The staff was excellent
A little tired.breakfast a little cold but plenty to choose from
I am leaving today and thought I would write this review I am with my 15yr old son. The hotel is amazing. Yes probably does need a little update but I haven't found anything to complain about. All so clean.
Rooms:- i cant fault we had a fantastic view. Very clean and plenty of space. Yes it can be noisy at night from the entertainment but you are either enjoying it or wear ear plugs.
Wardrobe plenty of space with hangers. A safe which I think is free though we didn't use. Beds so comfy I wanted to take mine home. I brought my own kettle
and mugs but you can higher a kettle.
Pool:- yes if you put pool towels down early and leave them they will take them and fold them and put on a chair. Which is fair. Still beds avaliable now and its 9.55am. You get free pool towels you can change everyday. The big pool the end by the shop is deep i cant touch the bottom. Steps going down. The other end is shallower. Another children's pool round the back. I never used this so cant comment. Pool I thought was warm enough definitely not cold. My son and I tended just to pop down to the pool for a swim then go to the rooftop. Which is for over 16yrs. Plenty of beds . 2 x plunge pools nice and refreshing with a bar. No snack bar. An area is closed off if you want to go nude.
Food :- I have no complaints about the food. Something for everyone. Yes can get abit the same if your all inclusive. But at least you have a nice choice. We had a picnic made up one day as we were out. Just ask at reception.
Drinks :- nice choice and good measures local drinks unless you want to pay. I never had to as I thought they all taste the same.
Entertainment:- good entertainment for the children you could go by the pool and they do mini disco then something else.
Or for a more chilled evening sit out the front where you have entertainment. The only thing is it can take awhile sometimes for someone to serve you. Waiters come and take your orders at the table. If you dont want to wait go upto the bar.
Hotel and staff :- i cannot fault. All staff are very friendly and willing to help. The hotel itself is spotless .
Area :- yes its on abit of a hill but close to the beach. Takes about 15mins to walk to puerto colon. The sea is nice and refreshing. Water showers to wash of the sand. If you have mobility issues you can always yet a single/twin scooter (everyone was using these) you can use electric scooters or get a taxi all very easy.
Trips :- we went on a few trips. We did the:-
Tuk tuk up to the mountains this takes about an hour and the views are amazing. Our guide was very nice.pickup outside the hotel
Whale and dolphin watching. From puerto colon this is a 3hr trip. We saw loads and a turtle. But dont do of you get sea sick.
Siam park is a must. We arrived at 8.30am. We got fast passes €38 each but so worth it. We managed to do everything. Got a taxi there but you can always get the free bus back.
Para sailing was fantastic from puerto colon this is my 3rd time doing it and anyage can go.
Crazy ufo I was the oldest and got bruises. Definitely one for people younger than me. But I did it.
This is my 3rd time to tenerife and loved everytime. You won't be disappointed.
Last minute booking for myself, my partner and our two 17 year old daughters. Only stayed 5 days, all inclusive.
Great holiday, and really decent hotel. Starting with the staff, everyone we spoke to was very friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Reception, bars, cleaners, restaurant, they were a great bunch and a credit to the hotel.
All inclusive we used for every meal, which is rare for us, we'd usually eat out at least a few times, but no need here. Plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It gets busy, but the team always found us a table, and the food was topped up as needed. Coffee was a bit crap from the machines, but you can get a much better one from the bar! My daughters used the snack bar most days, burgers, chicken nuggets, chips.
Bars during the day were quick. AI did not include 'everything' which is pretty normal, but even the handful of cocktails that were included were made properly. During the evening, the bar at the front of the hotel generally had a singer outside, background music really. The bar then provides table service, good choices, and the staff did seem to come back to your table as the glasses were emptying. We didn't generally stay late here, and instead visited the bars on the front, about 5 mins walk away, its good night out, down there with live music etc. We did not look at any of the entertainment program that was on show each evening by the pool.
Pools - the main pool has the same issue as so many places. Sun beds gone before breakfast. That was not an issue for us, as over 16's were allowed to use the rooftop solarium, which has a well stocked bar, 2 small pools. Plenty of space and sun-beds here. These pools could use a refurb, but done the job. We left the main pool for the families with younger kids, we've been there and done that, happy to have left them to it.
Rooms were well cleaned daily, of decent size, and comfortable. We felt they were a little dated, and perhaps in need of a little modernisation. But more than suitable.
The only downside is that the place, not just the rooms does feel a little like it needs some modernisation. That all said, it was good value for money, and we'd happily visit again. Costa Adeje, and this hotel provided a great holiday.
Nice entertainment nice workers pool is amazing
Perfect location for going into.costa adeji family night life 5 minute walk down the hill if you want the beach, bars and restaurants on the front. Hotel not best looking from outside(concrete beige colour) but its got everything you need from getting pool towels provided for when your round the pool and then you just hand in at end of day and get new for next day. Food in the restaurant is different every night and you got a good selection as well as sweet selection for.the kids with ice cream etc.
Excursions there is somebody in the lobby and they are really helpful if wanting to go siam park or whale watching very helpful.
The animation team are also brillant with the kids and activities are on every other hour. Theres a football pitch and play area
, hotel will get you a taxi and theres a taxi rank over road and down hill. Theres a supermarket over the road and down the escalators if you come half board and theres loads of shops for your every need as well as excursion places. If you come and out of hotel and turn right go down hill you are 5 mins from all the beachfront where all bars and restaurants etc are. Drink on tap.is dorada which is not bad beer and theres selection of cocktails you get on all inclusive and burgers ,pizzas and chips around pool and slushes. Also if you go.over the road on thursdays and.sundays there is a market with all kinds of clothes and stuff been sold recommend going bit later on as does get busy first thing.
The hotel itself is a bit dated but its very clean and the rooms are big enough for families with fridge etc and tv Entertainment on night is ok as well.michael.jackson tributes, circus acts. There is 2 pools i used and third on roof but that is for adults only. Main pool and kids pool around the back where the football pitch is.
I would recommend this hotel as right on the money location wise and if you want a family holiday with everything you need without breaking bank brill hotel.
Not worth the money , no balls or lilos allowed in the pool, food rubbish, some of the staff were rude, couldn’t do anything without getting told off. we visit Tenerife a lot and this is probably the worst hotel we have stayed at we have stayed in cheaper better hotels in Tenerife than here. Do not waste your money to come here terrible.
I came here as a party of 10 and I have to say I wasn’t that impressed. The hotel is very clean etc, albeit extremely dated but I believe it is getting refurbished next year.
We had no shampoo from day 2 and when the room was clean it wasn’t refilled. Not an issue I thought I’ll pop to reception and they took my room number and would get someone to replace. Went up that night and nothing there. Luckily family members next door shared with us by pouring some in a glass. For the 8 remaining days we were never given any shampoo….. I thought it would be a basic thing to top up.
Food was quite average I thought. Breakfast was great and the omelettes and pancakes lovely. But lunch and dinner I struggled to find things to eat, the labelling was often all wrong too. What was labelled cheese bites were actually fish so if someone had an allergy they wouldn’t have known.
Drinks service in the restaurant there were 2 occasions we ordered, but the drinks never came!
At evening entertainment it is table service and most nights we waited over 30 minutes to be served and often our order came incomplete or wrong.
There was an incident in the baby pool where a child was in difficulty and the lifeguards never even noticed! Just laughing with each other on their phones. They were not even aware anything happened, which is seriously concerning in a kids pool!
Sunbed situation was ridiculous. We were at breakfast 8:30 everyday, and all sunbeds gone, we spent the entire 10 days at the baby pool, it would have been nice for the older kids in the group to get a chance in the main pool.
There was often a smell of weed all the time in our corridor and loads of times round the baby pool which was concerning.
Finally the hotel really need to get kids pooing in the hotel under control, we had a baby with us and it’s really not difficult to use a swim nappy with an over nappy to protect them and everyone else. I find it baffling not often this hotels pool is closed due to it!
Because of this - all of our swimwear is absolutely ruined. We spent money on our swimwear and our babies swimwear and due to them needing to ‘shock’ the pool due to the poo, all of our swimwear is stained a dirty yellow colour and some of us got blotches on our skin.
I’m absolutely gutted as all of our swimwear is ruined.
Overall we managed to enjoy the holiday, but sadly we won’t be back here, there was just too many things that let it down, and it’s shame as genuinely the hotel is very clean and the majority of the staff very friendly.
Where do I start if you want a nice holiday don’t choose here. If you are looking for 4 star accommodation this isn’t it we had cockroaches in our rooms daily the smell of drugs down our corridor on floor 1 was overwhelming we found cockroaches crawling on the bread at breakfast. Drunk people kids running and screaming at 12-1am every night this was a holiday of nightmares for us I cannot fathom the reviews that say this place is amazing it’s dated dirty and definitely not 4 star
Me and My husband had the best time, what a lovely stay and all the staff worked so hard, and so friendly. We be back next year. Thank you so much love Kev and miche room 236. ☀️☀️😊
Today is our last day at the GF Fanabe hotel after a week, and we're here for the first time.
We have loved our stay. Rooms are spacious and cleaned daily if you require.
The whole hotel is cleaned and maintained well.
Staff work incredibly hard, they are polite and friendly and have a great sense of humour.
Food is of a good standard, cooked well and fresh. It can be a bit samey but thats normal after eating at the same place for a week! Chefs make and cook the meats etc to order and the omelettes in the morning are delicious.
We only used the main pool its a decent size and great to have a deep end for our teen who loves swimming.
Just a heads up, you can access the sun loungers from early (I'm an early bird so was down by 7.45am but you can't just pop your towels down and leave. You need to stay with them, or they will be lifted. (Only one person needs to stay) Then after 10am you can leave them and they won't get lifted.
Works well and we never had an issue getting one. If you're heading out you will usually have no problem getting a sun lounger later.
Staff entertainment team are great and enthusiastic,
It's nice to have a couple of choices in an evening to sit and have a drink by the pool area or at the front of the hotel.
Its in a lovely area, plenty shops etc. 15 minute walk to marina.
First time and won't be the last, not one complaint from us. Lovely hotel and amazing staff.
What a let down!! Used to come here all the time now after spending a week there couldn’t wait to get home!! Horrible old woman on reception totally clueless having to wait 3 hours to check in!! Eventually the room was ready but she still had something to say horrible old lady!!!!constant running up the corridor and they were trying to open your door! Put it this way the place is like a hostel it’s definitely not 4 Starr more like a 2 plus!! Cleaners are really good but overall will never stay here a gain! Remember not a 4 starr it’s 2 star plus
Had a lovely room with a great view but was definitely not a 4 star hotel pool closed at 6, entertainment was only on 8-10pm food was very limited(mainly pork) and most of the staff was rude apart from two lovely people(I forgot to get there names). It especially seemed to have a lot of one rule for one person and another for a different person which was very unfair overall I will not be recommending or returning to this hotel
We have been to this hotel on many occasions previously but on this occasion we found that the standards have dropped dramatically. When we arrived we were told the wait would be 2 hours which was understandable as we arrived early. I asked for a drinks voucher which was provided. We then went back 2 hours later and one of the check in staff said it would be another hour but was extremely rude about it when I told her another staff member said 2 hours.
When we arrived at the room the fridge was not working properly and informed the reception staff which they sent the maintenance guy and replaced the fridge immediately and was very friendly.
We were overlooking the football court and the gates were locked but the kids got under the net and were screaming until 12.30 - 1.00am.
The food for a 4 star hotel is very mediocre and is pretty much the same every night. The breakfast is ok.
Great location near to the beach but unfortunately won't be returning unless the standards improve.
Our 3rd stay, everything was as good as previously.
Nothing to report.
This was my 3rd visit too the gf fanabe the hotel was first class as always, nice hotel lovley roof terrace nice breakfast very clean room with good air con, exceptional staff room cleaned daily great view from my balcony, great position too explore costa adeje from and I will definitely be returning...once again. The only downside about the hotel I can comment on is the drinks prices as I was only B&B as I always do i don't generally drink in the hotel is go out but on the last day I had a drink from the lobby bar and was astounded at the price it was €11.50 for a vodka sprite which was measured through an optic I don't mind paying but this generally took the p** there are two bars which I go too across the road from the hotel were they actually tip the spirit straight in a large glass and its only €5 which for more than half the price and twice the drink is the normal I really couldnt belive the bar prices....
Excellent customer service, food was ok, rooms are big and air-conditioning is good. Unfortunately its very loud until late if you have Young kids and very chavvy as well. You cant get a sunbed unless your down very early and sit with the beds. Very average.
Fantastic hotel, super clean everywhere, and very friendly staff! Great location and restaurant had a good choice of buffet foods with vegetarian options. Would thoroughly recommend and will return soon .
Hotel has a good location
Sunbeds on roof could do with an upgrade
