All the staff was very helpful!
Very unique and all the staff are great.
You can tell they love working here.
Can’t wait to come back and stay in the other themed rooms. It stayed on the jungle room. Just what I needed . The bed is very comfortable. Can’t say enough about the jacuzzi tub. It is the cherry on top. ☺️☺️☺️
Very cozy feeling.
Very unusual place. Built in 2004, seems it may have had some updates. Each room has a theme; Colorado(like a cabin) Renaissance, Hemingway. When I asked about the history, because the place looks like it is 100 years old, I was told it was built by the current owner because he couldn’t find a romantic hotel. He was describe as a sort of Mr. Magoo. Rooms are strange. Sort of smaller, with12’ ceilings. Light switches not where .you'd expect them. Odd building layout. Nice staff, but I think we were the only couple there
My Husband and I highlybrecomend this fun, unique, and romatic place for any reason and with anyone whether its for fun adventures or for a romantic get away. We first discovered this place for our honeymooon in 2023, we went back for our first year anniversary (2024 the paper year), and we had just finished our stay with them for the third time but for our 2nd year anniversary (2025 the cotten year)The staff and service is always friendly and efficient. The spa and towel animals are a nice addition to the experience everytime. Its also in the right location for easy access to Legends or downtown KC on either the Kansas or Missouri side.
Was a wonderful experience
Staff was welcoming. Beautiful and quiet place. I had to clean the bathtub before using . No microwave in the rooms but got my food heated by staff .
All around wonderful time, it was everything that you see on the website. I've been here many times and every time im very pleased with my stay
Noce location, friendly people and lovely environment.
We had an amazing first night stay. Unfortunately we had to leave early because of a family emergency. The staff was very friendly and understanding of our situation. They went above and beyond with great service. We will definitely make plans for another weekend stay
Stayed in a jessie james themed room, it was fun and unique. The bathroom was boring and out dated but the shower head was nice. There was hair stuck to the shower wall unsure of the cleanness of the rest of the room. The blankets and sheets were rough and stiff and the bed was hard. Did use the jacuzzi tub so far no infections seen so it must have been clean.
This hotel is exceptional! Each room is different and the location is amazing! It’s almost walking distance to the Legends Outlet Mall, KC Sporting, and lots of restaurants.
My husband and I had never had a vacation together over 24 years..and with a serious surgery looming the next day, I wanted to find something neat..fun..luxury like..to do. I read the reviews on several sites about this hotel, and I was nervous about booking, honestly. But, I forged ahead. My husband always did the reservations, hotel bookings, paying for the room, all that stuff. This time I did it! It was an easy, straight forward process. The hotel was great about keeping me informed, reaching out to me for other items I would like to add on, everything. I didn't have any stress with booking the room or checking in.
We were impressed upon coming to the grounds of Chateau Avalon! My gosh..the first thing we saw was this beautiful, windowed building set up for outdoor weddings. It is beautiful! The fountain is huge! There is so much detail in the figures that spray the water! We looked up at the front of the Chateau and it is just lovely! The architecture, the greenery..everything is just pretty and clean! Don't worry if you are handicapped or need assistance with stairs, there is a side door with a close elevator - that is what I used for my husband and luggage. I hate elevators..they scare me! This was a clean, smooth riding elevator.
The hotel was spotlessly clean! There are several pictures mounted around other rooms and there was not a speck of dust anywhere. During the check-in, I asked if there was a luggage cart available. The young lady at the front desk stated she would have one at the elevator entrance after checking in - and by gosh, she did! The front desk was absolutely amazing and helpful! The fountain hadn't been running when we pulled up and I asked if it would be. Again, the amazing front desk lady told me to give her a few. True to her word, the fountain filled up and was soon showing the gorgeous heights it could reach! Be sure to go see the fountain at night..the lights on it are so pretty!!
We stayed in room 213..the Colorado Frontier. Pictures don't do justice to being in the room! When you open the door, you see a full wall mural of a Colorado skyline complete with mountains, a lake, and forestry. Against the mural, is a table for two crafted of smooth logs.
Stepping into the room, a beautiful oversized jacuzzi is to your left. The jacuzzi corner is stocked with fluffy towels and salon type shampoo and conditioner. There is a rock surround on the bottom outside of the jacuzzi that goes with the Colorado motif. That huge jacuzzi will double as a shower with the best water pressure ever! The shower curtains are tied up prettily in all four corners. My husband is an organ recipient and has a compromised immune system. I am very funny about cleanliness and germs. I hopped into the jacuzzi and was on all four..looking at the water output jets. There was no mold, no dust, no dirt, no hair..it was CLEAN!
There is a boardwalk that spans the width of the room! From the jacuzzi, you look to your left and there are some cute gold mining decor pieces mounted on the wall and a large sized luggage holder. There is also plenty of open space for storing luggage and such.
Looking to your right, at the other end of the boardwalk, is a door. Open that door and you have a fairly large space that contains the toilet and sink. The bathroom was immaculately clean. There were more fine toiletries, plastic cups, make up remover pads, a mounted hair dryer, tissues. The counter space was really good..it held all my make up stuff, hair stuff, toothbrushes, ect.. I am very happy with the space!
Now, in the middle of the boardwalk, is a door with a carved in window. Open that door and it is breathtaking! Here is the bedroom! The first thing you see is the queen-sized bed made with logs! We are larger people (husband is 6'8"..!) and found the bed very, very comfortable! I want the mattress! It was soft, moldable, so comfy!
Room 213 had an entire back wall of wrap around windows! SO pretty!! The left and back windows looked over trees and greenery. The windows to the right, looked over the back patio portion with gorgeous Edison lights/colored lights at night, umbrella topped tables and chairs..just a lovely area! We laid in bed and listened to music from the bar..looking at the lights..and loved it. It was all quiet before 10 PM.
There is a cute little electric stove in the room! You can also sign rocks from a basket next to it! The robes are nice..very snuggly! The AC was cold..the refrigerator was cold..and there is a large standup fan that you can move wherever you want and use as you want!
There is a quirk..there is not a microwave in the room! There is one in the lobby to use, but not in the room. There are several food options available..and the option for a good sized, decent-priced breakfast in bed.
We are not fancy people. We don't have a lot of money..this was a splurge..and it was well worth it! We are saving to make another trip up to the Chateau!
Now, the kicker. When I made reservations, I added that I was looking for neat ideas..as this was a night before surgery and the first time we would be alone for a reason other than medical in 24 years. The hotel sent me a list of add ons..which while beautiful, were not in the budget. When we opened the door to the room..I about threw up, knowing we were in the wrong room! Here were rose petals on the bed and a bath bomb! As I turned to tell my husband not to sit down and don’t touch nothing..this wasn’t our room..my husband was crying as he handed me a letter. The letter was a very touching letter from Chateua Avalon and explained that they had comped the upgrades! They also congratulated my husband on his 4th anniversary of his organ transplant (God bless our donor) and wished him well on his surgery at KU the next day. We cried..a lot. We cried again when we checked out. The front desk, the management, the hotel..everything was so above and beyond wonderful!
We stayed August 28, 2025.
Beautiful place!
Chateau Avalon has a unique and inviting atmosphere, with ongoing improvements that enhance the overall charm of the property. The new leadership team, including Isaac, brings fresh energy and vision that leave a great impression. I look forward to returning and seeing how the hotel continues to evolve.
I would also recommend Chateau Avalon as a great location to host events, given its distinctive setting and welcoming ambiance.
The themed rooms was decorated nice. Our room didn’t have a microwave. There was hardly any water pressure in the shower. It was difficult to get in and out of the shower. On the outside, the front entrance was closed due to construction. The signage to find the temporary lobby was not descriptive. We arrived close to midnight and had to wonder around
In he dark to find the entrance. Our breakfast was good and hot. But the didn’t follow the order and prepared a dish with cheese when we didn’t make it to be made with cheese.
The themed room was awesome, very clean a nice change of pace from a regular hotel room . They have room service and different options that you can choose from to add to your room. Will be be back !
I was here for one of hardest times of my life my brother is dying and I was visiting him in hospice. They messed up our booking twice and kicked us out of our room while we were showering and then refused to offer anything to fix it not even a discounted rate on the night we still had originally booked for. The front desk manager didn’t even apologize she tried to blame us because she misunderstood the booking the first time they messed it up. I loved the hotel but have never been treated this way when a hotel messed up a reservation. They lacked any empathy for their mistake. I’m so disappointed that this was one more thing I had to deal with during an already stressful trip. Let’s not forget to mention their bar was closed during the entire trip. We tried going to the bar twice during advertised hours and it was closed. It’s insane to me this hotel would have a manager that didn’t find it necessary to fix such a gross oversight on their end. Oh and cherry on top while we were trying to pack after being told mid shower there was another booking for that room they threatened to call the police if we weren’t packed and out of the room in ten minutes.
Amazing place and an amazing location😍
The shuttle and room service was very convinient I would definitely recommend
Nice room
The staff is amazing. They showed us a few other rooms as well. They are getting ready to start a full renovation. We got to see the bridal suite and it was truly amazing. We loved our room, we will be going back again next year for our birthdays.
