Courtyard by Marriott Hilton Head Island

This is an update to my 5 star review from last year. Though the hotel is clean and kept up there are differences in service. Specifically they now charge $10 for parking, which we did not have to pay last time. Also they used to run a little breakfast bar in the lobby where you could pay to order some kind of breakfast sandwich or cereal. No more. The only thing on order is Starbucks coffee and a selection of about 4 pastries: a croissant, muffins, a piece of pound cake.

Almost no staff, one person checking in. No one at desk several times. No one answers phone when calling from room. No coffee in room, no water. No housekeeping. Pool was cloudy and full of kids at 7:30 pm. Girl at outside bar was not friendly, didn't say a word. Weird. Paid for breakfast ahead of time, didn't use and was told we would be refunded after check out, nope, didn't happen. I would NEVER stay here again! Beware.

Conveniently located with a short walk to the beach and many restaurants and shops.

Location and very quite. Can walk to everything if you don't mind the price.

Had a lovely weekend stay here in May 2026 for my niece's graduation weekend from the Hilton Head Prep School which is close by. Property was super quiet and very clean throughout. Slept so well on the fourth floor in the comfortable bedding. Room included a nice little refrigerator, coffee, and tea. Parking at the hotel was plentiful and safe. They charged $10/day for it. Used their wonderful fitness center open 24/7 and fun rootop bar + pool.

Enjoyed the fantastic location near Coligny Plaza Shopping and just a block or two from the glorious beach. Everything you might need is conveniently nearby including grocery store, fantastic dining, live community theatre, and unique Hilton Head shopping.

Most of all I want to shout out their management for wonderful customer service. I realized that I had left behind a very special sport coat in the closet of my hotel room a few hours after checking out. Housekeeping had found it and packaged it up for me. It was sent back to me quickly via a UPS shipping label that I emailed them the next day. I appreciate them following up on this so efficiently. Their kindness and helpfulness meant a lot to me. Recommend this property highly.

Love the convenience of being close to everything.

Never stayed at a hotel that didn’t offer free coffee in the lobby. They charge you for it as well to park (10 dollars a day) One of the elevators was broken while we were here. The roof top bar that is advertised is not open. Neither phone in my room works. Not impressed with my “suite”. I guess the proximity to cologne beach is the only saving grace.

Did not utilize as I was expecting a complimentary breakfast. We used the restaurant outside the front of the property.

The manager , Carolyn and the front desk. Clerk who was bilingual were very helpful. They showed us how to connect to WiFi and greeted us each time we entered the property. This is our 2nd trip driving from Michigan to enjoy this hotel.
