Based on reviews and photos, I had high hopes for this hotel, but it didn't quite live up to them. Maybe this was because we stayed at some other amazing hotels on our trip which were hard to match. I liked the garden setting and the price was good. I enjoyed my massage at the spa.
My family love to swim and hang out by the pool, and it was a shame that the pool bar wasn't really open, and rather the guy working at the pool watched his phone the whole time and called up to the restaurant for drinks. There was no vibe, and it felt a bit flat. Sometimes there were burnoffs at the river and the smoke was very unpleasant. Our room was absolutely enormous, and could easily have fit 2 double beds. Yet we were given 2 separate rooms for a family of 4. The restaurant was mediocre - our food was luke warm by the time it arrived.

My room was a little tired. Clearly an original room. And it showed. Nonetheless it was clean and comfortable

The pool is nice.
1. To many staircase and its slippery. Not friendly for elderly or those with weak knees.
2. The shower holder is bad. It hold the shower head up and spraying to the glass wall not the person.
3. The water pressure to weak and makes showering almost not permissible. Need long time to wash out the soap & shampoo.
This was an incredible find. Just on outskirts of Ubud, this is such a wonderful location. I think it has it's glory days and now there is a lot of competition. But very beautiful layout and lovely views of their own indoor valley. So happy I found it and could.stsy there.
The staff is not really friendly. They are polite, yes, but don't try to think with you and help. It could be that they got tired of tourists from specific 2 countries who try to abuse their kindness, or they were not local Balinese.
We really enjoyed our stay for one night in our transit to another place in Bali. The massages were excellent!
Everything! The traditional Balinese style buildings, sculptures and greenery it really felt like you were in the jungle! I loved the outdoor shower experience, room was a great size and all the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating! Highly recommend, will definitely stay again next time we are in Bali!
Its also close to the main town but hidden away just enough that you feel secluded!
I also loved that they provided filtered water all throughout the property, was very handy to refill our water bottles as often as we needed!
Bali Spirit feels like a home in paradise. This is my second time at Bali Spirit and will return as it’s comfortable, close to Ubud Yoga Centre and many cafes and restaurants within walking distance. We loved the bar pool and massages. Our room had an outdoor toilet and shower which we will request again. The staff are all friendly at Tanto (restaurant) and cleaning. For breakfast we recommend Balinese dishes, fresh juice and selection of traditional dessert/treats. We love it here and will return!
I cannot say, perhaps that we couldn’t stay longer at Bali Spirit and reluctantly returning home.
We appreciate Bali Spirit is amongst the jungle so guests need to understand the difference between cute insects and not so cute insects but we had no issues during our stay especially with bug spray as a prevention.
