The hotel was outstanding. Beautiful room. Best breakfast buffet I have ever had at a hotel. Absolutely delicious. Our friends who were traveling with us concurred and we are all seasoned travelers.

Jeg har bodd på Hotel Bristol mange ganger før, og har vanligvis hatt gode opplevelser. Derfor ble jeg ekstra skuffet over møtet med resepsjonen denne gangen.
Jeg hadde dessverre glemt ID-en min, og jeg forstår selvfølgelig at de må spørre om legitimasjon. Det jeg reagerte på, var ikke regelen, men måten situasjonen ble håndtert på. Jeg ble stresset da jeg ikke fant ID-en, og da jeg spurte om jeg kunne hente den på jobb og komme tilbake, fikk jeg ingen tydelig eller hyggelig beskjed. Resepsjonisten opplevdes rigid og lite imøtekommende, og jeg endte med å bare dra.
Først etter at jeg sendte en melding, fikk jeg beskjed om at jeg kunne komme tilbake med ID. Da hadde jeg allerede fått en så dårlig følelse av situasjonen at jeg valgte å droppe oppholdet.
Dette kunne vært løst så enkelt med litt tydelighet og vennlighet: «Det går helt fint, hent ID-en og kom tilbake, så ordner vi det.» Jeg forventer ikke at rutinene skal settes til side, men god kundeservice handler også om hvordan man kommuniserer når en gjest havner i en stressende situasjon.
Etter denne opplevelsen er jeg dessverre usikker på om jeg vil booke hos Hotel Bristol igjen. Tror nokk ikke det. Jeg verdsetter god kundeservice. Super viktig.

I have waited a week for a response to my complaint (to which I have had none) before posting this review in the hope that it might have been remedied. Let this be a cautionary tail to you before you book!
The hotel hosted a wedding during our stay. The music was so loud that our possessions and some of the furniture in the room were vibrating with the base. I went down to reception at 23:30 to complain and was told alongside multiple other unhappy guests that it would continue until 01:30. This was also not true.
I asked for a refund of the night we were unable to sleep and was told to email the manager. I've not had a response other than a message through booking.com to thank me for my understanding. Well, there was no understanding - before, during or afterwards. All I know is that we did not sleep and that I would like a refund for the night where the disturbance was significant and according to Norwegian's equivalent of trading standards / consumer laws, we were sold a room to be able to sleep in which due to a known event, we were unable to sleep in and were not offered an alternative. If you want a restful stay, do NOT stay here.
