We stayed here due to this hotel winning Trip Advisors 2025 award. We’re not quite sure why it won. The stay was okay, but not great. The staff were pleasant, the room quiet. Although they were strict about nonsmoking and such, the hotel is older and I could tell it must of allowed smoking at one point in the past. I do have a very sensitive nose, so if you’re not sensitive, you probably wouldn’t notice anything.
It was mostly clean, and the bed was good. However the pillows, as another reviewer mentioned, were very lumpy. Like crazily so. I’m used to the typical hotel pillows, but these were not that.
Parking was free, but no free breakfast.
Didn’t eat breakfast
I was sleep & missed breakfast
Lovely and clean and comfortable. Rooms were nice. Pool and gym good.
Breakfast could have been better.
Nice clean facility with well laid out rooms. We were in town for a reunion- the hotel served up a delicious plated dinner which was delicious. Great bar and restaurant. Very worthwhile trying
We agonized over staying here or downtown as we were coming to tour Charleston. We were so glad we picked this hotel. We had a fitness room we could work out in every day and a pristine laundry room we could use get our clothes cleaned. (We were on a road trip .) We did not have to pay for parking at the hotel and drove easily to the various plantations. When we drove down to the Central market, there was inexpensive parking in the public lots. The hotel itself was very clean, inviting and well maintained. Although it was too cold to swim, the pool area looked enticing. Breakfast in the in-house restaurant was delicious with accommodating wait staff. We were so glad we stayed here.
Location, cleanliness
T&C was our HQ for a Citadel class reunion. Many stayed there, and we had hospitality room the whole weekend. This was our second time here. Everyone at the hotel was wonderful; cheerful, prompt service, excellent restaurant; Sunday morning Hale and Farewell with continental buffet 5 star all around. Everyone was complimentary of this location for event. And we'll be back next time!
Very clean , beds so soft , very upscale facilities and friendly caring staff
We decided to stay an extra day and was told by staff at desk that manager would ok for us to stay at the weekly rate since we were there all week but when we checked out on Saturday AM they charged us double the weekly rate and did not offer to call the manager to verify what the other staff member had told us! This person was not caring at all and barely even made eye contact with us.. so probably will stay there again!
Location , clean
Restaurant was closed but does not indicate this on the in-house menu when we went to order diner. Cobwebs on the ceiling and hairs present in bathtub upon arrival. We were out all day came back at 4:30 pm then housekeeping arrived which was inconvenient so we said it was not needed. Laundry facilities required change but the change machine was out of service. We asked front desk for change from 2 dollar bills and was advised we could go to the grocery store next door. Since the restaurant was closed we ordered on Uber Eats who forgot to give us utensils. I asked front desk if they could get me some utensils from the restaurant she no because it was closed and locked so off I went to the grocery store a second time that evening. Went to dry my hair and the hairdryer did not work. Place is worn with stains on walls and furniture with no pictures on the wall. Went to lobby restaurant in morning for coffee and was charged $9 US for 2 coffees.
Overall a good experience.
Clean, friendly, professional, and quiet. Always a pleasant experience.
Poolside was nice
Room was spacious. Had some cosmetic issues
Usually hotels disappoint — this one surprises! We will always stay here when visiting Charleston. Thank you for having pride in this privately owned property.
Ok
Good
We appreciated the walk-in shower, coffe cups, a bar of soap, and good quality linens.
Clean, comfortable room. Safe and quiet with easy parking
Great. They let us check in early. They had a great restaurant.
