Good location close to restaurants and bars )off the Medina
Unfriendly staff
Terrible food
Restaurant with bad smell
Stayed for 3 nights arriving on Eid. Check in was busy, but they got through the queue as quickly as possible. The reception area is beautiful. Once we paid the tourist tax, the security took our bags and showed us to our room.
Our room was large, with 2 beds, tv (which we never turned on) wardrobe and dresser. Plus quite honestly the best mini fridge I’ve had in a room ever. Large bathroom, with toiletries. We had a balcony overlooking the patio area. Room was tired, but clean. We asked for extra pillows and they were delivered quickly. Beds were firm. In reception and in the lifts they have a qr code which opens a what’s app chat, and you can request anything you need for your room.
We had breakfast included, which was a bit chaotic, often no plates or cutlery, and the coffee machine was often being fixed, but I never went hungry, the omelettes were good, and the pastries. Was nice to see the tortoise as well!
Outside, the pool guy was always busy and would sort you mattresses and towels. One day he could see I was chilly and brought me a roasting hot one from the dryer!
We had lunch on our last day, sitting in the patio, which was nice, we had chicken burger and pizza, both were tasty.
Right next door was a conscience store where you could get water, juice etc, and a short walk away was a shopping centre with a supermarket, and Starbucks.
Great hotel with a good location, would stay again
Just back from a 3 night stay here with my wife and enjoyed ourselves at the Diwane.
The hotel is lovely but rooms a bit dated but clean and thats the main thing but the beds for me were a bit hard and after 3 nights ive came home with a sore neck.
Breakfast wasnt to my choice but the hotel is in a busy area so theres plenty places outside to pick from.
The staff were friendly and always happy to help, especially round the poolside and the pool was nice and deep for a good swim.
The hotel bar only sells alcohol free drinks but thats not a problem if you do want a proper alcoholic refreshment as there are 3 or 4 bars within a 5 minute walk from the hotel ( highly recommend O Frenchys bar and restaurant) .
Id would stay here again.
Breakfast
Spent four nights here with my close friend and, we have to say, we really enjoyed ourselves.
The staff were polite, professional and always willing to assist with any enquiry we had. Especially the poolside staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the man who looked after the area. He was friendly, smiley and, a little bit of a flirt! Which was just harmless fun, even when I had an ooops moment due to my menopausal brain!
We had one of the Standard rooms. The beds were comfy and supportive, good for my back. The standard of cleanliness was very high. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss but overall we got what we wanted to set us up for the day, so it was all good in the end. Besides, when we relaxed at the pool the bar there had a good range of snacks at budget friendly prices. The only downside is that guests are allowed to smoke, yuk!
So, in a nutshell, it's a great place to stay without breaking the bank and, its location means everything is pretty close to hand for going out and about sightseeing.
We came here on a very cheap package with easyJet and were slightly apprehensive having read some of the reviews. The hotel far exceeded our expectations - yes it is a bit faded but very pretty still with lovely ceramic tiling and a gorgeous atrium with a huge chandelier. Our room was fairly basic but spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable and very spacious with an equally spacious bathroom. It overlooked the street but wasn’t that noisy - and for us much preferable to overlooking the pool with the constant loop of disco music. The room was cleaned daily and bed linen and towels changed during our short stay. In the evenings traditional musicians play in the dining room which is lovely, but you can eat much better in ‘town’. All the staff were really kind, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ok but the juices heavily sweetened. Omelettes made to order are very good. We enjoyed sharing the breakfast room with the resident tortoise munching away on a lettuce leaf! Location is a fair walk from the centre (20-30 minutes, very straightforward route) but we were prepared for that having stayed in the area before, and like to walk. Loads of taxis if you don’t! Overall we really liked the hotel, excellent value.
This hotel was a good base to explore Marrakech, there wasn’t much atmosphere at the hotel, we did upgraded to a superior room which was a bit more stylish, however, the bed was very hard and the pillows were uncomfortable. The pool guy was great he really does work so hard, other members of staff were a little abrupt/rude and when we asked to extend the room to 4.30 pm on day of leaving we were quoted at first 100 dirhams and then when we came to pay the wanted to charge us 450 dirhams, be careful of being ripped off. Also the hotel is a little run down and the breakfast is basic. Overall I’d say this hotel is more a 2-3 star not a 4*.
A long weekend for some winter sun. We booked through easyJet holidays.
The hotel is located not far from the train station (5 mins walk) a couple of supermarkets are also within 5-10 mins walk. The Medina and Souks are a long ish walk (maybe 1 hour) or 5 mins taxi ride. Tour buses pick up from this hotel.
The hotel rooms are dated but clean. We originally had a first room we had did not have a balcony, it also stank of smoke. It was however more modern that the Superior room we moved to. The superior room had a balcony, also had a fridge and safe (but I did not check if these were also in the first room.
The beds were comfortable, and we requested additional pillows. The bathroom with shower over bath, toilet and bidet had a difficult lock - not suitable to use in the night. The balcony had 2 chairs and a table, the room only 1 chair.
I didn't count the plug sockets in the room, but there was one either side of our twin beds. There was also a other that the TV was plugged into.
It was a shame there was no kettle in the room. There was a bar that did tea/ coffee/ soft drinks & some non alcoholic beers, but after a while (generally in Morroco) pathetic sized cups of tea and coffee get on your nerves, well they did for us anyway!
The hotel reception area has some sofas and there are chairs/ benches in the outside courtyard. The pool is a reasonable size for a city centre location, and there are many loungers.
We used the restaurant only for included breakfast. It has a good selection of hot and cold food, although the restocking of cutlery, plates and particularly cups is very slow. There are cold options including salad, oats, cheese, ham, breads and pastries. Hot option include: scrambled egg, vegetables, potatoes, porridge, fresh cooked eggs or omelette and fresh cooked pancakes.
Service from all staff in the hotel was fantastic. Always very helpful and polite nothing is too much trouble.
The spa is good. Price labels attached to this review. We had a 50 mins massage, but we were in there just over an hour. It was a great massage, but perhaps a little firmer than it needed to be. It does need booking though. The paper underwear has given us a lot of laughs, it's not functional and doesn't leave anything to ones imagination 🤣
I booked this hotel through easyJet holidays and was a little nervous after reading the negative reviews on Diwane but once there we couldn’t see why. The hotel is not a 4* but it is clean, quiet and the staff friendly. It’s a very pleasant hotel with a true feel of Morocco. I’d much rather have that than a hotel chain. The rooms have air conditioning, a safe and a mini fridge. We upgraded to a room with a balcony which overlooked the pool/snack bar area which looked serene. The pool is unheated so we didn’t get to use it but it looked so inviting. Diwane is located just a 10 minute taxi ride from the main Jemma el fna square and souks. One tip - don’t ask the hotel to order you a taxi as it cost about £22 and it should only cost around £7/8. Turn left on leaving the hotel and flag a yellow taxi on the main road. You need to haggle prices before getting in or they will overcharge you. This hotel is great value for money when you spend most of your time out sightseeing and come back to a nice clean room at the end of the day. We would 100% stay here again.
L’emplacement et chambre très jolie !
Personnel sympathique !
Bruit de travaux
From start to finish we had an amazing experience at this hotel. The staff were amazing, warm and friendly. The spa is a must the treatments are just wonderful. The rooms are big, spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. A big thank you to Haitam who works at he pool bar and during breakfast. Haitam went out of his way to make us feel like family. He gave us loads of information about activities we could. Any questions I had about the language or culture he was more than happy to answer. Haitam always has friendly smile on his face. He made our trip extra special.
We come here regularly when in the area as it offers a central stay at reasonable prices.
Room quality varies and this time it was an older room but quiet as away from the noise of the main road. The room was adequate but does need updating. No card door opening, Only two easy access plugs and a nice bath in an old bathroom.
Breakfast as always has very limited meat options, but does have nice orange juice, and a useful pancake/omelette station.
It's very close to the train station, and there's a fantastic restaurant nearby.
Renovation during the day
Très bien, copieux, varié,
Was quite dubious around our stay but I don’t have any complaints.. the staff were friendly & helpful, Simone on reception was great! Our room was by the looks a newly decorated and exceptionally clean, very comfy bed & bedding… the dining room was a little worn however the food was good with lots on offer. We had omelettes and traditional Moroccan breakfast which are also freshly made. Pool area was again clean. It was a great base for exploring, also the area around has some great restaurants and cafes.
Get a taxi outside the hotel for 50 mad to the square for 2 people.. they charge per person, it would cost us 100 when there was 5 of us, although got it for 80 on occasion. There’s a shop beside on the left when leaving or if it’s closed to the right around the corner for water etc.
