Upon arrival the toilet to our room wouldn’t flush, the water in the bathroom faucet came out brown and black stuff came out. Got switched rooms and then our AC was broke in the room the room got to 82 degrees and didn’t get it fixed until 11 pm the same day of arrival. The next day the ac broke again
Old property with a high dollar price just to feel uncomfortable a majority of our stay
This is one of our go-to hotels when in NOLA. The interior is really cool, with exposed brick throughout. We've always stayed in a suite and it is very large...big sitting room, nice sized bedroom and large bath. The bar is nice also and the staff is very friendly. the location is grateful. Quick walk to Canal, Bourbon and the Warehouse District.
Hospitable staff!! Beautiful decor!
The staff/ service was great. The hotel is so cool with lots of areas to hang out.
The breakfast omelet was ok. A little over cook for my liking. The latte was awesome.
Loved the room and the property. Oriole at the front desk was extremely accommodating and gave me the best welcome to the city. Looking forward to visiting again on my next trip to Nola.
The hotel itself is gorgeous. It is a beautifully restored historic building with chic, eccentric interiors that perfectly capture the New Orleans spirit. Our room was spacious, impressively clean, and had a high-end feel. The location is also ideal because it is close enough to the French Quarter for easy access to the action, but just far enough away to offer a quieter and more sophisticated atmosphere. We also appreciated the staff’s attempt to make things right by upgrading our room after a rocky arrival.
Unfortunately, the communication during our stay was lacking, especially given we visited during the busy Mardi Gras season. We were not warned about major road closures before arrival, which made getting to the hotel very difficult. We also had significant issues with breakfast. We were not told that reservations were mandatory during the festival, leading to long wait times, and we were incorrectly charged for breakfasts that were already prepaid. While we eventually claimed a partial refund, it took several days of follow-up. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected much smoother coordination and billing.
Had the best experience at the eliza jane. Orroine at the front desk is absolutely AMAZING. She goes above and beyond to ensure that you have a great experience. This was our first time at this hotel but I promise it will not be the last. I can not say enough good things about this hotel and the staff!
This is far from what I expect from a Marriott. There were many problems during our visit. The biggest was the total lack of water one morning, and the bare trickle of water another morning. No water! Hotel staff was defensive and unsympathetic about it, and refused to make even the slightest adjustment in price to express concern and compensate for the lack of water and shower in the morning. Even on regular days the water flow in the shower was pathetically weak. Speaking of the shower, the inside shower door was heavy, hard to move, and lacking a handle. The bathroom was not supplied with any type of glass or cup, ever. The room was big enough but did not have a normal chair! Instead it had two barstools, a tippy bar table, and a small backless bench, all very uncomfortable for work or reading. At night the room was impossible to read or work in because, as always, room lighting was extremely poor. The hotel lounge, which is a public space, was closed for an event one evening and morning. We did appreciate the kind attentiveness of the doormen. Even so, we will be staying elsewhere next time we come to New Orleans. We have been to this hotel many times, but never again. No water!
While the Eliza Jane looked good on paper, our experience here fell well short of expectations. Cramped rooms, weak HVAC, slow service, leaking sinks, cold showers, thin walls, dated interior, and the adjoining restaurant was terrible. Not worth the high pricing charged by this hotel; we would recommend others to consider other options before selecting Eliza Jane for their stay.
Amazing and fun diner at Couvant... Jess was the best!!! Food was top notch. Was in town for a week and some of the most fun we had.
Great food, great service, great drinks. Jess was amazing and made it a great experience.
Great location. Very nice lobby with good service and cocktails. Very spacious rooms.
In room 439 The mattress and bed were saggy, the water from the shower came out with little to no pressure and the water from the sink wouldn’t flow out properly. In room 428 the AC wouldn’t work, the room was very cold and the temperature would never go up.
First, I will start with the positives - the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the French Quarter, the bartenders in the lobby were all great, the rooms were clean and…that is about it.
We traveled as a group of 3 adults and had booked a room with 2 queen beds over 2 months in advance of our trip. Fast forward to the day of our stay and we were informed at check-in that they only had a room with 1 king bed. Not to worry though, we were brought a rollaway that barely fit in the room. And the icing on the cake, no pillows, because evidently the entire hotel had somehow ran out. We called Hyatt customer service hoping to rebook at another location and were instead connected with the manager at the front desk, who rather than trying to help, proceeded to tell us several times she could cancel our stay altogether for which we would then have to pay the $100 cancellation fee as well.
Overall, I was left pretty disappointed by the service. Some of the staff were friendly, but unfortunately overshadowed by the less than pleasant interactions.
I would definitely not recommend staying here. First of all, the hotel seems really under-staffed (from the check in process, to housekeeping, to the on-site restaurant). Also, if you happen to be unlucky and get a room that backs up to the alley, you will be up at 5:30 AM every morning, including Saturday and Sunday.
What a GEM! The hotel vibe is cool. Location is convenient we could walk everywhere or walk to the trolley stop. Staff is exceptional!
