Room was clean..
We arrived at the Ibis at 2pm for check‑in, only to find that our room wouldn’t be ready for several hours. This caused significant inconvenience, Had we received an email or phone call informing us of the delay, we could have planned accordingly, but we received no notification whatsoever. This falls short of the service we expected, and we’d like to request appropriate compensation or a gesture of goodwill for the delay.
Location
Cold shower
Location
Nothing
Good selection for breakfast
No glasses in the room for drinking water. The kettle was too small & hard to use, not clean.
Hot water in the shower was not working, maintenance wasn’t able to fix it. Had to move to a different room which made everything late for our evening. In the end temperature of the water in the shower was not hot enough.
Breakfast buffet was meant to be open until 10am. Then we were told that the buffet was going to be closed at 8.30am. Not good enough, even told that we were allowed to go to Novotel. It was a very raining day & we were waiting for my husband to come back from the gym for breakfast. He has a disability so there was no way I was going to ask him to go walking to Novotel in the rain. When asked if I was able to put some breakfast aside& take it to my room. Answer: no straight away… no compassion. Then checked with the chef who said in this case yes.
Thank you to the chef for showing compassion.
The location was okay
The rooms were warm and comfortable
Price was reasonable
The whole parking thing is challenging
There is no proper front entrance, had to park down the street
Details weren't explained very well as the person kept answering phone calls
Location was really good and the staff at the reception was very nice. Really good that there was a secure car park as well and bed was comfy.
No money invested in the rooms since they basically built the hotel, no chrome cast on the TV’s, the bathrooms are ancient, the water from the shower was coming out and it even got the carpet in the room because it was flooding, so I couldn’t even pick up my stuff without jumping into that puddle, the water didn’t go steamy hot, it was warm but not hot for the freezing weather. We got the Ground floor which meant we heard every single noise outside cleaners people etc and our view was a lovely rubbish bin. The carpet was stained and old. Honestly hotels NEED to be invested in over the years because otherwise they will get so bad no one will ever want to stay there! The fridge was so old it kept making noises throughout the night. This was $350 a night!!! Like if I was paying $100 then okay whatever, would be good enough but not for that price and the name Ibis should be better than that. Honestly so disappointed. I’m a very positive person but it hurts when you pay that much money to stay in a place like this.
good linen and comfortable pillows
The staff were really helpful and friendly
There was no hot water for shower at night. Was told it was due to the hotel being busy. No really good enough. The rooms were not super clean and very run down.
La propreté
La location près du lac. Trop pratique
Rien
Staff are good
The shower is cold and the pressure isn't the best.
Neat clean warm room. Reception staff was awesome. She sorted us with a better room.
Well located Ibis Hotel in Rotorua - plenty of parking in hotel and streets nearby with short walk to main section of town and other attractions. The hotel was quiet and very minimal noise around. Shared amenitites with nearby Novotel. Rooms are comfortable, not overly large but was ok for our one night stay.
Efficient service and breakfast service was good - good selection and yummy meals.
Would highly recommend checking this hotel out if in town
The location was close to town, and we had a lovely view of the lake from our room which made for a pleasant environment.
I got stuck in the lift which wasn't a pleasant experience. It didn't last long but it did upset me a little when using the lift again.
From the staff member that rescued me I was under the impression this wasn't an isolated incident.
L’emplacement
On est allé prendre le petit déjeuner à 7:30 et à 8:00 ils commençaient déjà à retirer le buffet. Alors que c’est censé finir à 10h. Incompréhension
