Pros:

Don’t stay here until they have finished the refurb. Am shocked a huge company like Travelodge are risking their reputation by operating this site in its current condition. Go to Dartford a few mins up road. Much better.

I WOULD LIKE A FULL REFUND, AWFUL STAY !!!!
Pros:

There were tradesmen everywhere .
I stopped off late afternoon/evening to get a room and was told I could only book online ,so I did. Then after booking and processing payment I was informed that there is a refurb underway and no food, to top it off they went on to inform me that in the morning there would be tradesmen about. What I certainly was not told was they would be working directly above me !!!!

I was rudely awakened in the morning by drilling , banging, what sounded like furniture being moved around and all sorts of other noises I couldn’t figure out.
I have taken videos .

The whole reason I stayed was because I had come down I’ll whilst travelling down country .
I needed food and sleep.

There was no mention on your website neither did staff tell me before booking.
In addition there was blood on the sheets in multiple places , the hair dryer was out of action and someone else’s hair in the bath room. Someone else’s carrier bag left under the bed .

There is a Travelodge 3 minutes away, jointer to a Burger King!!!

I could have stayed there .

As you can probably imagine I would like my money refunded. If not I shall go through my credit card company .

Good place to stay while travelling
Pros:

I found good mattresses and good linen, which offers you a good night sleep! The facilities were exactly what was needed ( having a bath tube on this particular room)!

Do not stay here!
Pros:

Absolutely awful hotel. If it wasn’t for the fact I arrived after midnight, I would have left straight away. I felt unsafe! You get the to rooms from outside the main reception. These doors have no security features on them. Anyone could come and go as key cards were not needed. The blocks/corridors looked like prison cells with the matching grey colour to enhance your prison experience. The rooms were no better. I don’t believe they have been updated since time began. I even had a modem socket on the wall. For anyone under 30, you may need to go and look up what they are! I am not sure how well the smoke alarms work in the rooms as I had someone smoking cannabis on one side of me and smoking tobacco on the other side as it stunk. I kept my shoes on the entire time I needed to walk inside the room due to how bad the carpet was. The bathroom had a lot of mould and rust. Even the lamp shade was stained.

I understand they have taken the hotel over from another company but if you put your brand name to something then you should ensure that it is up to standards. This hotel was apparently taken over in July so they have had enough time to remove mould and increase safety at least. I stay in a Travelodge (or Premier Inn as they are meant to be the same standard) at least once a week for work and visiting friends but I have never encountered a hotel like this. I appreciate the website states that people will notice a difference in the hotels offering until they update it with their latest look but I think you should be more honest with how below the normal look this hotel actually is. It truly is awful. It’s not even cheap. I paid £70 for this treat!

I don’t take photo’s of hotels usually but I do not think people would believe how bad this hotel was unless they could see proof!

Breakfast shambles
Pros:

Visited with a group of friends for a weekend stay.
Breakfast on both mornings was an absolute shambles can’t remember a worse breakfast experience. The staff were told the previous evening that a large group would require breakfast at a certain time. However by the time I had arrived various items had run out and I was told bacon would be 7 minutes. I enquired again 5 minutes later and was told it would still be another 7 minutes as it had been put in the oven but someone forgot to turn it on!
By the time the bacon arrived other items had run out and it seemed impossible to have a cooked breakfast with all the items at the same time.
Other annoying aspects, the beans were ‘hidden’ on a separate table away from the other items and the bread was hidden out of sight in a drawer.
Onto the room. The TV didn’t work on Friday evening so I reported it Saturday morning. Nothing had been done as it still didn’t work Saturday evening. I went to reception Sunday morning and they had no record of my reporting it.
In checking the wires at the back of the TV I found a cigarette so the room obviously wasn’t cleaned thoroughly.
Overall a shambles

Like a 1990s University Halls of Residence
Pros:

The hotel smells in places of damp and in other places of weed. I stayed there around 20 years ago when it was a Campanile, and there have been no updates to the rooms at all since then. The window in my room (309) could not be closed as the handle was loose and would not allow you to pull the window close enough to the frame for the latch to engage.

The bathroom was clean but worn, my room had an excess of shower curtain hooks that just opened a space to allow water to drain onto the floor. The shower was fine but would occasionally go very hot then back to normal.

The carpet was thin but had pieces of dirt on the floor, as if the vacuum cleaner (if used) was not up to the task.

The hotel bar/restaurant looked like a college common room from the 90's. The furniture was filthy and damaged. The upholstery was torn, pitted and stained.

On the plus side, it was cheap with free parking, and the bathroom had 2 bath towels. Reception staff I engaged with were understanding and friendly, but with the state of the place could do very little to mitigate for issues.

I would not stay there again in its current state.

Unimpressed stay
Pros:

I'd booked six rooms, one person had to be moved because off the room smelling nasty, one refused to stay, no one was happy with the rooms, hou couldn't get served at the bar at night so we had to find a restaurant to eat, the breakfast which we all paid for was horrendous, the food was terrible and at no point was it all out together, the crockery was dirty and the coffee machine was disgusting when they opened it to unblock it, we'll definitely not stop at a travel lodge again.

Outdated, musty and unorganised.
Pros:

Not worth saving the money on a cheap room, spend a bit extra and stay somewhere decent!! Room stank, outdated and dark. Breakfast was so unorganised, obviously not enough staff. Wait times were ridiculous.

Hotel ok, staff helpful
Pros:

The hotel is in a great location. Needs a bit of renovation but travelodge are open about that.
The reception staff seemed to be doing everything and were very helpful. The room itself was clean and everything worked. The bed was comfortable and clean, the tv worked and the curtains were black out. What more do you want for £65 on a Saturday night.
I would stay again.

Aviod this hotel
Pros:

If have zero star i will do that I checked into this hotel on Sunday, 28th September 2025, and was given Room 126. The entrance light in my room was not working, so I reported it on the same night. However, nothing was done on Monday or Tuesday. I went back to the reception to inform them again, and they told me it would be fixed on Wednesday, 1st October 2025. Unfortunately, it was still not repaired. When I asked the receptionist again in the evening, the response I received was quite strange—they told me that they “cannot change the bulb physically.”

I find this completely unacceptable. I paid for six nights, but the basic facilities were not maintained, and the service was very poor. I strongly advise others to avoid staying at this hotel.

Give them a chance
Pros:

I feel the need to write a review, yes this location is dated and badly in need and f a refurb but that’s Travelodge’s fault and not the staff. They are working with what they have and although a bit run down it was clean. The lovely lady on reception was great and couldn’t do enough to help us (sorry I didn’t get your name) so yes I’d go back and look forward to seeing the great changes of this potentially amazing hotel,

The Hotel, ugly old and smells bad
Pros:

The room smells horrible, the desk is scratched and old, the bathroom smells bad and super old, the corridors smell very bad of cigarettes, I lost my money in this hotel, we had to leave the place because I told the guy at the reception to please change my room and he very kindly changed me but the room also smelled bad, we left the hotel and lost the money, I do not recommend it.

Best thing about it? Leaving.
Pros:

Who managed the "refurb" or "redecoration" of this hotel when turning it into a travelodge? The franchise should be ashamed and that person/team should be sacked. It is not your typical travelodge style or decor, it is a mismatch of colours and honestly terrible. The rooms are awful and the bar is a joke. No character at all, no atmosphere. Awful. Really let the travelodge image down.

The whole place needs a massive overhaul !
Pros:

Very disappointed, I understand that the hotel has been taken over and there’s plenty of work to do! Not only are the rooms pretty grim, the hairdryer didn’t works and half the lights were out. We decided to eat at the hotel, I was surprised that the restaurant was so empty for a Saturday night. I should have realised the warning signs !
There were dogs and out of control kids running around the restaurant! There was one staff member manning the bar and taking all the orders . He was clueless! They were out of stock of quite a few dishes. As a coeliac there was barely anything I could eat! After waiting over an hour for the food it came, a pile of lettuce with no dressing , literally just a pile of leaves . The chips were raw, pale with no colour and crunchy. They forgot part of the food order. Overall a 1.5 hour wait! No lifts no if you’re not able, logging a suitcase up 3 flights of stairs isn’t great! Parking was good and the guy on reception was very helpful.

Not a Travelodge
Pros:

This hotel is going through a transformation from a Campanile to a Travelodge. I’d wait until all the transforming has been done before booking a room there! I’m sure that when it’s done it’ll be fine but the room we stayed in was well below par of that expected of a Travelodge. And I wouldn’t usually book a Travelodge expecting anything special.
