Hotel Minerva

No air conditioning in public areas, whole place needs updating. Pool area looked great, but poo wasl full of bugs and leaves. Some of the staff were really nice, other, not so much. We were told we couldn't have glasses for our beers on terrace, when my husband said it was too warm to stay in bar, he was told we could take glasses outside for 20 mins only!???
The place is in the middle of nowhere and taxi from airport cost 50 euro. There is literally nothing nearby, nearest shop/restaurant etc at least 5 km away, the pics online are very deceiving. The whole place had a feeling of Butlins, circa 1970s. Was probably great in it's time, but needs major revamp.
Also, we had booked for 2 nights because our flight from brindisi had been cancelled (we got caught in the fiasco of the probs with NATS and flights cancelled to and over UK airspace), and it looked like we had to spend two nights before next flight home. As it happened, shortly after 4pm, our airline contacted to say they were putting on a special flight at 2350hrs which meant we got flight home late on the first night we were booked into hotel. We had no problem paying for that night, as we had used the room even though we weren't staying the night. However, when we requested a refund for the 2nd night, and explained our situation, the hotel refused to reimburse. O one hand, we weren't surprised, and through booking.com, we had booked quickly because of flight issues and hadn't realised that booking was non refundable, but we were disappointed that, given our circumstances, no compassion was shown. Very disappointed.

Bad customer relations . We had a cancelled flight out of Brisdini and the hotel quickly had a lot of new bookings but it took nearly 2 hours to check in!
The receptionist had no help and I the manager cleared argued with her in front of everyone instead of helping her out.?

The reception staff were cold and abrupt. Insisted passport be kept overnight which was of concern. Room was a good size but basic and felt damp. Breakfast wasn’t remotely good.

The receptionist was the rudest person I have ever met and it took her an hour to check me in.

- Die Security fehlt! Ich fühlte mich nicht sicher!
Habe Rezeption am ersten Abend erzählt, dass ich von einer Gruppe Männer am Pool angebaggert wurde und ich mich nicht sicher fühle und fragte ob sie Security haben.
Die Frauen an der Rezeption beantworteten meine Frage mit einem:"Nein, leider nicht."
Es wäre gut, wenn das Management ein Mann als Security anstellen werden würden. Nicht nur wegen weiblichen Gäste sondern auch wegen den vielen weiblichen Angestellten! Ca. 90 Prozent des Hotelteams sind Frauen.
- Als allein reisende Frau wäre ich froh gewesen nicht im EG sondern im 1. Stock ein Zimmer mit Balkon gehabt hätte.
- Ein Mückengitter für das Fenster wäre super toll. Konnte in der 1. Nacht nur 2 Stunden schlafen, weil mich die Mücken nicht nur am ganzen Körper sondern bei meinem Augenlied gestochen haben.
- Der Duschkopf muss unbedingt ausgewechselt werden. Der ist leider schon sehr alt deshalb grün und schwarz.
- Neue Rolläden wären auch nicht schlecht.
- Irgendwie funkioniert das Schloss der Zimmertür nicht richtig. Musste immer mehrmals mit der Schlüsselkarte probieren bis das Schloss aufschliesste.
- Die Klimaanlage funktionierte auch nicht richtig.
- Das Frühstückbuffet war einbisschen bedürftigt.

La cuisine sans zucun ustensile dans les chambres. Et les petits déjeuners manquent de choix. La camomille au petit déjeuner non merci.

Le petit déjeuner, pas de « salé » si vous ne payez pas! Inconcevable de nos jours…

Brak menu w rezerwacji. Jeżeli ktoś chce kupić kolację to musi cały pakiet, nie można zamówić pojedynczych rzeczy (nie ma menu).

Brak czajników i filiżanek do kawy w pokojach- w trzygwiazdkowym hotelu to jest standard, tu nie było nic, bo sprzęt kuchenny można dostać tylko wtedy gdy się zostaje na minimum 7 nocy.

Didn't like the fact that there was no safes in room..so was very frightened about leaving anything valuable in the room....my husband prescription sunglasses and diabetes tablets went missing on day one....
