A great place to stay of you're going to Edinburgh, particularly for Fringe. 24/7 reception, great breakfast options and simple amendities but clean. Room comes with a sink which was great for brushing teeth and washing my face without having to always use the shared bathroom. Shared facilities were clean and easy to access.

Pros:

Great location and affordable. On the other hand, the check in and check out process was terrible with massive lines out the door for hours waiting. Depending on where you are on the property, it can also be quite loud at night from people walking through the halls.

Pros:

Second year staying here. Different building and the private bathroom was a real treat this year. I love this place. The breakfast is outstanding. Walking distance to town and trails by Arthur's Seat. Convenient buses. Excellent laundry facility available.

Für die Verhältnisse in Edinburgh ein gute und halbwegs bezahlbare Art zu übernachten.
Pros:

Das Frühstück war sehr reichlich und lecker.

Cons:

Die Wegbeschreibung zur Rezeption könnte etwas genauer sein, wenn man von der Bushaltestelle kommt.

Excellent stay at the University of Barcelona
Pros:

My boyfriend and I had an excellent experience at the University of Edinmburgh. The facilities ate good value for money. The place is very quite at night, inside the bedroom or outside. The breakfast consists of a varied buffet, honestly it is has been the first time in my life we had so many options for breakfast for all sorts of diets (vegan, gluten free, flexitarian...). The staff was very welcoming and professional.

Buena ubicación, a unas paradas del centro en autobús. Cama muy cómoda

Cons:

El desayuno era de muy baja calidad. No pone en ninguna parte si hay secador de pelo. En la habitación no había y tuvimos que ir a pedirlo.

Buona la posizione e ottima la colazione, all’interno della struttura é presente anche uno shop. Letti e cuscini molto comodi

Cons:

Pulizia scarsa, con copriletti macchiati, abbiamo dormito con la finestra aperta perché non si chiudeva, tende strappate… insomma poco curato. Sotto la nostra palazzina alle 6.30 del mattino rumori con i carrelli di ferro!

Definetly return
Pros:

Check-in was very simple, staff helpful and polite.
My room was warm and comfortable, had a sink..
Towels provided.
Excellent breakfast options, somethung for everyine from fruit, cereal, porridge to hot options, really exceeded my expe condition and the breakfast staff helpful.

Cons:

There was nothing. I had not realised parking was an option. There may have been information provided that I didn't read, though 🤷🏻‍♀️

Leuke uitvalsbasis naast Arthur's Seat, ver lopen naar centrum
Pros:

Arthur's Seat is heel dichtbij. Ontbijt is heel uitgebreid. Niet zo duur en een prima uitvalsbasis tijdens je verblijf in Edinburgh.

Cons:

Locatie is vrij ver van het centrum, het is best een stukje lopen. Gelukkig gaan er wel bussen vanaf en naar het centrum. Aantal faciliteiten die normaliter wel worden gebruikt door studenten zijn nu dicht, maar je kunt wel verzoeken indienen bij de receptie als je iets nodig hebt. Het is een vrij overweldigend groot complex, af en toe wat onoverzichtelijk en het kan erg druk en daardoor rumoerig zijn door enorm veel uitwisselingsstudenten en andere groepen mensen die hier overnachten.
