We stayed here 5 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The double bed room was spacious and the water pressure in the shower was good. We had a view of Tower Bridge and The Shard and river which I loved. The concierges were very nice and helpful. We ate at Vicinity, the hotel’s restaurant, and it was also very good. The lobby is large and comfortable. The TV screen was very large. On our departure the concierge called a taxi for us and the porter took our luggage out for us. It’s located just a few minutes walk from the Tower of London and lots of restaurants. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again.
Avoid this place at all costs, especially if it’s a warm day! It’s like staying in a furnace!
We checked in at around 2:45, foyer was extremely warm (it was about 25 degrees outside but it was hotter at the check in desk!) we were told at check in that it was a “centralised cooling system, and there was no air con in rooms so we couldn’t adjust room temp” the check in lady said that if the rooms were too hot we could request a fan and cooler, I immediately said if the room is going to be as warm as the check in area I wanted fans and coolers (I’d booked 2 rooms) and she said she’d requested them and they be there in 20min. It took a further 2 visits to reception, about 10 attempts to call reception & housekeeping on the numbers they’d gave us and a 2hr wait before we eventually got a fan. It was 31 degrees in the room!
The room furniture is very dated, handles missing off drawers, no fridge, the shower system is lethal! I turned on the rainfall head view what appears to and electric shower control, set it to desired temp (cool obviously considering I was staying on mercury!) I then turned on the “wand” part of shower thinking it was controlled by same thermostat that I’d been using for rainfall… what a mistake! Seemed ok to begin with and then temp shot up to massively hot! I can only describe it as having the Xenomoroph’s blood out of Alien being spilt onto my manly bit, it nearly melted them off it was that hot!
I would not consider the room we are in as 4* as advertised, 3 at best. Everything is dated, no air con, gotta fight for a fan, no fridge. Check out the photos for true review.
Would we stay agin? For £200+ for 1 night to be cooked alive… not a chance!
Excellent location.
Tired rooms with urgent revamp required. Considering the price and its 4 star status, it’s time the owners invest a little in bringing the standards up.
Location and lovely staff. Amazing views.
Very dated and the room was tired and desperately needs updating.
Room was absolutely roasting and air con did not work
Location is amazing with view on the Tower Bridge and the Thames
Bathroom had mold from the bath to the ceiling.
Everything
Nothing
It has everything you would expect of a large hotel. Tough it is a little outdated. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The location is wonderful. And the room offered a view on part of the tower bridge.
The lobby was being reconstructed and you could smell the kitchen there, and not in a good way. The hotel is a little outdated but is is still kept clean and in good working order.
Location was brilliant loved away check in and bars and food trucks was just fabulous weekend
