I thought the staff were welcoming and professional. The Metro Hotel and my room were very clean and had the hotel had an appealing unique, retro, shabby-sheek decor; the grounds were clean and quiet. I'd welcome that environment over a hotel any day!
It may be helpful to know that you'll be carrying your luggage up a flight of spiral stairs and that there is no elevator access. I like having an accessable minifridge in the room. Regardless, it was a great place to stay.
Staff, very clean, location & yummy breakfast.
The steep stairs and the size of the room.

It’s Unique. We will always remember this charming hotel. Everything is nostalgic; we’re supposed to be in Paris 50 years or more ago, but the staff doesn’t speak French. Although the furniture is a little creaky, the mattresses are firm and there are many lovely details.
No serious problems.
This is a quirky, wonderfully decorated hotel a short walk from downtown Petaluma. French themed with unique art, and character throughout. Staff was very helpful, room was great and bed was comfortable
Nothing
The property is beautiful and such a fantastic location! I loved the interior, so much to look at. The rooms were light and cool with a comfortable bed!
I honestly couldn’t fault anything
This is a very unique hotel. Love the decor. Very old, but kept very, very well.
Our only disappointment? Our stay was too short. I wish we had more time to enjoy the hotel.
Absolutely charming property. Well appointed rooms with unique and quirky decorating - Parisian theme transported me to the Left Bank. If I'd known the rooms was so large, comfortable and had outside space (small patio with table outside our room, and pretty garden/walkway) I wouldn't have booked our AirBnB for the following nights. As others have written, the crepes breakfast was outstanding (hard boiled eggs are also available, and the proprietor was friendly and shared the hotel's history.
wouldn't change a thing!
What a charming hotel and cafe! The place is chock full of French charm from tip to tail! The common areas and café are brightly lit with natural light during the mornings, and the grounds feel cozy and secure.
The room was the perfect size for two, and featured a lush down comforter and hanging bedside lamps for reading before bed. The little table and chairs along the window were perfect for having a quiet morning before venturing off into the world. And the spacious bathroom included a clawfoot shower and large dressing area.
Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, but it's well worth the extra $12 per person. Fresh, light, crispy crepes with a variety of toppings, and tea, espresso, and brewed coffee with rock sugar and cold milk. A smattering of pastries and some boiled eggs were also on offer, but the crepes and delicious Joshua Tree coffee really stole the show! Crepes and coffee al fresco on a beautiful Petaluma morning was incredible.
Finally, convenience. Booking was a snap of course, through the app. But check in was equally easy. The proprietor checked us in and showed us to our lovely room in just minutes. Check out was a breeze: we just dropped our key with the front desk, where we were asked about our stay and bid safe travels.
We'll be back for sure the next time we're in the area!
Unique, quaint, location
It was beautiful and original
No elevator
The location is perfect to walk into town and I loved my French themed room! The shower and claw bathtub is a little old school but does the job. The crepe breakfast is 15 dollars and not a bad idea if you are short on time. I wish I had more time to spend in the adorable courtyard.
The place is charming with French memorabilia and decor. The room (210) is small but very comfortable. The tv is gigantic! The water pressure was great, and the bathroom products were luxurious. Breakfast is not included, but crêpes were absolutely worth the price. I loved chatting with the owner.
I wish they offered cappuccino; but that is because I am addicted to it. The coffee was great and made fresh. Everything else was great.
This is not your typical chain hotel. They even still use real keys!!!
A charming little hotel, well located, and with a fantastic breakfast.
Everything was fine.
The decor is adorable
