The area was amazing..
This is a 200 year-old hotel, so you have to want that. My room was odd-shaped, but comfortable, with black-out curtains and windows that opened.
I would say this is a half 3 star, half 2 star hotel. the towels are thin, the linens are only just ok (even for a three star). The welcome was cold, and it unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth, despite everyone else on staff being gracious. It matters. The bathroom had been recently renovated and was lovely; the amenities, however, are 3-in-1 body wash/shampoo/conditioner, again, very 2 star. The decor in the room is appalling--really, i am generally not fussy, but the very little decor there was, left much to be desired. and the WIFI was poor in my room, even when i was sitting on the floor by the door. There is no reasonable workspace--there is a counter for the tea kettle with a good chair, but no space to work, and there is a table, with an oval seat with no back that is unsuitable for sitting in to work. The dining room is available for working after breakfast, but inconvenient and public.
They are trying to be a 3star hotel, but falling somewhat short. It is a good place to stay for a short time, but not if you want to work efficiently or comfortably. For the price, i might choose to stay elsewhere next time.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The bedroom was far too small, could not move in the shower and the tv would not turn off. Not what we expected as our first visit was great. Breakfast was adequate but not substantial. We had to settle our bill when we arrived……we did not approve of this. The staff were very friendly and made our stay enjoyable. We will reconsider staying at this hotel next time we visit Morlaix.
Confort moyen.
The hotel is nice and being under improvement which always comes with some minor issues (fresh paint smell and dust) we asked for a better dusting but didn't get it.
Amenities are noce modern and functional, breakfast is good with round the clock service. Great bang for your buck.

The pros.
Centrally located south of the viaduct on a circular loop in the traffic flow. No parking although we parked briefly on a wide pavement outside the main entrance to unload. We then parked in a free carpark approximately 250 yards along the Rue de Brest - easily found. Take the one way system around the block heading south (away from the viaduct) past the ‘Terrasse’ a green restaurant on the right and at the traffic lights take the RH lane and 2nd right into Rue de Brest. The car park is gained by turning into the Intermarche’ on the left and heading to the free park off to the right. It is big. Watch out for spaces nearer the Intermarche but don’t park in their car park as it is paying.
Reception was pleasant and speedy.
The room we had was a good size with plenty of wardrobe space and a large shower room. Tea & Coffee facilities (more on this later), a bottle of water. Not a lot of hangers so take extra.
The lift is slow, and you have to keep pressing the button but large enough for 2 people and luggage.
The breakfast was good, no complaints.
The cons
The hotel is looking tired but for a short stay is reasonable.
DO NOT have a room overlooking the main internal courtyard. It has the extractor from the next door restaurant that is so noisy you can’t open the window. Even then it is too noisy to sleep and at weekends it is still going close to midnight. During the week up to 11 pm.
Tea & coffee. You are limited to 2 sachets of milk, 2 coffee and 2 Earl Grey and 2 fruit teas. Fortunately, we always take extra tea bags, but the milk was a problem. We wish we had palmed some milk off the ferry when using the restaurant on board.
Morlaix is a great place to explore. We obtained the heritage walks from the Tourist Information. Overall, in 1 day we did 7 miles around the town and climbed 34 stories (ramps and steps). The route up and along the viaduct is over 80 steps plus 20+ down to walk along. The route directions were poor at the other end, but we managed. Some lovely old buildings, narrow streets and history.
Eating.
Directly opposite the hotel entrance is a narrow street – Rue Ange de Guernisac - with restaurants and creperies (see below). We tried the Italian, the little restaurant next door (highly recommended), the creperie (for lunch) and the upper restaurant that offers Tapas. The Terrasse restaurant on the other side of the town is pricy.
Creperie Duo D’en Bas, Bar de Viarmes, L’a Resto D’A Cote Pizzeria, Mad Tapas
Apart from the Galette Complete for lunch, we mainly ate fish and can highly recommend them all (even the Pizzaria for Moules).
Other towns worth visiting are Huelgoat for the 1mile long valley of rocks, Guingamp and Lannion. The latter 2 towns have much to explore.
And in conclusion, if travelling overnight from Plymouth and want breakfast, a short drive on the way to Morlaix is St Paul de Leon. In the main square is a Salon de Tea that does an excellent breakfast for 7 Euros. And the town is worth exploring - market day is Tuesday. If you have purchased the ‘Cart Blue’ then parking is easy and free for 1.5hrs in blue spaces.
Well done
sauber. Das Bad ist gross, die Betten ok
Beautiful hotel, great apartment and very central. No aircon so slept with the windows open and it was very noisy. Good breakfast.
the television does not work, the mattress was sagging, noisy room due to outside ventilation.
