Wildlife Retreat at Taronga

We loved our stay at the Wildlife Retreat. The rooms and facilities are fantastic, and of course the views across Sydney. But the highlight is all of the behind the scenes access to the animals. We did an afternoon sanctuary tour and then a guided night time walk through the zoo which was fabulous, and we learnt so much more about the animals.

Beautiful views, relaxing environment, visiting the zoo every day, parking nearby and ferry to Circular Quay.

Super schöne Unterkunft direkt am Zoo. Hatten separaten Eingang dazu und tolle verschiedene Touren für dort. Hatten ein Zimmer mit Blick auf den Koala gebucht. So süß. Ebenso toll war der Blick vom Aufenthaltsraum an der Rezeption und vom Restaurant auf die Skyline von Sydney. Alle waren so nett und haben ganz viele Informationen zur Tierwelt weitergegeben. Das Zimmer war ein Traum. Jederzeit wieder, es war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.

Wunderbare Kombi aus Zoo und Hotel der Luxusklasse

Second visit and have to say not as good as the first especially in the food department. The breakfast was fairly basic and cold and why is it so impossible to get a hot coffee when there's a barista available. I especially asked for a hot drink and it was cold twice. Wonder how cafes manage when they are so much busier. A little sloppy compared to the previous visit.

On the good side the staff are lovely.

Amazing property. Incredible views

I loved being so close to the zoo and the animals. I had a function to attend at the retreat and staying on site was a real bonus. The guided tours were a real highlight.

The view, staff was very accommodating and facilities was easily accessible.

We stayed here for a birthday surprise and it was so fun to have a special entrance to go in and out of the zoo.

The food is good and the views of our beautiful city are spectacular! Vivid was on so we had an additional magic.

The zoo staff are Australian and super knowledgeable and friendly.

The free flight bird show was the best presentation I’ve ever seen. Simply fantastic.

Everything was great and we had a really fun stay. The retreat rooms are really nice and have everything you need, comfortable and spacious. We had a koala outside our room which was lovely.

The unique location and the exclusive access benefits made the experience truly magical for us as a family. Being able to enjoy the zoo in a way that day visitors can’t added something really special to our stay.

The restaurant on site was also excellent, serving great food in a lovely setting and adding to the overall experience.

We did encounter an issue during our stay, which was understandably frustrating at the time. However, what stood out was how well the staff handled the situation. They dealt with it professionally, went above and beyond to put things right, and we were very happy with their response. Because of that, I don’t feel the need to go into the details here.

Overall, we had an amazing stay and created some wonderful family memories. We would highly recommend the Wildlife Retreat and would love to return in the future.

Loved the location, looking over the sanctuary with the koala outside our window. Loved the opportunity for the night walk as well this was a highlight. Also loved the easy access to the zoo we were able to spend a whole day at the zoo and even pop back to our room for a rest midday.
