Good location but needs updating
Pros:

• Staff were really nice
• Great location, right on the beach

Cons:

• The room was damp
• Our sink started leaking, which made the floor of the bathroom soaking wet everytime we used to sink
• There wasn’t much storage in the room / anywhere for us to put our stuff
• The room was really small - very tight for two people
• The bed “dipped” which was tricky to sleep in

Concern Regarding Room Cleanliness Upon Check-In

Cons:

I checked into my room so I could prepare a surprise I had planned for my husband. I want to note that I personally work in the hospitality industry as a Housekeeping Manager, and a close friend of mine—who is a Housekeeping Supervisor at the same hotel—was with me at the time of check-in.
Upon entering the room together, we immediately noticed several cleanliness issues that should not have occurred. The floor was sticky, the restroom had a strong moldy odor, and we found dirty underwear left behind in the closet. Additionally, the refrigerator contained mold.
Given our professional background, we were especially surprised and disappointed by these conditions. My friend and I ended up cleaning the room ourselves and removing the item left in the closet. This experience was extremely upsetting, as this should never happen to any guest—especially a paying customer.
I am bringing this to your attention because this situation fell far below expected hospitality and cleanliness standards and significantly impacted what was meant to be a special moment for my husband and me.
We did report these issues to the front desk at the time of discovery. However, despite the severity of the cleanliness concerns, no adjustment or discount was offered.
Given that we had to clean the room ourselves and address conditions that should have been handled prior to check-in, I strongly believe a discount or compensation would have been appropriate.

Location is excellent for access to Venice beach, it is a great starting point to walk all along the sea front to Santa Monica. It also has some great restaurants and bars nearby.
