Good environment, easy to access, worth the money
Nothing that i disliked
Rooms nice
The restaurant closes too early for a big hotel
Terrible spa and mostly unclean, always constantly something out of order and the cleanliness is poor considering most of the things are out of order in the spa. Showers etc should be kept clean. Not recommended book elsewhere especially if looking for a spa/gym.
Evening staff was rude
Very disappointing, been a gym member here for a few years now, spa facilities and steam room always seem to be broken, nothing ever seems to be working correctly at the same time yet we all had an increase in price of membership. Also I had 4 day passes that were given to me (paper ones) that were close to expiration and I was ensured not to worry as they would still be honoured, however, when I brought a few friends with me to use the facilities they were taken off me by a member of staff and told that they were expired, even though I tried to explain I was told they would be honoured. Place has gone downhill and I’m seriously thinking of leaving and finding a better suited place.
having stayed at most village hotels in the UK i can honestly say the Walsall staff are the best, offering a 5 star experience, on a recent trip there was an issue with the water pressure in my room and kaye and georgia quickly and efficiently switched me to a new room even offering to personally help move my things.
the newly refurbished rooms are fantastic, the facilities especially the gym are brilliant, but once again it’s the outstanding staff who make this place.
the area around the hotel is awful, dirty and nothing felt safe when walking about. The hotel was okay but the noisy eating area was not great. We would never return to that area.
Have stayed at Village Hotel Cheadle and Walsall and would definitely recommend Village Hotels. Friendly, helpful staff, food, rooms and facilities are very good.
We booked this hotel for a 1 night stay while visiting friends. We must say check in was simple and easy, on getting the room key we went up to the room that had apparently just been refurbished.
On entering the room it had an offensive smell just like stale cigarette smoke which was worse in the bathroom. It smelt like someone had been there for a smoke as this was the only place that did not have a smoke detector.
We went to the bar for a drink and on the way down mentioned this to the staff who said that due to wedding guests staying the hotel was full.
The bed was rock hard; like sleeping on a concrete slab, and the room was still smelling quite badly – we had to sleep with the bathroom door shut to try and keep the smell in the bathroom
The bed was rock hard; like sleeping on a concrete slab, the room was still smelling quite badly and the next morning we had to ask for fresh towels as the ones we had stunk of stale cigarette smoke.
Breakfast the next morning was a complete free for all, in fact it was carnage to say the least. The room where the buffet, toaster and coffee machine was, was far too small for the amount of people having breakfast. The mushrooms were part cooked, the scrambled egg was full of water and it was the first time I had had raw tomatoes with my breakfast.
Before leaving the room at check-out to visit our friends, we had to spray our clothes as even these had begun to smell like the hotel room. We had no apology from the staff at all. All the response was “we will get housekeeping to have a look at it”. This was our first visit and will definitely be our last.
It was clean and well organised with space and digital check in
No air conditioning in the rooms- poor natural light and only one window with a roll up blind which you had to keep closed to dress…
Lighting in the room was terrible and felt like we were getting dressed in the dark and became very frustrating and couldn’t wait to get out.
It's local so.....
Bangin upstairs last 3 times I've stayed there
Kieran on the front desk is always amazing! Courteous and welcoming and remembers us from previous stays
Rooms are spacious and the new touches of water and a sweet treat were very much appreciated
Window frames on the outside are tired, otherwise really good
Easy check in.
Clean.
Polite staff.
Plenty of parking.
Beautiful swimming pool.
We were told on the phone that the pool was open until 6.30 but upon arrival, at 5.45, we were told it closed at 5.30! Two disappointed children.
Thankfully we managed to squeeze in a swim the next morning.
Ok
No food at night
