The gym wasn't bad.
I was charged for the same room multiple times per day (they sent 6 folios for a two night stay). I have tried calling the property a dozen times and nobody picks up the phone. I emailed Marriott and they haven't responded either. I also had to wait ten minutes to check in. Not because there was a line, but because there wasn't an employee behind the desk. Literally no one was working. I had to go to the restaurant. and ask them to send someone to the front desk. When someone finally shpwed up, they did not say sorry or attempt even the slightest service recovery.
Location and historic charm
Parking not included maybe reimburse the parking fees with the stay
Great location and really nice area
Automatic doors didn’t work during the whole stay. Radiators in the room were going all night so it sounded like two boards being clapped together so I got no sleep.
Cleanliness.
Could not adjust the temperature down. too hot.
Ability to walk to the Casey's Arena for concert. Breakfast off the menu was excellent! Theresa at the front desk was extra helpful!! Valeted my car and it was already on the street the next morning when checking out preventing any wait time for the valet to go get it. Complimentary wine in the lobby on Saturday evening.
Good location. Very quiet room.
Had to pay for parking. Signed in to be notified when room was ready, which I didn't get until after I checked in (check in is 4:00. I finally just showed up @ 5:00).Their in house bar started closing at 12:30. They did not offer any information on amenities or even wifi password. No ice machine on every floor. No information in room. No microwave. 1 elevator out of service so on an event night it took forever. Even utilizing the staff elevator.
No heat for three days. Rooms poorly furnished. Whole hotel could use a major update.. Everything looks worn out.
The hotel was excellent. It is clean, staff is friendly and the room was fantastic. Myia at the front desk was stellar. Phoenix was also helpful and great!
Proximity to Des Moines civic center. And that's it.
Room was tiny for what it cost. Bathroom so small you barely had room to sit on the toilet. Door to hall was literally 2 inches from my bed. No parking provided. Loud clanking noises all through the night. Just not very nice for $243. In fact, not very nice for $100!
The grounds and the property were clean.

It was close to the DM Civic Center and lots of places to eat. Comfortable room and bed. Very friendly and helpful staff.
It was a place to sleep. My event was hosted there so I didn't have to travel far from my hotel room. The view only becasue we were on the top floor.
I paid for an upgraded room/experience but everytime I went to check out the lounge, it was closed. The room was actually quite small and did not even have liners in the trash cans
The bathroom was horribly small, especially for the price I paid. The toilet paper wasn't even on a dispenser, how nasty is that?? How many dirty guests hands have utilized that roll prior to us to clean themselves?? The toilet was nearly wedged in the gap between the shower and wall, almost hit my knees on the shower door it was so tight. I could reach out and touch the sink while sitting on the toilet. I wasn't a fan of bumping my elbows everytime I turned around in the shower and forget trying to shower with my partener. I aslo, did not care for the shower door to keep rolling/slifing open 2-3 inches......
The reason for my stay was to attend a banquet and the food was mediocre at best. I had a steak that was overcooked, and mashed potatoes with zero flavor. A guest at my table had rice that was undercooked and crunchy and salmon that was visibly undercooked. A different guest at my table had overcooked rice and a piece of salmon twice the size of the others. The only good part of the meal was the green beans that we all had like 5 or 6 of.
