Perfect for work or holiday, central to everything I needed.
Pros:

Spacious room with a view over the ferris wheel and lagoon pool, well equipped gym and easy access to the esplanade walk plus restaurants. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Have stayed at Mantra Trilogy many times and will continue to do so.

Room was smelling like mould. Took my sandals off and floor was damp. Have a dehumidifier in the room to try and help the damp floor. Absolutely putrid

This is not an 'easy' to arrive and settle in choice of accommodation for an overnight stay

Cons:

Accessing the room with bags required two trips from car to the tower - as there were no car parks available.
The room was 'dank' smelling - not surprising given the extended rain following the wet season.
The bath towels were old and harsh, so old there was a hole in the towel!

The location was great, with plenty of restaurants, cafés and tourist attractions all within easy walking distance. It made getting around Cairns really easy.

Cons:

The apartment had an unpleasant odour upon arrival. While I appreciate the hotel's efforts to be environmentally conscious by only servicing rooms on request, I would still expect housekeeping to be provided automatically at least every three days in a hotel of this standard.

The bathroom exhaust fans were not working, and there was visible mould on both the ceiling and walls. The furniture, including the couch, was worn and in poor condition, and the floors felt sticky, giving the apartment an overall unclean feel.

We also requested a late checkout as we had a later flight and were travelling with our toddler. While I completely understand that late checkouts cannot always be accommodated during busy periods, the response we received was abrupt: we were simply told, "No, we're too busy." A more courteous and empathetic response would have been appreciated. There was no attempt to understand our circumstances, explore any alternatives, or offer a compromise. As a result, we were left to spend several hours wandering around Cairns with our toddler before it was time to head to the airport.

Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay. We chose Mantra expecting a higher standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service, particularly as we were travelling with a young child. Cleanliness and hygiene are a top priority for our family, and unfortunately the apartment did not meet our expectations. Combined with the poor condition of the room and the disappointing customer service, this was not the experience we expected from the Mantra brand.
