We have never experienced anything like we did at this hotel last night. My fiancée got essentially no sleep because our nextdoor neighbors were playing loud music, talking/arguing in raised voices, and clearly doing drugs and smoking weed -- all night long. I called to the front desk, and they came and told them to keep it down, but it only helped for a few minutes. These people had apparently booked the hotel just to stay up all night doing questionable things. It was absolutely remarkable.
This is a non-smoking hotel, supposedly, but the whole floor reeked so badly of smoke and weed it made us nauseous. And it seems that management is just letting it go.
In general also, the hotel has gone way downhill since I was last here 7-8 years ago. Breakfast is gone, the hallways and floors are filthy, everything is peeling and creepy, and you just get a generally dirty, uneasy vibe. The lobby chandelier and what's left of the garden decor are like lipstick on a pig. The hotel is in disrepair.
The front desk lady was very nice in check-in and when I had to come back for a second and third time because we were given the wrong room type and then our keys for the new room didn't work.
It wasn’t a good experience at all. The bar wasn’t operating because they didn’t have their liquor license. The hallways and ceilings looked horrible. The room was outdated. They didn’t even bother to make the bed properly. The sheets were inside out. We booked a suite.
I stayed in this facility 4 working days a week for 3 weeks in a row now on a business trip. It is a great place and I enjoyed staying there and attending to my work . I will be staying for 10 more weeks for 4 nights a week in this winter. Hopefully it will be of same service and quality. Looking forward.
Decided to upgrade to the Empress Suite.
Pretty sure Ron Jeremy filmed something here. It was tacky and old from the walk in minute. Over 8 mirrors not including the entire mirrored toilet area. Green tub, brass fixtures, old carpet, dirty dusty old decor.
0 maid service, 0. you turn on a teeny tiny light for maid service, they come down the hall, ask you what you need and hand it to you, even after 4 nights...nothing.
This is a sad, worn out hotel. Staff was good, but rooms and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. I would not recommend. Stayed 4 nights, never got our room cleaned or got clean towels.
This place is a "keep your shoes on and wear shower shoes" hotel. DO NOT TRUST PHOTOS ONLINE, THEY HAD TO OF BEEN FROM 8 YRS AGO. We booked this hotel based on the fact that it was part of the Salvatores umbrella. Upon checking in, everything looked fine but the desk attendant had a hoodie on with the hood up, very odd for a Salvatores business. Once we turned the corner through the lobby it was obvious that something was not right. The carpet was pulled loose in the common area so much it had folds and the suitcase was jumping around like it was off-roading. Once we got off the elevator the carpeting had stain after stain at each door and the walls were physically dirty all the way down the hall. In our room, it smelled clean but with only 2 working bulbs in the room, it was hard to tell how clean it was. What we could see were the shadows from the cobwebs dancing around the ceiling. There was no handsoap, only lotion in the dispenser and only 1 washcloth for a double bed room. When we called to get hand soap we were told they had none, only body wash and no wash cloths. The bathroom had been lightly wiped down, that was it, housekeeping could not even pick up the used bandaid that was left in the shower or wipe the handprints from the mirrors.
This hotel has a ton of potential but do not book it thinking it is held to the same or remotely anywhere near the standars of Salvatores' other properties. I still cannot believe they have this place listed on their website like they still own it, what an embarrassment. If it wasn't for the fact that we had an early flight, we would have left. When we were picked up from the shuttle the driver confirmed that the hotel had been sold but indicated they "should" be renovating in the future.
Very close to the airport. The room was spacious and comfortable. I loved the old world atmosphere. There was a fitness room and sauna, but limited amenities. They did have a small shop where you could get snacks. Hotel shuttle to the airport. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful
When reviewing online, the room looked so beautiful. When we were walking to the room, the courtyard carpeting was in poor condition and raised in areas. The hallway carpeting was filthy. The room wallpaper was peeling and the dirty with splatter marks. The mattresses were worn as mentioned in other reviews. The carpet in the room was dark and made us wonder about the cleanliness. We decided that we were glad it was for one night
I will own that we made a last min reservation via trip advisor after we were told they were fully booked when i called directly. So usually last min reservations are sometimes "meh" but the occasion was super important so we took what we could. With that said, the name associated with the hotel would make me think that even a lower end room would have been a level up as Salvatore's usually reflects an upper tier experience. For a smoking room (we do not smoke) it wasnt bad no smoky smell. Lighting was ok especially when the lightbulb in the lamp was crooked, electrical outlets were the charging mechanism which was ok if you had a long enough cord. Happens when you update an older building. Heater mesh was very dusty. Bed was awful!!! The springs were very obvious and loud when you moved around. Mattress was hard, this is a mattress that definitely needed replacement. toilet had to have the hand shaken to stop the water running. Shower was odd. No matter what way the shower head was pointing the floor was wet and there was no floor mat available so hand towel was used, curtain did nothing to stop water. I did like the separate vanity area. Hallway carpet looked dirty, The main hall pictured in the adds was nice i liked the theme. The front desk staff was lovely!!! We did not eat at the cafe but went for specialty coffee and they did not have any.
For overnight it did the job. it was our first time staying there so i dont know what other rooms offered, didnt look much different when walking down the hallway when we left. I am not sure that i would book here again.
Had a great stay. The staff was very nice and accommodating the whole stay and the room was big and comfy. Only issue was the carpets need to be replaced and the room furniture needs some upgrades. But, overall had a great stay for the price paid.
The price I was charged was more than I was guaranteed.
NA
Only thing that was annoying was that breakfast was not included and cash only, but other than that everything was great!
Clean room #2030
Aged old grand dame. Classic statues everywhere. I was just there to catch an early flight so I didn't care. The important things were good bed and reliable shuttle. Those were both 5 star.
Great room for my purpose. The front desk woman was a total sweetheart.
Clean room and customer service was very good…we would stay there again
Friendly front desk. Difficulty getting room service, in fact gave up and ordered out. Checking in and out was easy.
Hotel was quiet. Staff friendly. Checking and out was smooth. Night receptionist very helpful.
Overall our stay was pleasant. It was very roomy and the bed was very comfortable.
A safety concern: The hallway carpet was puckered/loose in several areas which we tripped on, please fix.
Functional issues: One table lamp was not functional, several Jacuzzi jets did not work, the"fireplace" did not work, the toilet was loose at the base
