Pros:

Upscale hotel, helpful staff, free shuttle to Kyoto station

Cons:

The hotel is not close to the station
While the hotel shuttle runs every 30 mins most of the day, the public buses nearby were not so good and often crowded
Nearby not many restaurants choices so we had to go to station area for reasonable food options
That's my only issue otherwise it's great hotel

Pros:

Very beautiful hotel! The rooms were clean and good ventilated. The staff were very helpful and professional. They had a shuttle bus between the hotel and Kyoto station.

Cons:

Is a bit to far from the public transportation. The hotel though provides a handy shuttle bus from Osaka train station but when you arrive to the main station with the shinkansen it is difficult to find where is waiting

Nice hotel but they charged my card an additional fee without any explanation.
Pros:

My stay was fine. I was a little annoyed when the double room photos advertised were different from the room I was given, seems like they have older and less spacious double rooms but advertise the photos of the better ones even if they plan to give you an older room. But I could live with that, the room was clean and had what I needed. The staff were generally very nice. Restaurants were good.

Cons:

Why I feel very let down is when I checked in they charged my card £37 (GBP). They didn't say I was being charged for anything, didn't offer a reciept. It wasn't the city tax as I paid this when I checked out, the room itself was alrady paid for in full. I didn't ask for any other services.

I noticed the £37 charge when I get home, sent multiple messsages, emails and evidence of the payment - Politely asking what it was for, I've been told they're investigating for the past two weeks, politely asked for updates multiple times and now I'm being ignored.

I have no idea why they charged my card when I checked in and they don't seem to want to explain. This unfortunately seems dodgy. It's a real shame because my experience in Japan was otherwise great.
