and taped up
3. Bathroom tiny, can't fit 2 people in it, toilet noisy, bath stained and has a chip, ants on the walls, mould on sealant.
4. VERY strong smell of chemicals in the room, for the 1st time in a very long time I had an asthma attack during the night, which I think was the cause.
5. Two tiny lifts, one was broken, the other wouldn't stop at our floor, after 20 mins waiting I had to struggle with our large suitcases down several floors.
6. Unable to get sun loungers near the pool, only around 35 loungers for the whole hotel.
7. Hotel room noisy, could hear other guests talking in their rooms and the traffic outside.
There was also a fight outside in the evening, where a guy grabbed another guy by his throat.
8. All inclusive, very poor, very few options, there wasn't anything my daughters would eat, so we had to go out for dinner (which was actually very nice, but meant additional costs)
9. The pool bar had rusty barb wire and decaying walls, drinks served in plastic cups
10. My daughters were very tired and grumpy as they said their beds were uncomfortable, and my eldest woke up with a rash on her chest and back.
11. When we complained to reception they apologised but said it wasn't their department, when I asked to speak to the office, they said they wouldn't speak to me, that they would only talk directly to the booking provider.
12. Contacted booking.com, who said that they had phoned and emailed the hotel, but they were not replying.
We stayed 1 night and had 1 soft drink.
Eventually, the hotel agreed to refund us back the three nights that we didn't stay. However, we were charged for the one night we did stay, even though we didn't eat there.
I sent my son on a much needed 1 week holiday to Hotel Atismar
The condition of the hotel and its facilities are disgusting and shocking – namely:
1. Poor Decoration
2. Dated condition
3. Plaster falling of walls
4. Poor condition Sanitaryware (cracked / broken)
5. Windows that are broken / don’t open
6. Damp on walls and ceilings
7. Fixtures and fittings that don’t work
The above were all complained about but nothing was done.
The final issue was my son discovering cockroaches in his room – only for the staff to just spray in the room
I find all of the above completely disgusting and unacceptable.
We stayed for a week here for are friends 60th birthday. Food was brilliant something for everyone staff were brilliant in restaurant bar staff can be very rude especially when there was no ice just could not be bothered to gave a reason just said tell reception
Swimming pool was absolutely freezing even when sun had been on it all day was still freezing
Cleaner did any absolutely amazing job smelt and looked clean
Room are a bit dated could do with a make over and bath needed replacing
Lifts too small for amount of people staying at hotel
It was close to beach and town walking distance
Lovely little shops
And a very nice cake / coffee shop
This hotel is nothing above a 2 star hotel, that offers the option of being All inclusive.
The property is showing its age. My room was very beat up. The room in the picture looks NOTHING like the room that I was given. There were open plaster holes, and I do not just mean one or two. The bathroom toilet seat was loose. When I used the faucet in the sink, that I might add was cracked, the faucet would move when the handle was turned to hot and cold. The porcelain on the bottom of the tub was completely worn off. I was in room 904. My travel agent booked me all inclusive, and I have to say that the food was mediocre at best. There was plenty to eat, and a reasonable selection, although not always hot enough. Location of the hotel is 1/2 block from the beach and a short walk to most of the activities in Quarteira. The hotel was clean enough. Two small elevators that took forever to get.
If you just want a clean place to place your head, this hotel is OK, but certainly has NO extra nice pluses. My stay was all part of a tour so I do not know individual prices charged to me on my tour.
Needs an update desperately. Dining rooms outdated. Too many people in small area. Food not hot. Room very poor standard. Balcony no room for 2 at once. Staff lovely. Nowhere open in may so had to get taxis to villamoura every day. Taxis reasonably priced thankfully. 😅
We arrived home in 23rd May following a 10night holiday here. We had a great experience and had a beautiful view from our balcony. The food was good and the bar staff would make any drink you asked for. The pool area was clean and always plenty of sunbeds. Only 200m from the beach which was amazing.
Stayed in Altismar Hotel last week on all inclusive basis, lovly family type hotel, good food, extremely helpful staff throughout the hotel, laid back atmosphere, very clean. It is very close to the beach and about 40 mins walk along promenade to Vilamoura Marina. Super view from top floors. Pool area quite small and you need to take pool towels with you. Would definately stay again.
Nice property close to the beach. Good Breakfast.
Writing this on behalf of my parents who have just returned from their trip.
Comfortable rooms with beautiful views,
Food was delicious with plenty of choice
Hotel is clean and well maintained,
Staff are so friendly/knowledgable and helpful
Short walk to the beach and shops/bars
Pool area clean and well maintained
From the second they arrived at the hotel they were greeted by friendly staff who catered for their every need. rooms and beds weee comfortable and the views from their balcony looked amazing. They enjoyed all the food and said there was plenty of choice at every meal. It’s only a short walk to the beach (having your picture took by the swing is a must) it was there first time in Portugal and they said they would visit again and would also return to this hotel.
Just arrived home from a gorgeous week away in the Atismar Hotel. The hotel is great, for a more budget hotel you get everything you need and then some. The location is perfect. Steps away from such a beautiful beach. I think beginning of May was a great time to visit. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time chatting to all the staff. All inclusive was a great option for us. We enjoyed sangria by the pool and walks on the beach everyday. Always something available for us to eat that we enjoyed. It’s quaint and quiet this time of year and cheap in a taxi to the old town for a night out if you want one. Really appreciate the staff looking after us and making sure we had some food when we had a really long wait for our transfer as well! Happy place with great vibes! Would definitely recommend.
A lovely hotel with such friendly staff. Hotel so near the beach shops and restaurants, we stayed b&b which was very enjoyable, small pool area a bar and decking section as well. We were on 7th floor with a great sea view, comfy bed, shower over bath. Lifts small max 4 max no issues for us but may be in high season. Very quiet no noise issues. Would happily return. Thank you for an amazing few days, hotel is a happy place.
Atismar… ok, you are absolutely getting what you pay for (but with a great twist)!
Good points: the staff. Politeness and manners cost nothing, and every one of the staff were so nice to us. They are happy to serve, help and even just chat to you about anything. They are happy hotel perhaps is a bit dated, but the bed are comfy, the pool and sun loungers are clean and the area in the bar and reception etc is clean also. The location is spot on, you are 2 mins from the beach and 14euros to the airport, and also Albufeira. The marina (the big one) is amazing too and not far.
Bad points: vodka / gin / rum etc are all local stuff and while you get A LOT in your drink, you don’t quite feel as drunk.. maybe I was just drunk the whole time to notice! The food. I’m not fussy, and I suppose there is always “something” you. An eat, but it’s not top notch.
Thank you to all the staff (David, tatyana and the other chap with the glasses) behind the bar.
