Hotel and staff fantastic, however the hotel is in a very isolated location with no amenities nearby. A car is essential to get around as the local buses are not reliable and they stop running all together on the 30th September
B&B is not really a good option due to the lack of amenities around this hotel, the nearest town is over 1hr walk
The food is very lukewarm and the buffet not of a good variety. The al a carte menu was not to our personal taste, therefore did not eat much on an evening
Very few uk guests at this hotel and no jet 2 rep to resolve any concerns
The hotel is excellently positioned. The beach can be easily reached in two minutes. The sea is phenomenal, clean. The hotel staff is extremely friendly. The rooms have retained their traditional appearance. Hygiene is good. The food is well prepared, tasty and varied. this is a place where you can rest well, without noise, in peace and quiet. All recommendations.
Lovely beach setup
The food was adequate
This review is several months late, but I promised myself I would do it and here at last I have done! When you enjoy somewhere you should most definitely express it!
This is a small, quiet, not in your face hotel. If you are looking for 4 star luxury it isn’t for you. We weren’t, just somewhere unassuming, nice and clean, friendly and close to the sea.
Hotel
The staff are professional and friendly. Those on reception put up with my attempts at the Italian I learnt years ago. The reception and bar area are quiet and small but also cosy. There is a small outside bar area in the shade. There are bookies to help people with their luggage to the rooms on a mobile and departure, especially the rooms up higher on the hill and there is a mini bus which goes from the hotel into Cannegione for a couple of euros. So even if you don’t hire a car as we did, you can still get into town. The town is small with a few restaurants and shops and of course a small
marina area.
Rooms
To be honest could do with updating but they are roomy, and clean. The bathroom is big enough for 2, although lacks a bath which is an essential for me but I forewent it this time. Always plenty of hot water and it was nice and quiet in the vicinity of the rooms. There was a small terrace area with beautiful views over the sea to the distant mainland opposite. The only other downside is that our room was at the top of the hill. Which at the end of a hard day on the beach can be a challenge but the pay off is the view you get. If you have any difficulty walking I would ask for a room at the bottom of the hill or around the pool side. The rooms were kept nice and clean by lovely ladies.
Pool
We went in August and the pool was mainly quiet with just a few people enjoying it most days. We only had a couple of pool days as we prefer the beach. The pools are very clean and there is a nice whirlpool as well as a toddlers pool. We enjoyed our days that we did spend by the pool as they were very relaxing and quiet.
Dining
We only had a bed and breakfast package as that was all that was on offer with our travel agent. However we could pay for lunch and/or dinner and guest from other countries obviously had a half or full board package. The breakfast were fantastic with so much choice . We are one meat eater and one pescatarian and both had so much on offer each day lots of cheeses meats, different types of egg on offer, cereals, bread, fruits, yoghurts and plenty of cooked breakfast. You could replenish your plate or glass as often as you wished And the staff for more than happy to provide you with cappuccinos, etc
Beach
The beach was a fairly short distance away across a dirt path, the hotel has buggies driving around backwards and forwards to the beach so if you find the walk uncomfortable or daunting just wait till a buggy arrives and make use of that. The beach is clean with sunbeds and umbrellas and there is a section for the hotel to use. The water is clear and we explored a bit further on our paddle board round to smaller different beaches not far away.
One thing that we personally found nice was that there was not a lot of British people in the hotel there several different nationalities including lots of Italians. This most definitely adds to the holiday feeling.
There were mainly couples and a few people with small children but not a lot of teenagers and to be honest this hotel might be a bit quiet for some teenagers as there is not a lot to do unless they just love the pool and love the beach.
One tip is if you’re someone that likes to go and visit the beaches and will travel, please ensure you check whether or not it is a beach that needs to be booked during high summer season. Two beaches but definitely do require booking are: One tip is if you’re someone that likes to go and visit the beaches and will travel, please ensure you check whether or not it is a beach that needs to be booked during high summer season. Two beaches but definitely do require booking before you go are Cala Brandinchi and Lu Impostu, probably a day or so before you want to go.
We would most definately go back to this hotel! We hired a car, but there’s still so much more to see in this area.
Stella Marine you were definately a lovely introduction to Sardinia. Thank you.
K & J
We had never been to Sardinia before, but love Italian holidays, so jet 2 had the best choice in October. Pleasant hotel, rooms fine, short walk up hill. Restaurant and food plentiful and authentic. Struggled to get decaffeinated coffee though.. Staff working hard still at the very end of season and all spoke English. Spacious lounge area for the evening with evening singers, thank you.
Beach very quiet across the road 10 mins, but if you like walking, turn right and walk along the beach to get to other areas. You have to find your own way!! Bus finished in the middle of the week to Cannegione ! Only walk to get to Palau the other way is by taxi at 25 euros each.., but boat trips can be taken from there.
So very quiet, away from it all. Hotel could do with having a few bicycles for guests to use, a jacuzzi, and English sub titles access on the television for non European guests really.
i went to this hotel with my wife October this year for 2 weeks, it was probably one of the best trips we have ever had. Hotel was perfect, staff were outstanding, from reception to the bar to the restaurant, all of them excellent every day, helpful and informative at all times. Hotel was excellent, great spot and only within 30 minutes you are in beaches better than the Maldives, I would recommend this place to anyone, could not fault it at all. Weather in October was fantastic also, one day of rain in 14 days, 25 degrees every day.
This is definitely a hotel for people wanting a relaxing break as there is literally nothing in the vicinity other than a fabulous beach a short(ish) walk away Plenty of excercise walking up to the Hobbit style rooms on the hill. Food ok but Restaurant opening hours a bit restrictive and some ( not all) staff could do with being taught how to smile.seems to be quite a popular hotel with our mainland European cousins.
This is a lovely resort with its own very spacious beach and beach cafe. We had a modern room with a view over the sea. The breakfast is very good and offers freshly prepared omelets / fried eggs. But the dinner was truly special, gourmet quality. We booked B&B and had dinner on the terrace every evening: there is a menu for the terrace but you were also able to select dishes from the half board menu (very high quality food, compliments to the chef!).
All staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
It’s beautifully cared for with stunning views. Although a little outside Cannigione, the hotel has several options for those without a car. The beach is a leisurely walk, or golf cart away with a welcome bar! Absolutely every one of the staff were excellent,it felt very much like a family run hotel with no sense of stress. Although we arrived late, Guiseppe was happy to host us with delicious Sardinian wine after our long journey. The breakfasts are fantastic, I highly recommend using their restaurant. Thank you for the surprise Prosecco and fruit in our room, absolutely delicious. Lecie and Barbra also stood out as beyond helpful and happy; but to be honest, everyone was great at making this a must memorable visit, I’m excited to return!
Nothing!
The hotel was very comfy and reception staff were very helpful in suggesting excursions and organising transport to and from the local town. The best part was the restaurant staff’s knowledge about gluten free food. There were about 4 options every evening. Would highly recommend. Very close to the beach with a hotel beach bar too.
Outstanding property, people, and dinner that will not soon be forgotten. Beach was close and chairs/umbrellas available at no extra charge. Bar on the beach. What more do you need for a great holiday.
This is a very pleasant hotel with really well maintained grounds and communal areas. The pool is fairly small but still lovely and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Room came with a TV but only one channel in English and with a smallish fridge and a safe. Nice balcony area with a sea view. A real plus point of this hotel is the private beach and beach side snack bar, shower and toilet. The downside of this hotel is that there really is nowhere within walking distance other than a small supermarket which requires a 15 minute walk on the road. It is also set on a slope so older or less mobile guests may wish they had chosen somewhere less hilly!
When we were there about 98% of the guests were German so the menu was very meat heavy but the food we did have in the evenings was pretty good.
If you want somewhere quite and relaxing this is great but if you want to get out and about either hire a car or go somewhere a bit less isolated.
Standout plus points for us were the fabulous staff and just how clean everywhere is
Breakfast was okay, nothing special.
There could have been more diverse options. Our other hotel stays had better food. Also, the coffee was not good.
