Beautiful place, I love the vintage look.
The floor was not swept or clean, including the sitting area. The tub was not clean. There was trash and nail clippings on the floor and a dirty q-tip in the bathroom. Beautiful place but not as clean.
Property was a beautiful old creaky hotel with a lot of character. Close to a lot of attractions in Denver and the neighborhood is quaint.
The building smelled quite musty in places but overall I liked the interior.
I did not realize this building is on street with a lot of homeless people. I felt very uncomfortable going in and out of the building. I could hear people yelling outside throughout the night. I chose to end my stay a day early because of these things.
The room was dirty there was no one working on site we had to park a block away in a parking lot not meant for the hotel. There were homeless people doing drugs on the porch when you walk in I was harassed and chased by a homeless guy. It's super dangerous and they don't answer the phone. I had to pay for a different hotel to make sure that my family and I were safe I was told I'd get a refund and still have yet to receive one It's already been a month
Everything about my experience sucked and I'm out $151 because no one answers the phone or will call me back I was lied to and still in the process of trying to receive a refund but have yet to do so I have spent hours on the phone trying to get this solved with booking.com and have been hung up on left on hold for hours and lied to. I give my experience a big fat 0
Booked my room months in advance. Arrived and the whole front entrance is blocked off due to construction. Homeless sitting and laying on the stairs entrance into the hotel, had to ask multiple times excuse me before anyone moved. Showed up to a dirty room that was stayed in. Called to get room taken care of and was transfered to top floor with temp of 100° up there. By the hour in I called the main number to get a refund and booked a different place because I did not feel safe. I have called now multiple times to get my refund to be told it was submitted but still a week later no refund. Please please don't stay here!
Please just give me my money back!
The location was close to some great places to eat and an amazing sports bar the DNVR! And the maintenance guy recommended a fantastic pizza place.
Nothing everything was great.
We have stayed here before. convenient location for our plans. I like that they got back to us promptly with requesting an early check-in and a late checkout.
The property has seen better days and could use some refreshing, parts of the shower handle kept falling off in the bathroom. We have been here before, so we know Colfax is super busy and loud, but Cofax is being worked on and there was a jackhammer right in front of our room. They perhaps could mention that. I know that’s something that they can’t control, but it was really disturbing.
Unfortunately, there was nothing I could genuinely appreciate about the stay. The property did not match the listing description or photos. Basic expectations of safety and cleanliness were not met. We were unable to access the unit properly, which overshadowed everything else. Overall, there were no aspects of the experience that I could describe as positive.
There were multiple issues that made the stay extremely disappointing. The surrounding area felt unsafe, with activity that was not disclosed in the listing. Access codes did not work for either the main entrance or the unit door.
We had to wait outside with no ability to enter the property. The master bedroom was not clean, and there was hair on the bed sheets. The unit did not appear properly prepared for guests. There was no staff available on-site to help despite waiting 45 minutes. Phone numbers provided for assistance went unanswered. We felt unsafe both upon arrival and when leaving due to people gathered outside. Overall, the conditions were unacceptable and nothing matched what was promised.
Beautifully decorated with Victorian period furnishings.
The road construction of Colfax made parking any where near the Chalet impossible. That is not a problem within the control of the property.
It was an ok place to stay for a couple nights.
There was supposed to be quiet hours but that wasn’t always adhered to. Hard to find parking.
I really loved all of the vintage antiques and pictures throughout the hotel. I really love Victorian homes and it made me feel like I was at grandma's house lol.
The only thing that I did not like was that the hotel is on Colfax Ave. My friend and I were approached 2 separate times by a homeless person.
We arrived and the doors were locked. The place does not have any staff located here. The streets are full of homeless people on fentanyl. It is a dangerous area to walk around. I called a number and had to leave a message. We finally got a code for the door through Booking.com. I would never have known to check that but we were desperate.
My bed did not have a top sheet on it. The room is ok but not very clean and no amenities. There is screaming outside every night. It is a terrible part of town. Then we got locked out. In the middle of our stay the door would not open. The manager made a “mistake” and locked us out. We had to get the new code. We still had 4 more days! It was terrible because it is a serious situation on the street.
There are literally 10-15 homeless people laying there outside of the front door. They are on drugs or have psychological issues and it is not safe. We will never stay here again, and never use booking.com again for not helping us. The logo is totally misleading. It is not true.
