I cannot fault the hotel. We we were on a all inclusive deal which was good value for the money and makes everything easier. The food was really good and the evening entertainment and staff in the main bar were excellent. The pool was really good but need to be early for sunbed on the sunny side of hotel. The room we had was really nice and large although we were close to a lively bar across the road that played loud music till midnight but that was just our luck. Allan in all we very much enjoyed our holiday.
Friendly staff , helpful , place spotlessly clean hotel just tired , having refurbishment in jan 20 months Area a bit hilly
This is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. At 6.30 am the noise starts, the bin wagons arrive noisily collecting and emptying the hotel bins Then the dray wagon offloading kegs and crates. Then the staff pull all the wheelie bins noisily into the middle of the lane and hose them all down and eventually drag them back along again. About 7.30 am 3 or 4 skips were then offloaded into the lane below our rooms. No other rooms would have been quieter as they were overlooking the car park or the pool area. They need to consider that customers come here for a rest and not to be woken by this awful racket every morning. Avoid this hotel.
6 of us went 3 couples
From the start it was great.
Easy check in
Rooms spacious and spotless.
Minor issue no kettle in room. Asked at reception and were given one
All the staff . Very friendly and helpful
One of the group was placed in room where work was being carried out below
Asked and was moved the next morning.
The pool plenty of beds no issues getting 6 us together each day. Bonus towels given each day for pool.
Stayed Bed a b . Breakfast was fine just what you expect from hotels.
Short walk down to beach
Sems longer coming up . Hill is a little steep.
Would I go to this hotel
Too right I would
Thank you to all staff at the Fanabe
Our arrival to this hotel was very smooth and the staff were lovely and helpful. When we got to the room I can’t lie I felt disappointed, the room was in need of refurbishment and felt a bit of a let down. Three of us were in the room, there were only two chairs & two glasses which seemed a bit thoughtless. We were on the first floor room 117 right outside the kids play area which was very noisy so the balcony wasn’t the most peaceful of places to be.
Now the positives, the beds were really comfortable and the pillows were great the shower was excellent. Such good pressure and I was sad to leave it.
The staff were all really good and friendly, very attentive. This hotel I found to be very clean, couldn’t fault it at all.
The restaurant was absolute chaos for breakfast so I avoided that most of the week but we had the evening meal once and it was a really nice vibe and the food was good.
I will say we never managed to get a sun bed in the sun, people had their towels down from early for the whole day so the one time we went to the pool we had to stand in the sun to dry off as it was cold in the shade where the only available beds were. We liked the pool, it was good and a decent temperature.
Pretty decent location for this hotel right next to the market and not far from the beach at all, though quite a steep hill.
I stayed at GF Fañabé for about one month in December 2025 while searching for long-term accommodation. My experience was extremely disappointing and at times deeply concerning. The reception staff consistently refused every request I made. There was little to no willingness to assist, and no effort to provide any type of service. Calling a taxi for me multiple times a day to get out of the place was the only thing they were willing to do.
To name a FEW issues:
- I requested the replacement of a visibly stained pillow after my room was presumably cleaned. I used the card they make you use to 'request' a clean bed every day. When notifying reception of this I was told they would replace it (again) right away. After they left for the second time I removed the pillow sheet and it was the same dirty pillow with the same recognizable yellow stains. When I asked for an actual replacement I was told this was not possible “because it was Christmas”, and that they would not be able to obtain a clean one. After that I removed ALL the bedding myself to see how far that damage goes and I was severely shocked to find a heavily stained mattress, all layers of sheets inbetween and bedframe underneath. See photos. Each and every layer was downright disgusting and even the bottom of the bedframe had actual stains of excrements on it. See photos. During my stay, I developed a severe fungal infection, which medical professionals later linked to the bed. It was not bedbugs, which I was afraid of, but a serious hygiene issue from the hotel bed.
I had to remove everything except for a wooden bedside table out of my room and put it in the hallway because I wouldn't sleep one more day even close to it. Apparently it was Christmas so nothing else could be done and I had no other option. The side effect of that was that other customers could see the stains on everything and were also raising their concerns. Only after that management was willing to listen to me. During that conversation I informed the staff that the phone I had put on the desk was recording all of their conversations to have it translated and potentially reported to the health authorities afterwards. All of a sudden they managed to provide a replacement mattress, sheets, pillow and even a bedframe. What happened to it being Christmas?? I kept the mattress wrapped in plastic and ended up sleeping on the floor for hygienic reasons. See photos.
At another point, I had blood coming from my ear and feared a serious medical emergency and rushed to the reception for help. The receptionist told me they had no in-house doctor and instructed me to return to my room. When I insisted and requested an ambulance, she initially refused and instead questioned me about insurance matters, which was neither appropriate, professional or any of her business in that situation. After repeatedly emphasizing and pointing her at the blood.coming.out.of.my.ear streaming into my neck, she finally called a taxi to take me to the emergency room after SEVEN minutes. The delay in assistance was alarming. I couldve seriously died from brain damage because of her delays. See photos of email to higher departments
Later when I was completely deaf in one ear because of that, the gal even had the nerve to tell me she wouldnt talk to me at all 'like this' and refused ANY answer - when I was only trying to listen sideways with the ear that still worked to what she was saying. She saw this as "attitude, and not even showing the respect of looking at her when she speaks". Complete insanity and beyond rude in every way.
The housekeeping staff entered my room multiple times despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door. I discovered this by coincidence when I was sitting on the balcony and they must have assumed the room was empty when we bumped into eachother. Although I left daily tips for the cleaning, and put everything in a bag for them to simply pickup the room was barely cleaned. The bedsheets were made to appear tidy, but little else was done. On one occasion, a bag of trash I had left for removal was placed back inside my room(??!). The laundry service applied surcharges to every order even though the forms were calculated by reception.
There were also repeated payment and reservation issues. While cash was accepted upon arrival, extensions were repeatedly refused in cash until the manager, José, had to step in at the last minute to approve/fix it. He might show up at 10.00, or 11.00. You'll just have to be there, wait and see. Every time the reception kept saying it was impossible to pay with cash when it was clearly not, and had been done multiple times before. Even when payments were made in advance through a travel agency by bank (approximately €1700), I was told there was no reservation found. These repeated administrative problems caused significant stress and uncertainty about whether I would be asked to leave, or return to an emptied room. I had sleepless nights and had to cancel many activities and housing visits just to stay in my room until José decided to show up somewhere before 12PM each and every time.
The room itself had single-glazed windows, offering little to no sound insulation. Loud repetitive live-entertainment music played daily on one side, and a karaoke bar on the other side of the street blasted noise until midnight. The shower only has a glass door that stops at the edge of the bathtub. This design, or lack of maintenance of it, caused water to leak onto the floor regardless of how carefully it was used. Only two towels per day were provided, and one had to be used to keep your feet dry after a shower. Additionally, tourists frequently fed pigeons, resulting in large numbers gathering on the balconies. The food in the restaurant isn't good or bad. But almost every table is set next to the path where people can walk and they will continuously cough towards you and your food. If the room doesn't get you sick this will.
Based from what I saw at some other reviews I anticipate that management may respond by deflecting responsibility or suggesting that concerns should have been raised differently, or at all. However, the photographic evidence speaks for itself. I also added my email to management from dec 24th. It was told to them in person and I emailed their top department about all of this at some point. Their different departments are not coördinated and they are simply twofaced trying anything to keep the place going. No fuss, you get sent away.
On tripadvisor it also states they speak multiple languages. They do not. They speak spanish, and some have a basic understanding of English. That's it.
Overall, I found the hotel to be poorly maintained, unhygienic, and lacking in professional service. After returning to The Netherlands to recover, the infections resolved within one week. I would strongly advise potential guests to consider these factors carefully and decide to book elsewhere.
As a final suggestion: the hotel I returned to for the month of February was a much better experience for roughly the same amount of money and it's only 200m distance to GF fanabe. You can find more about that in my reviews and I would advice you to go there (or anywhere else really).
GF Fanabe
This was our second visit to the Fanabe Hotel in Costa Adeje.
Arrival at the hotel was smooth and we only had a short wait to check in where a man started our check in then Suzy, who I am sure checked us in on our last visit finished the check in. We got our all inclusive bands and our safe key which was free. We also got our meal ticket and our pool towels ticket. Then we went to the Hall Bar for a refreshment while awaiting our room being ready.
We were on the 4th floor in room 4479. The double 4 confused me until part way through our stay we realised it was a connecting room to 479. We had a beautiful seaview, over looking rooftops to the sea.
Our room like last time was roomy and clean. Plenty room to store our clothes as well as a bench which we mainly used for the swim wear. There are two hooks for hanging coats or towels. There was also a sofa with a table and chairs set too. There was a mini fridge and a tv with English channels. The beds were high but I found them very comfy and slept well.
The bathroom was clean and roomy too. The power of the water was strong. Hot water whenever we wanted it.
The Balcony had two chairs and a table and was ideal for sunsets and drying wet things. It had the sun most of the day which was great.
The Bars… there are 3 and within 2 hours of arriving we visited all 3. The Hall Bar is nice for a morning cup of tea or a juice and alcohol or mocktails too. In the evening we found it was mainly table service but just go to the bar during the day.
The pool bar depended on how busy it was. On our first visit the staff were falling over themselves to help us when we sat down but we hadn’t decided yet. Nothing was too much trouble. During 12.30-4.30pm you can order at the snack bar too for food. There was a fridge with fruit, yoghurts, salad, sandwiches and pastries. I was disappointed when I went to the ice cream as gone was the lovely self service ice cream and replaced with the cheap tubs you find in mainland Spain. The staff were great and the food was ok. I enjoyed the fruit pots as they were nice and refreshing,
The Solarium Bar on the Rooftop was great for a drink while sunbathing. This is adults only and when families tried to join, staff did remove the families which was good to see.
The main restaurant was fine. Breakfast had good choices from cereal, continental choices, lovely bread and pastries, cooked options including veggies, eggs, omelettes and pancakes. There was a decent fruit and yoghurt selection as well as milk and seeds.
We found lunch to be not as big a choice and lacking. It was better to go to the pool bar.
Evenings had a good choice of salads, meats, vegetables, fish options. There was puddings of cakes or ice creams with toppings. My only disappointment was seeing a soft serve ice cream TikTok and it was never open.
The hotel was regularly being cleaned. We always found a sunbed on the rooftop no bother. But did see people going to the main pool while we were in breakfast.
The location of the hotel is up a hill. But we realised if you crossed the road there was less on an incline on the way back up. Taxi’s are cheap and frequent too. The market is next door, and plenty shops nearby with a short walk to beaches. The wee train stops outside the hotel too.
My only disappointment was on our last night. I was questioned as to why I don’t drink alcohol. It wasn’t just once several staff seemed perplexed by wanting mocktails or a cup of tea. I didn’t feel I should explain myself but my husband was irritated by it so started to tell people it was medical reasons.
I don’t think we will manage to return before their refurbishment starts but it is an ideal base and a great hotel to stay at. It does make me sad that I will not be able to spend my 50th there next year.
I am currently staying here in room 285.
The rooms in my opinion are quite dated and do need a freshen up. The hairdryer in the room sounds like it’s going to explode everytime I put it on and the shower head is broken it doesn’t stay in place so water sprays everywhere.
The hotel itself is very clean there is always cleaners around which is great, the hotel could just do with some TLC in some areas as it looks a little shabby , I feel like it’s more of a good three star rather than a four star.
I was bed and breakfast and the breakfast was always very nice and a lot of choices.
The room had a fridge to keep drinks in but as I was bed and breakfast only I thought maybe there would be a little kitchen area but there isn’t, that’s a fault on my part so just something to bare in mind when booking.
The pools are lovely and clean and there were plenty of sun beds available you also get free towels which is good.
Overall it was a comfortable stay I would stay here again it could be such a lovely hotel with some TLC.
Personalas, švara.
Maisto kokybe labai suprastėjo
Het dakterras met zwembad
Het is wat gedateerd allemaal en wij blijken toch niet meer zo van het massale te houden.
Stated at the GF Fanabe 3 times now and this time did not disappoint. We stayed in a family room on first floor overlooking the pool. Room was clean and very spacious for two adults and two kids staying for the week. The fact it was one floor up meant it was easy to go back to the room countless times when you forget swimming goggles.
Location of the hotel is great. It’s a nice walk down to the front where there are loads of restaurants and bars and not too far from the beach. Siam park and Siam mall are 10 minute taxi ride away which was about € 10-15. I would recommend going at night when it’s cooler. Not far from the airport. We ended up taking a taxi from airport which was about €35
Food and drinks were good. We did the all inclusive so it’s the local brands eg Dorado which was fine. Breakfast was great. Everyone had something they liked. We didn’t do lunch in main restaurant but mainly got burger chips and pizza from the pool bar. Food there was great. Easy when you can just get it and then let the kids back into the pool without needing to get changed.
The staff were amazing. From the reception staff booking in to dealing with a room change for our daughter who was with the rest of our family. To the bar staff all through the day and all at night. These guys were so good with us and the kids. I think it helped because I spoke a bit of Spanish to them. Nothing major just general chat. They helped me lots with pronunciations and were very appreciative of the effort. Ones who stood out were Moses , Will and the girl who mainly worked in the reception bar during the day serving coffee.
The entertainment staff wee amazing. The main lady I forgot her name) but was so good with the kids. She was Austrian (I think) but spoke perfect English and Spanish so was so inclusive to the kids. She also dealt very well with some mos behaving kids. The rest of her team were great too. The mini disco was my youngest daughter’s main event of the day. We had to get back to make that every night.
The adult entertainment was really good too especially at the pool bar at night. Such a nice setting and because we overlooked the pool we could watch / listen from the room.
My only complaint and it’s not a minor one was that the internet was a bit glitchy sometimes which meant the kids had to jump on my hot spot sometimes. Not major complaint but something I would suggest to see about improving.
Overall we had a great stay and look forward to coming back again.
Lovely hotel, excellent facilities. Very clean, lovely staff.
Nothing
What a amazing time. food great entertainment team was 5 stars. Very clean everywhere
This was our first time ever in Tenerife and I am very happy to have picked this hotel . Big complex with all amenities catered for . Rooms are big pools are plenty, the roof top is amazing. There’s a gym a hairdressers a spa . Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good . Will definitely return next year . Highly recommend
Don't often do reviews but felt I had to for one particular reason. This hotel is apparently closing for a major refurb very soon so you might have expected a lack lustre attitude but nothing could have been further from the truth.
Firstly food and drink, great selection of top class food and drink every day with steaks, lamb chops, pork fillets, chicken breasts and seafood cooked fresh on the grills in front of you along with huge selection of salad stews and veg.
Secondly the entertainment was of a good standard every night and the pleasant animation team worked hard to make sure everyone felt involved.
Lastly and most importantly the staff at this hotel were absolutely fantastic, Adrian,Aziz,Lenin,Francisco, Luis, Laura, Maria and especially,(Gots)Will do everything to make sure you have a great holiday. Hopefully all the staff here are accomadated at other gf hotels when Fanabe closes
Great positioned hotel. Albeit its quite a slope to get to hotel. Welcoming entrance and majority of bar staff very helpful. Lift to all rooms. Very clean rooms. Linen and towels changed regularly. Hotel a bit tired.
Always a pleasant lovely stay at the GF Fanabe. 7 times in 5 years . Travelled solo this time -. from the reception staff to the restaurant /bar staff they are always very welcoming. Food is terrific and the hotel is a great location. The entertainment team is brilliant . Always engaging with guests and trying to get them to join in activities. Rooms very spacious and clean with maid service every day if required.
Ok there is a bit of paint required in the corridors of the floors but hey no problem at all. You’re on holiday, who cares about a scruff mark on the wall.
I think the GF Fanabe is an excellent hotel . Not far from the beach or shops and luxury shopping centre .
The only downside the sunbed situation in July, August on a previous holiday at the GF Fanabe in 2024. when I had to been down by 6.30am to get a decent bed for my family. However that is my Choice to get up . I could get up later and go to the kids pool around the corner and easily get a bed.
I am going back to the Fanabe in November 2026. I cannot wait xxx
We’ve just returned from another lovely stay at GF Fañabé and once again it didn’t disappoint.
The location is excellent — just over a 5-minute walk to the beach (though be prepared for a bit of an uphill walk on the way back!). There’s a supermarket directly across the road which is really handy, although the hotel itself also has a very well-stocked shop.
The main pool area is large with plenty of sunbeds, although not all are in full sun. If you want a prime spot you do need to be quick in the morning as they get reserved fast. The rooftop terrace is another great place to relax with lots of seating, two pools, and an adults-only atmosphere — again, sunbeds here are popular and go quickly. Families are well catered for too, with children having their own dedicated area at the side of the hotel.
Entertainment is one of the highlights. Music starts outside around 8pm and there are different acts performing on the stage near the main pool, which creates a really fun evening atmosphere.
Food choice is very good with plenty of variety — even fussy eaters should easily find something they like. Drinks are also reasonably priced (around €5 for a glass of wine), which we thought was fair for a hotel.
Yes, parts of the hotel are a little dated, but we genuinely love staying here because everything else more than makes up for it. We’re already looking forward to coming back after the refurbishment planned for 2027.
