It was ok
Pros:

Staff was nice but the only reason we booked the hotel was for the pool but it was closed which was very upsetting especially after was excited to relax in the pool after a long drive

We won't stay here again.
Pros:

We felt safe enough.

Cons:

No coffee available Sunday morning. Hotel room had high humidity, causing everything to feel slightly damp. Bad odor to building, like old spilled beer. The parts of the complex we saw need updating - paint, new wall paper etc.

I'd feel safer staying at the Bates Motel.
Pros:

Demolition. That's the only future for this once preferred hotel in the charming town of Brookings. There are now a dozen alternatives, all clean, modern, budget-conscious, in the immediate area.
This is far worse than "worn." We were in two different rooms. Lamps with no switches (broken off and not replaced), stains and damage everywhere - bathroom sink, walls, doors. No security - fire doors that don't close and are missing the hardware to close. Safety latches on room doors that are loose and ineffective. Deadbolts to adjoining rooms that don't latch. Rooms are dingy and dark. There were only 7 or 8 guests, out of 119 rooms, and they had trouble finding us an alternative to the first. The second floor, which is a little brighter, has only stairs and no elevator for access.
There is nothing to recommend this hotel other than the friendly reception staff.

Pros:

Always love the continental breakfast. Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly.

Cons:

Splash pad was closed and we stayed there for the pool. Very disappointed that they haven't had it available for a long time and we booked in advance because it was supposed to be fixed by the time we stayed there.

Pool issues!
Cons:

The pool was closed which was the whole reason for us wanting to stay, but were not aware of that until check-in! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON EITHER SITE STATING ITS CLOSED. Very poor advertising!

Pros:

Location. The night front desk lady was awesome.

Cons:

The hotel room was very dirty. The towels were stained looked like someone dried their hands with them did not have a working toilet contacted the front desk. They never sent anybody down. The TV did not work upon arrival but was remedied. The pool was closed whole splash park

Economical stay for a family gathering
Pros:

Good amenities. Decor is dark and somewhat gloomy. Building was clean but had a smell that wasn’t always pleasant. Liked the water park although the lighting was lacking once the sun set.

Cons:

There is no place for gathering that is near the rooms. Loved the staff was able to place all four of our rooms together.

Did not enjoy it.
Pros:

They brought us a pack n play

Cons:

I reserved a pool view room, didnt receive that, wasnt told I wasn't getting it, asked about it in the morning and was told they didnt have enough staff to clean those and the wouldnt make adjustments to what I paid. The pool was shut off which is the whole point of the trip. My son did not get to enjoy his birthday trip.

Disappointing.
Pros:

Not much

Cons:

It’s old and run down. Which makes it look dirty. The beds are horribly uncomfortable. The ‘breakfast’ was literally just waffles. had questions for the front desk staff but every time we went up there, nobody was there.
