Stoney Creek Inn Quincy

Rooms weren't ready. Our room was smelly like a dog. Breakfast wasn't good.

Booked this hotel so the kids could swim. Wasn’t told the pool was closed until check in. Lady said she tried to get a hold of me but couldn’t since I booked through Booking- even though they did text me the pre- registration prior. The beds were small and moved a lot. Blinds were very dusty. Remote didn’t work and a guy had to come fix it. The bathtub didn’t have a drain stopper so my son couldn’t get a bath and was too scared for a shower since it was just a black hole.

We ended up canceling our reservation at the front desk because the swimming pools were out of service!! We chose the hotel because they had 2 swimming pools and both were shut down.

Upgraded my room with a bottle wine but got no glassware

I had a few issues and they took care of it but no apology

Breakfast was cold.

The waiting time at the front desk could be a little better.

Initially , when we booked , we were told that we would have a cot delivered up to our room and it had a sofa couch, we let them know we would be coming in late. It was a family emergency and we needed some extra room when we got there. There was no cot in the room, as was told and there were only 2 chairs in there. Now, fortunately, the front desk lady made everything work for us, which we appreciated, but the corporate main office and what they told us was completely inaccurate. And they should be better equipped to let someone know what is in the room and what would be provided? If not, corporate should give us access directly to Deon sites and their managers for the place that we will be staying at, it would make it easier to communicate.

Pool not available

I had to clean the room prior to letting my kids in, I always do a quick sweep out of habit as a veteran mom because it’s easy to miss little things when cleaning rooms & check for hidden cameras (my dads a police officer & you can never be too safe!) & check for bed bugs! So when doing my first initial inspection, I found old toys left from the prior family, two of which were choking hazards if my kids were at the age of needing to worry about that.. old Cheetos under the bed and I honestly don’t even know what the hundred flakes were between the bed & the wall.. & to top it all off when I sat on the floor to tie my son‘s cleat I sat in a completely soaking wet spot so what should have been a quick check in and go back to the fields for our next game turned into a nightmare and me having to change my clothes. At that point, I didn’t have time to deal with any of it so I decided I would deal with it when we got back from baseball that night which was when I found out the pool and hot tub were not working because big surprise they failed an inspection & were shut down!! The only reason I booked this specific hotel was because it had a hot tub and last time we stayed in Quincy the hotel I chose didn’t have a hot tub so my children were heartbroken and wanted Mom to swim with them this time.. they did not tell me that the pool was down when I checked in. After all of this they wanted to offer me a drink chip. I said maam I don’t even drink this is useless to me, she said well it’s good for pop too… wanted me to pay for late checkout and then ended up, refusing it to me anyways because they needed to get the room cleaned for the next people that checked in.. uhhhh you mean the next people that are going to have to clean their own room because your staff doesn’t do their job?!.
