One of favorite hotels in India!
Pros:

We LOVED our short stay (2 nights) at the Royal Orchid Metropole! Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. Upon arrival, they upgraded our room to a suite and it was just incredible and huge! The bed was so comfortable, the room was very clean, we had our own enormous balcony. I loved the layout of the entire hotel which is a heritage property, old world charm with modern amenities. It felt glamorous yet understated and unpretentious. It was my kind of place! The grounds are beautiful, very conveniently located, just a ten minute walk to the best (in my opinion) and oldest market in all of India. I also LOVE that they are trying to reduce plastic waste which is a big problem in India and have filtered glass bottles of water in the rooms which are available for refill on request. The staff were all hospitable, friendly and helpful. We stayed in nine hotels while traveling in India for five weeks, and the Royal Orchid was in our top three favorites. Thank you so much to The Royal Orchid staff for such a lovely and memorable stay. We will be back!

Pros:

It was our third stay here. Convenient location for airport and railway station and for getting into town centre. Quiet location by Mysore standards. Good pool. Restaurant good and staff very helpful.

Cons:

The arrogant and rather brusque attitude of some of our fellow guests.

Pros:

It is a heritage property with lots of elements from the past

Cons:

It can be noisy, as the main road runs past the hotel. There is also a big discrepancy amongst staff. Buffet trays can be left empty, and the level of attention can be lacking at times.
