The restaurant and the location
The staff is very poorly trained. To any request we had the answer was an un polite NO! We did a booking of a suite with ocean view, just to discover that the ocean view was only a partial view, with the main view on a mountain. Of course we complained, because partial view on the ocean is a misleading statement. The said that this what they had and offered to change to another smaller room with a worse view. When we ask for a real ocean view room, the answer, imagine was a simple NO.
Many other weird rules are in place. For instance, you need slippers to enter the swimming pool area, which are offered for free to people not staying in the hotel, but not to people staying in the hotel. I suppose someone wrote the rule wrongly, but the staff is completely unwilling to help, and guess what they will answer: NO, they are really un flexible in any aspect and you count as a client to NOT be the king. Another story is that we wanted to go to the restaurant, which was completely empty, because it was weekend, and on weekends the price is like 30% more expensive, and they said that they could not accommodate us, because we did not make a reservation. Believe me the restaurant was completely empty. When I said that I would then do a reservation just in front of them, then they reacted and said it was not necessary. We had dinner and we left and the restaurant was still empty when we left.
The complementary fudge and snacks are simply a joke.
Great location and facilities. Room was spotlessly clean with good amenities. Beds were comfy. Plenty of parking. Infinity pool was superb. Staff were pleasant and very helpful.

The pool is lovely. The pool staff are perfectly fine. The entire shower and pool area is very clean and tidy. Everything related to the pool was excellent. The view from the hotel is breathtaking. The room is large.
The staff gave us the wrong information regarding the location of the yoga classes, so I had to run around twice at 7:00 AM trying to find where the yoga was taking place. The balcony in the room is neglected and the paint is peeling. What is provided is very minimal, considering the high price of the room. Some of the staff were not welcoming.
The prize for drinks and food at pool restaurant was way to high.
The staff was wonderful. The grounds were pristine, and the West Building was very modern.
The East building's rooms and balcony can be used overall. The balcony is not inviting at all.
The staff were friendly and genuinely tried to accommodate us and make up for the disappointing experience. They even offered us a larger room as an upgrade. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the room was no better in terms of condition, with worn-out furniture, rusty mirror frames, and squeaking fixtures. We appreciated their willingness to help, but unfortunately, it could not compensate for the hotel’s overall poor condition.
This hotel certainly does not live up to its five-star rating. During our trip through Japan and Korea, we stayed at five different hotels, and ironically, this was the only five-star property. We chose it partly because it was featured on a TV show, which raised our expectations. However, immediately upon arrival, we had to request a room change because our original room was extremely worn out and in a disastrous condition. All the four-star hotels we stayed at offered better room conditions and bathroom amenities. Overall, a very disappointing experience that fell far short of five-star expectations.
